Organisation Name: The Legion

Organisation Specialisation: The Legion takes any and all mercenary contracts. However, the ‘navy’ of the Legion is primarily comprised of pirates, drawn by Dave Jones’ name. They are very good at their work.

Organisation Type: Mainly a Mercenary Company, but with Pirating Elements.

Organisation Income Source: Selling its soldiers to the highest bidder, and what they can sell from raids. But they also get more funds from running security for smugglers and a drug cartel.

Legality: While the Legion operates primarily in the Terminus systems, it takes pains to make sure that it obeys Council laws in the Council space, and tries not to break too many major laws, so it’s not banned like the Blood Pack. In short, they’re walking a fine line, but while the Council frowns upon its blatantly illegal activities, they aren’t banned from Council Space.

Organisation Base: As Tevura dislikes having any one place to be located at, the Organization base is a fleet. Named ‘The Silver Fleet’ by Tasi.

Organisation Assets:

As she built up the Legion, Tevura made a point to curry favors with various individuals in various places, and make arrangements. These are:

-6 Blood pack officers who owe her favors

-3 Eclipse officers who owe her

-2 Blue Suns officers who owe her

-1 Drug Cartel in Omega giving the Legion a quarter of their profit in return for Legion Mercs protecting them
In addition to those, the Legion owns a bar on Omega and an office on the Citadel, to make potential contracts easier to gain.

Ships: 7 Asari Frigates(modified to be more armored than normal), 2 armed and armored cruise liners, further modified to hold more people for a long amount of time, 2 heavy freighters, armed and armored.

It should be noted that there are rarely any more than three frigates with the fleet at a time, the other four raiding and pillaging.

Organisation History: Originally known as ‘The Legion of the Silver Sword’, The Legion was founded 170 years ago by Jovus Lankarian. The Turian had the archaic and naïve idea of imposing order and honor upon the lawless Terminus systems, one body at a time if necessary. While this venture was doomed to fail from the start, the Legion did gain notoriety among the gangs, pirates, and Merc groups of the Terminus systems, as it began taking on various security contracts to fund itself, and began it’s campaign to ‘save’ the Terminus systems. In the 10 years John Lancaster lead the Legion, it wiped out thousands of small time gangs, destroyed hundreds of pirate fleets and pirate base worlds. Thousands joined the Legion of the Silver Sword, believing it actually had a chance. In the last three years of his life, John Lancaster had managed to engage his Vigilante army in war with the Blood Pack and Eclipse.

In a battle with the Blood Pack, however, John Lancaster and his inner council and staunchest supporters were all killed. His son, Janus Lankarian took over as leader, and had some very different ideas about how to run the large organization his father’s small group had become. First things that had to be taken care of were the two very angry merc organizations coming to kill them all. James Lancaster did this by paying them all off. The Legion had gained a huge amount of wealth from donations and security work, and James Lancaster used it liberally to buy off Eclipse. The Blood Pack was more difficult. It demanded not only money, but blood price for all of the ‘grievances and pain’ caused by the Legion. James Lancaster agreed readily, and gave roughly a thousand of those most loyal to his father’s old way of running the organization to the Blood Pack. Presumably, they all died horribly.

That was the first sign to those who still stayed with the Legion that things were changing. Many left then and there, disgusted, angered, or afraid that James Lancaster might sell them to save his own skin as well. Things only got worse as he completely turned the purpose of the organization around. Rather than fight the criminals and help the innocent, the Legion of the Silver Sword had become a criminal organization itself. Hundreds left daily as more and more criminal activities were undertaken. In just a year, James Lancaster had managed to turn the Legion of the Silver Sword from a vigilante army into a small group of hired thugs, doing whatever jobs it could to stay alive. James was soon killed by his own men after the year ended.

And thus, the Legion of the Silver Sword, persevered, clinging to the fringe of the criminal world of the Terminus systems, a dying parasite that wouldn’t let go. This was how Tevura and her sister found it, a hundred years ago. They rose rapidly through the ranks, being simply better than all of the thugs that the Legion attracted. When she was high enough in the, admittedly short, chain of command, Tevura decided to ‘clean up’ the Organization. One after another, in the course of two days, the leaders of the Legion all died. Tevura and her sister were the only two left, and the former wasted no time taking control and preparing to build the Legion of the Silver Sword back up.

