I suppose I'll start with the basics. I'm a female, age 22, married, mother, from and currently living in the US.

Started rping about 8 years ago but haven't been doing much writing in the past 3 years.

Ridiculously unpredictable schedule, nonexistent motivation, professional procrastinator, tired mom.

(2025 this is all massively out of date)

All your characters were sent to the main base on Shintie where the aforementioned meeting took place secretly in a cargo room. Prior to the meeting you were unaware what your mission was, why you had been sent there, or even who your commanding officer was for the mission. Since the meeting (That I'd like you all to act like you were at, aside from Audo Evgeny Bobienski and Luella Lorelei Leblanc.) that all is cleared up. After the meeting you had the rest of the day to do whatever. Now, the next morning, you are all headed down to the hangar where you and the others will climb aboard the ship you'll be taking to the Space Station Valentine. If you have any questions please ask asap.

Just a few more minor details...

Partially what the main Shintie base looks like. The city of Kelch is to the left in the distance.

City of Rokma on Dain.

Standard issue RAS pistol.

More or less what the primary hanger at the main base on Shintie looks like. Bigger, higher ceilings, that kind of thing. [Try to ignore the Star Wars stuff in it.]

The standard RAS Battlestar. Generally commanded by a Commodore or Admiral.

The standard UKD Destroyer. Generally commanded by a Commodore or Admiral.

These are the most widely used style of common fighter ships.

RAS: Viper

UKD: Predator

This is the RAS transport ship they'll be taking to the Space Station Valentine. While it isn't remotely as large as a BattleStar it is plenty spacious with full living quarters and such. It's weaponry is mid level.

This is the UKD ship we'll be traveling into the UKD territory with. From Shintie we will take a RAS transport ship to the Space Station Valentine where we will then take the UKD ship. It's specially designed for transport of Telithium Crystal [It's a Crystal commonly used for power in the UKD], therefor built with above average plating to shield from the harmful radiation of the crystals. This shielding will be used to our advantage since it can't be scanned. Vipers and other RAS equipment will be carried in the haul. While the ship only has one main cannon for defense it is more designed to be durable, than a heavy hitter.

This post covers some details not discussed in the plot itself. I hope they are helpful.

Once a person enters the Rebirth program their DNA is duplicated to create clones. Then the persons consciousness is duplicated and uploaded to the system. Clones are rapidly matured and held in biotubes. In rushed situations a batch of clones can be matured in about 1 - 2 months. Regular mature rate is generally 6 months. Once the clones have matured to the age the host was when they copied their DNA their progression stops and they are stored in the same biotubes they were grown in. Clones can be stored for many years without an kind of degradation. Muscle tone and weight are not affected for stored clones.

When an incoming signal of a clone being needed for the host's consciousness a clone is immediately prepped for the Rebirth. It is also common to have one or more pre-prepped clones. The prepping process includes moving the clone to a Rebirth tube, [Similar to a biotube. In moments of emergencies biotubes can be used.] dressing them in a full body skin tight black suit, and hooking them up to the Rebirthing equipment.

Rebirth tubes are very similar to the biotubes that the clones are grown in. Rebirth tubes are located in a private download rooms and have all the downloading equipment built into them. They are also more shallow, allowing the newly downloaded host to stand without being fully submersed. Both biotubes and Rebirth tubes are filled with a liquid substance designed to oxygenate, sustain, and nourish the clone body. Many prefer to clean off the substance immediately after they download but there is no harm by allowing it to dry.

The main part of the downloading equipment is located in the large head piece. It slips over a clones head like a helmet and can easily be removed once downloaded. [Memory flash backs may be experienced in the final part of download. ]

Depending on the download station the size of the Rebirth room may vary. Generally there is at least enough space for the host to dry off and dress. On larger bases, and for more influential or high ranking hosts, there is often full sized rooms including furniture, a selection of clothing, and even personal belongings.

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. I hope these answers satisfy your questions!