The first thing she did was to shorten the name to simply, ‘The Legion’. Then she fired all of the hired thugs in the Legion, killing those who refused to leave(which was most of them) and used the credits she found on all of the former members, and in their accounts to hire some veteran mercenaries. Then she began taking real jobs, and building the Legion’s reputation. First and foremost, the Legion wasn’t small and weak and something to be pushed around and betrayed on a moment’s notice. The most notable step she took to ensure this message got through, and by far the most effective, was the utter annihilation of another Mercenary group.

It was a joint job. They were both hired by the same company, and both directed to destroy a rival company’s base. Simple. However, when the Legion landed with its allies, the other Merc organization opened fire on it. Most of the Legion mercs on that contract died, with only a handful escaping the betrayal. The other Merc organization had been bought out by the company they were supposed to destroy. Tevura reacted…violently. After bringing the full force of the remaining Legion down upon the company, destroying it and all of its hired Mercs, she used the money to pay the Shadow Broker to tell her where the other Merc organization’s base was. Then she bought a dozen ships (using representatives, and never allowing them to say who they were), and outfitted them for her needs.

Going to that uninhabited planet, where the Merc Organization obviously thought it was safe and hidden, Tevura located the base, and dragged a dozen asteroids from a nearby belt, and dropped them on the base. It was impossible to be accurate, but they got close enough. The entire continent the base was on was utterly destroyed. The planet ravaged and rendered nothing more than a blackened ruin. No life. No ecosystem. Nothing. It happened in a remote location of the Terminus systems, but there were obviously some Mercs left who weren’t on the planet. Word spread. Galatic attention was garnered. Officially, Tevura denied authorizing the asteroid dropping, and promised to ‘investigate who of her group would do such a horrendous and highly illegal thing’. Nothing came of these ‘investigations’ of course. The ships she bought were destroyed.

It took her 100 years, but she did it. the Legion has reclaimed some of its former glory.

Important People

Tevura [+]

Name: Tevura, Originally Dahlia T’sola. She changed her name both for the practical reason of ‘the less to connect her to her past, the better,’ and because it amused her, given her condition.

Age: 700 Earth years.

Appearance:

Background: Tevura was born the youngest of three sisters, two hundred years younger than her eldest, but only one hundred years younger than the middle sister. Of the three, she was the only one to be a pureblood. Unfortunately, her mother died only a year after she was born, killed by an Ardat Yakshi. As such, Tevura went to her eldest sister’s care, as Rebekha, the middle one, was still in training to be a commando. As she grew up, she and her sisters were close, with Rebekha visiting as frequently as she could. While both were fiercely protective of her, the eldest was the most protective. Children are cruel, and she didn’t want Tevura being mocked for being a pureblood, or worse, being accused of being an Ardat Yakshi.

Then, of course, came the day that changed her life forever. She was forty and was experimenting with a girl from her class. They bonded, and rather than the life changing experience for both of them that was promised, her partner was killed while Tevura experienced a sensation like no other. When she recovered from it, Tevura did the only thing a young girl could. She ran home. That’s where the Justicar found her, being hugged by her eldest sister. Then she was taken away, to the monastery to live out her life in seclusion with others like her. It was better than being killed, right?

The next thirty years of her life were spent in that monastery, with her only being occasionally let out. She was written to by both of her sisters weekly. Rebekha joined the esteemed Serrice Guard, during her time at the monastery. Of course, these letters only served to remind Tevura of what she lost, and is being kept from. One day, when she was 70 she was taken out with a group of others for ‘good behavior’ to the Asari homeworld. The trip had been weeks in the making, and Tevura’s eldest had been informed long before hand and would be meeting her with Rebekha.

Under careful, but subtle, watch they landed and were allowed to explore for a few hours. In groups. With tracking beacons. Tevura spent the hours with her sisters, struggling to make up for lost years. When they were all called back, to the docks, something went wrong with a medium freighter nearby. It’s engines lost control and it plummeted to the earth. No more than fifty feet from the Monastery group.

The explosion killed hundreds. In fact, it should have killed Tevura. And it would have, if not for her sisters both making barriers around the three of them. When the smoke cleared, both nearly collapsed, and it was clear that they were the only survivors in a wide area. Opportunity beckoned, and Tevura took it. She told her sisters she wasn’t going back to the monastery and she ran. Better to be a fugitive than a prisoner. Her sisters followed. Rather than try and force her back, as Tevura expected they helped. Removing her tracking beacon (bloodily) and then getting with her on the nearest ship off the planet before the dock could be shut down.

For two years, they weren’t followed. They settled down in Omega, doing what work they could. They thought they had gotten away. Then the Justicar came for them. She wasn’t subtle. She announced she was going to take Tevura back, and when Tevura refused, she began firing. Luckily, Blood Pack happened to own the territory and didn’t appreciate it being shot up by an Asari. In the resulting fire fight, Tevura and her sisters escaped, and left Omega. The Justicar followed.

The next 228 years were a long game of cat and mouse. Running, thinking they were safe, and then being found by the Justicar again. Then the cycle repeated itself. However, on the day it all ended, they had been successfully hiding for twenty years. They were back in Omega. There was real hope that they had escaped. Then Tevura screwed up. She slept and bonded with a couple of locals, killing them. From then on it was a downward spiral. The body count soared to the triple digits in the space of a few weeks, Tevura sometimes not even bothering with sex to bond with and kill someone, before her sisters were able to find her and restrain her. By then it was too late. The Justicar was coming, old contacts set up for that very purpose twenty years ago warning them. It was too late to run and take Tevura with them. So, they decided to try and fight. Leaving Tevura restrained, the eldest acted as the bait, while Rebekha set up nearby with a sniper rifle.

The Justicar saw the eldest sister and tried to kill her. Taking prisoners was out of the question since the first day they ran from her. Tevura’s sister ran, followed by the Justicar. She lead the Justicar into an alley, where Rebekha had a clear shot. Then she stopped. Rebekha fired and only wounded the Justicar. The Justicar fired on Tevura’s eldest sister. She didn’t shoot to wound, and she didn’t miss. Tevura’s eldest sister died quickly, at least.

Then the Justicar turned her eyes towards Rebekha.

The resulting battle could even be heard by Tevura. After many minutes of screaming curses and struggling, she managed to break free of the restraints, and headed towards the sounds of fighting. She picked up a pistol from a dead Merc, caught in the crossfire. Things grew ominously silent when she was only just round the corner from the fight. Turning the corner she saw Rebekha pinned by the Justicar, the latter demanding to know where the Ardat Yakshi was. Tevura was only a few feet away from the Justicar. She couldn’t miss. The Justicar died, without ever knowing how close she had come to her goal.

The surviving sisters quickly left Omega. There was no time to bury. No time to mourn. They had to leave, and then they had to figure out how to control Tevura’s…urges. Tevura spent the next two hundred years mastering every art of self control, every tip, every trick, she could, while Rebekha watched over her.

When she finally felt she was ready, they ran with various mercenary companys for 100 years, before Tevura’s ambitions outgrew something so simple. She looked for a merc company that would be easy to take over.

The Legion of the Silver Sword was found.

Positive Traits:

-She has utter control over herself. She won’t let petty things like emotions or pain control her. If she lets those things have their way, she’d be stacking up a rather high body count of neurologically ravaged lovers.

-She’s a powerful biotic, her powers having been increased every time she destroyed another sentient nervous system, when she lost control.

-After being hunted for centuries by an unrelenting and seemingly unstoppable Justicar, she never goes into anything assuming its safe.

-She’s utterly loyal to her friends and those under her command. The Legion rarely leaves their own behind.

-While trained in the use of conventional weapons by mercenaries and her sister, several ways of self-control involved martial arts or other physically straining acts. She can pack a punch, even without her biotics.

Negative Traits:

-Tends to react violently to betrayals, real or false. (See Asteroid bombing section of Organization history.)

-She’s paranoid of other Asari she doesn’t know. Any one of them could be another Justicar.

-Despite centuries of learning to control herself the urge to go out and, for lack of a better word, hunt other races and destroy their nervous systems is always there. Pushing and tearing at her self control.