1} How do RAS members contact each other (both within base and when on the same planet)? Do they carry contraptions similar to our modern-day cellphones, bluetooth earpieces, or pagers? Or maybe something similar to Douglas Quaid's in-hand cellular device from the 2012 film Total Recall? And what about between further distances such as from planet to planet (I'm talking from individual to individual, not something like getting a message from base or something like that)? Can someone/anyone have a device that like in their home?

Hm, haven't really thought about this one to much. I would imagine people carry something like a smart phone or may have a device more like a bluetooth headset. Officers would carry a military issued communication device that would be similar to a cell phone. These would only be good for communication with anyone on the planet or perhaps ships / space stations in orbit. Planet to planet communications would be a bit more involved. The device for that would be larger, not something you carry around. These would be fairly available on bases and in government buildings. Civilians could have them but not necessarily everyone would, since they are more expensive. Also, if a civilian ever wanted to contact an officer on their military communicator they would need a security access code.

2} Can a regular citizen become immortal through Rebirth/Living Project or is that restricted solely for soldiers and government use?

You either have to be in the military or a very important person in the government to be able to be part of either program. I suppose if you were rich enough you could probably secretly bribe your way in but that's unlikely.

3} Do soldiers live full-time on whatever base they're stationed at or do they have their own homes, come by base while on active-duty, and return back when off-duty?

In most cases soldiers are stationed on base. This will vary somewhat depending on rank and marital status though. Higher ranking officers don't necessarily have to stay on base. The military is usually willing to provide them with much nicer living quarters if they wish to stay on base. If an officer is married to a civilian (And even more likely if they have children) their commanding officers are likely willing to allow them to live near by off base as long as they are on base while on duty.

4} Can the Rebirth/Living Project reincarnation process be affected by distances? For example, if someone dies planets away from the nearest station as opposed to dying just feet away from the machine, will that change anything?

Yes, distance affects the time it takes to download into a new body. If you are the furthest away from your clones than it could take a day or two for you to download. However, if you are within close proximity to your clone(s) than you will download almost immediately. It will take a few minutes. Since the creation of Rebirth they have been constantly working on decreasing download times. The UKD has slightly faster download times for those in their Living project.

5} When was the first "Rebirth" machine made, when did the testing start, when was the first successful experiment, and what is the current year?

The current year is 12, 460. Rebirth development and experiments began in 12, 402 and 8 years later in 12, 410 Rin Monroe successfully went through Rebirth. Little to no documents remain, or were written in the first place, about Rebirth extermination. The RAS government and military decline to answer anymore questions on the matter.
"You have a good reason for acting the way you did, it's okay." She said in a soothing tone. Carefully she pulled back a bit to look at him. "Is there anything I can do for you or get for you?" She asked.
"I got myself dismissed for the whole day by saying I had stomach cramps. Don't worry about it." She explained. It was easy to tell he didn't want her to leave, and on a certain level that was satisfying. Gently she stroked the back of his head in an attempted to comfort him.
Rin tightened her grip around him. She was glad he could trust her, but hated that he had to go through this. "I'll stay as long as you need me. I'm not going anywhere." She whispered. She could feel the shoulder of her cadet uniform jacket dampen as he cried. It didn't bother her in the least.
Without saying anything she walked over to him and wrapped him up in a hug. "There's no words that can express how sorry I am. All I can tell you is that I'm here for you, and I always will be." She whispered softly to him.
Quietly she sat there, allowing him to yell as much as he wanted. Though it was being said irrationally his words were true. Being killed by the enemy is expected, acceptable, but by the people they were supposed to be protecting? That's wrong.
With a deep swallow she tried to think what to say. What could even be said in a situation like this? "We never expect to be hurt in our own house, that's where we should be safe." She said quietly. The words weren't only for him, but also for her. The thoughts of her stepfather beating her and her mother and sister forced their way through. She tried to keep her focus on Marcus.