-Her loyalty to her men and her friends is also a downfall. Want to get her to do what you want? Capture one of her troops and torture them for a few days, sending video reports with your demands. She’ll crack and give in eventually.

Tasi nar Nedas [+]

Name: Tasi nar Nedas, not her real name, but she has forgotten her real name.

Race: Quarian

Background:

As one of the rare Quarian biotics, Tasi’s life started off horribly. The captain had left the fleet for a day to go investigate an anomalous signal on a nearby planet. After finding a few minerals and an abandoned mining camp, the ship returned to the fleet. However, before they could fully rejoin the fleet, their ship was attacked and crippled by a pirate frigate. They proceeded to be boarded. While the captain was able to alert the Quarian Marines, as the crew including Tasi’s mother tried to fight back, and let them board and evacuate the crew, one the pirates decided to take as many of them with him as possible. He damaged the engine severely enough that eezo in dust form spread throughout the ship. Tasi’s mother had been shot in the shoulder as such, she was exposed to the dust before being taken away and sent on a shuttle to the nearest ship with the medical equipment needed to try and save her and her child, Tasi.

Tasi was lucky. She didn’t contract terminal cancer. Rather, she got biotic abilities. Her mother was far less lucky. She died soon after Tasi was born. And thus, Tasi’s life began. Her mother dead, what was supposed to have been her birth ship, ruined her birth crew scattered or dead. She was put on a new ship, with a quarian pair that hadn’t had their child yet. As Tasi grew up, her biotic powers grew more and more apparent. She couldn’t afford an implant, however, being a Quarian. Still, things seemed to be normal, for that brief period in her life. Then she went on her pilgrimage, at sixteen.

She didn’t even really have a chance to start. To be fair, she couldn’t really blame the Migrant Fleet. How were they supposed to know that Batarian slavers were going to attack the colony they dropped her off on, a couple of days later? There had been no reports of slavers in the area, or any sign of them. Regardless, things were as they were. Tasi was captured and imprisoned on their ships. However, rather than risking killing the Quarian by implanting a controlling device, they simply imprisoned her, and went through the arduous process of turning her into the ideal slave.

Four years. For four years, Tasi was conditioned. One of the Batarians knew some of the Quarian language and named her ‘Tasi nar Nedas’. That was her name, and everyone including herself would refer to her as such. Other slaves who didn’t were brutally beaten. If Tasi even whispered it to herself in her dark, black, pit they called a cage, they would beat her and then take off her mask, sending her immune system into allergic reactions. In fact, setting off her immune system was a favored punishment. They always kept her from dying, with medicine they stole or bought. But she came close. In time, Tasi forgot her own name. The slavers deemed her ready for sale, and took her to Omega, searching for prospective buyers.

While she waited on the ship, the slavers did something to irritate Aria. Tasi never found out what, exactly, but she woke up from a doze to the sounds of gunfire and screaming. Eventually the fight reached her. Aria’s men were systematically killing the slavers. A stray shot broke the lock on Tasi’s cage, and she had pushed it open and was running within a heartbeat. Rapidly, she got lost in Omega’s streets. She was tired, hungry, and decidedly alone. But at least she was free.

She was sitting against a wall in a back alley when a toe nudged her foot. Looking up, Tasi saw a Turian looking down at her. The Turian’s name was Talen Vimus. He was an ex-Blackwatch, making his way after retirement as a mercenary for hire. Recently, he’d been feeling the need to find an apprentice, and Tasi represented the perfect chance. People, especially in more civilized parts of the galaxy, tended to want to ignore Quarians. That was how the next, 15 years of Tasi’s life would pass, until Talen died in a contract that went badly. Only a few months later, Tevura approached with a job offering, and Tasi took it.

Positive Traits:
-She’s an excellent shot with a sniper rifle.

-Her immune system is stronger than that of normal Quarians.

-Give her a few days with someone, and orders not to kill them, and she can probably get them talking. With ample application of knives and flames and other such items, of course.

-While her biotics are not very diverse, the few things she has invested them in are strong.

-Like all Quarians, she’s an adept Machinist.

-While nowhere near as talented as, say, an Ex-STG or a Drell Assassin, she is good at anything involving stealth or information gathering.

Negative Traits:

-Perhaps it’s because of her name, but she has self-esteem issues. Criticism not given constructively is taken hard…usually violently.

-She’s crazy. It’s not immediately obvious. But she takes great pleasure in torturing and killing her enemies(especially by burning), and must usually be given specific orders to keep her missions clean. Also, common Quarian sayings like ‘Keelah Se’lai’ and ‘Boshtet’ are butchered to ‘Klee Sai’ (Kuh-Lee Sigh) and ‘Bohtesh’ (Bow-tesh)

-She’s afraid of the dark. Even when missions require nighttime moving, the inside of her suit is usually illuminated for her.

-She can’t fall asleep alone. Someone or something, be it actual person or VI has to be with her.

-She hates Batarians with a passion that surpasses most humans’ hate.

Raik Kalros [+]

Name: Raik Kalros
Race: Krogan

Gender: Female

Age: 200

Appearance:

There are numerous scars on the skin of her face, incisions. They grow more numerous and more painful looking on the skin of her body and hump. Of course, no one ever sees this as she’s rarely out of her armor when amongst others. Her face is typical for a Krogan. Squat, covered by a plate, leathery.
She’s small for a Krogan, standing at a mere 6ft 4in at the hump.

Background:
On Tuchanka, there are only three fates for an infertile Krogan female. She can either die of natural causes, old age or the wildlife, after having watched thousands upon thousands of her children die before even being able to have a chance at life. She can die distracting an enemy clan from the fertile females, sacrificing herself for the good of the clan. Or she can commit suicide, and not have to live through the pain and suffering of the Genophage. When Kalros was born, she was named after the Mother of Thresher Maws, in the hopes that names carried power and she would be unaffected by the Genophage. She wasn’t.

The first hundred years of Kalros’ life were spent in a cycle. Breed, watch thousands of her children die, watch the handful that do survive the Genophage either die fighting other clans, or join her in the cycle of breed, watch die, repeat. Finally, she just grew sick of it. She grew sick of watching those deemed fertile being traded by the clan chief, as if they were weapons or vehicles. She grew sick of watching thousands of her children die without a chance to survive in the first place. So she decided to leave. She decided to leave the planet, and the stupidity of the males of her race behind.

She left, armed with a Spike thrower taken from a passed out male, celebrating a victory with ryncol. The trek to the nearest clan with anything approaching a spaceport was difficult. Getting in without being shot was harder. But she survived, and was allowed entry (after all, no clan was going to turn down another female saying she was here to join them). When she reached what claimed to be the clan’s space port, she met an ancient Krogan by the name of Baruk. He remembered the old surgery Krogan used to perform to create biotics. He was even willing to operate on her. What did she have to lose? If she died, at least she died on her own terms, trying to make herself something more than just a bartering tool for males. If she lived, her chances of thriving in the galaxy were all the more increased.

It was the most painful experience of her entire life. Baruk didn’t have any anesthetics. She would have loved to blackout, but Krogan’s nervous systems don’t operate like most others. It couldn’t overwhelm her brain. While it merely took hours, it seemed to take days. But she survived. Barely. It took her weeks to recover enough to actually be able to begin to learn how to control her new abilities. Months were needed to get them under control enough that she didn’t use biotics when she didn’t mean to.

When she finally left Tuchanka, she fell in with various merc groups, leaving as necessity or pride demanded, until she finally was hired by Tevura.

Positive Traits:

-Even by Krogan standards, Kalros is extraordinarily resistant to pain. After going through a hundred years of watching her children die before even having a chance to live, and going through the pain of an operation that had a high mortality rate for Krogans, there is very little in this universe that is able to incapacitate her through pain.

-Kalros is constantly underestimated by male Krogan. After all, she’s just a female. She’s an infertile one at that. What could she know about combat and war?

-While not a naturally occurring Biotic, the operation was designed to create powerful Biotics. Kalros is one.

-She has all of the destructive combat prowess of a Krogan, with none of the ‘brawn over brains’ draw backs.

-She can use pretty much any weapon you throw at her.

-Unlike most Krogan you see, she actually knows how to use intricate technology beyond simple guns and armor.

Negative Traits:

-If there’s one thing that can describe Kalros, it’s bitter. She hates the Salarians for making the Genophage. She hates the Turians for using it. She resents the rest of the galaxy for allowing it to happen and then doing nothing to punish the Turians for it, or help the Krogan race recover.

-She’s slower to go into Blood Rage than other Krogan. Kalros is loathe to let go of her self-control and -intelligence, and stoop to the level of the males of her race.

-Compared to other Krogans, she’s not as physically strong, or intimidating.

-She tends to look down on the males of her race. They’re inferior because of their tendency to use brawn over brains.

Rebekha [+]

Name: Rebekha T’sola (note: never uses or reacts to her last name)
Race: Asari
Gender: Female
Age: 800
Appearance:

She stands at 5ft 6in

Positive Traits:
-Very alert. She notices almost everything.

-Has Asari commando training, served in the Serrice Guard for a couple decades.

-She reacts quickly and calmly to any situation.

-Her biotics are potent, if not as powerful as Tevura.

Negative Traits:

-If you haven’t proven yourself trustworthy to her, she assumes the worst about you. At all times.

-If anything, she’s even more paranoid than Tevura is, especially about strange Asari.

-She’s largely cold and hostile to anyone who isn’t her sister.

-She puts Tevura above everything else. Even her own life.

Dave [+]

Name: Dave Jones.

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Age: 42

Appearance:

Yes, he’s aware of how he looks. He wears armor beneath it all. No sword though..or flames. He stands at five foot nine inches, with a brown eye.

Background:
Dave was 21 when the First-Contact War began, a marine in the fledgling Alliance military. On Shanxi he fought a brief but intense battle with his squad against the Turians, before being forced to retreat, and then surrender not long after. After the war ended, and humanity began to spread throughout space, Dave participated in multiple conflicts, against multiple pirates. However, his reckless and materialistic nature got him dishonorably discharged from the Alliance. Soon after, he fell in with a pirating group. The next 19 years of his life would be spent rising to the top of his pirating group, and expanding his wealth and influence throughout the Terminus systems as a Pirate Lord. Rivals were crushed, colonies sacked, trade routes plundered.

Then, however, Dave grew a bit too greedy, a bit too confident. There was one way he saw that he could make himself the most famous pirate ever known to the Terminus systems, even to Council space! And that was to capture a dreadnought for his own. First he had to learn the location of one, however. Well, that was relatively simple. Dave’s favored interrogation mode was to play, Russian Roulette with a prisoner. He bought an old revolver for an huge sum, and specially ordered bullets to be made for it. The way he did it was simple. Put a bullet in the revolver, spin it, and point it at a finger or a knee cap of his prisoner. Ask his question. When they refused, fire. If it went off, wait for them to quit reacting in pain, and then load the gun again. If it didn’t go off, add another round, and then spin the chamber again.

Through this method he learned that a Turian dreadnought would be going through space, and where it was going. Dave gathered his fleet, and waited for it. What his information failed to mention, however, was that the dreadnought was not alone, and Dave’s fleet was badly outnumbered. It was a slaughter. Dave himself barely escaped alive, in a shuttle, while every pirate under his command died.

A year later, Tevura found him, drinking away in a bar, and offered him a way to regain some of his former fame and glory. He took it.

Positive Traits:
-He fights dirty. Tactical cloak in the middle of combat, poison rounds, dirt in the eyes, whatever he can do to gain an advantage, he does.

-He is name is well known among pirates. Given that he had lead one of the largest Pirate Fleets in all of the Terminus systems before losing it all. He has many friends in the Terminus systems, but also many enemies.

-He was a pirate. He knows how to escape little things such as ‘enemy fleets trying to shoot them to bits’ and ‘Government raids to destroy the base’.

Negative Traits:

-Too describe Dave as a thrill seeker would be an understatement. He constantly puts himself in situations where there’s a chance he could die. Yet, he’s not a death seeker either. He simply feels most alive when death is a hairsbreadth away. Which is why he plays Russian Roulette with captured enemies.

-He’s greedy. Ex-Pirate lords tend to be.

-Ex-Pirate Lords also tend to be over confident.

-He tends to be theatrical. Dramatic.
