Current Trying to get back into the swing of things (for a 2nd time!)

Bio

Hi there I'm Rultaos, or simply Rult as some of my friends call me. I first got into RP'ing on two different sites back when I was in High School. The forums of the games Minecraft and Spiral Knights. Both had game-related RP's, as well as off-topic ones regarding fantasy and sci-fi. This was around 3-4 years ago. I wasn't really good at it back then, but I met a lot of great people and feel like I really improved since then.

For any of you who are curious, this was one of my biggest RP undertakings before I got into this site (My username also comes from this as a tribute to it!). It's not really a very well-written roleplay (or a very well-managed one for that matter). But it really meant a lot to me because of how far it went, how long it survived, and how it inspired my fellow players there. It always fills me with a sense of nostalgia whenever I glance at it in my bookmarks...

I got into RPGuild back when it was still using the old server (the one that got taken down after Mahz got behind on his pay and the providers ended their service without warning). I was pretty bummed when this happened because I was already actively participating in a number of roleplays, and I could only stay in contact with a select few guildmates on the Facebook group. Eventually, the long wait was over, and the site was given renewed life after a few bumps in the road that guildmaster Mahz faced in his attempts to resurrect this place. It was a good day for many including myself when this site slowly started getting more and more features.

2014 was my second year in college and was a very stressful time for me. Mostly concerning academics, with a few occasional problems regarding friends and fellow students alike. Because of this, I had to suddenly drop out of roleplaying for a while in order to have the time to get my real life back in order.

Now, I've returned to the site, and am hoping to get back into the groove of roleplaying and make more great friends and have even greater adventures through whatever huge universe your brilliant minds can think of! If you wanna invite me to play, or even just have a friendly chat about anything, send a message my way and I'll reply as soon as I can =)

For those of you who are wondering, my roleplay interests include: Sci-Fi, Military, sometimes Fantasy, a Fandom one if I'm familiar with the source material, heck I'd be willing to dabble in an Apocalypse setting as well. I'm also willing to try new things as well if it seems fascinating enough. So hit me up with an idea any time and I'd be happy to share my thoughts with you.

Well, I feel like I've used up enough for your time. Thanks for caring enough to read all this, and I hope you enjoy your roleplay adventures as much as I have in the past and the present ^_^

Nicely done Rultaos. I see no issues so I have no other choice but to accept!

Thank you :). Do you mind if I add a compass and matchbox to his equipment? I was thinking that the NATO team would have to be prepared to survive in the wild if things went awry.
Name: Naganori Igarashi
Age: 24
Nationality and military branch: Japanese - Self Defense Forces

Genetic alterations?: None

Psychic evaluation: Being a fairly new soldier, Naganori still has much to learn. He is enthusiastic and optimistic, but does not trust himself in a position of leadership. He is more inclined to follow orders than his own gut instinct. Thus, he has trouble adapting quickly to a changing situation. That said, he is exceptionally talented when participating in a well-executed plan; capable of carrying out his part without fail. Outside of the job he is friendly and outgoing, always trying to bond with his allies and anyone else he meets. In combat, he is dead serious, and expects from himself nothing less than the success of his duty.

Specialization: Marksman, Scout

Weapons/Equipment:

  • Steyr Elite

  • SIG P226 Tactical

  • Pistol suppressor

  • Kukri

  • Combat armor (Includes ballistic helmet and bulletproof vest)

  • Nightvision goggles (For accuracy in the darkness)

  • Gas Mask (in the event of chemical threat)

  • Water canteen

  • Compass

  • Box of matches

Appearance (Normal): He has very short, black hair, usually flattened by any headgear he wears. Short stature, but has a medium body build. He has brown eyes, thin eyebrows, and a clean-shaven face.

Appearance (Combat):

Bio: Naganori was born an raised in Kyoto, Japan. As the son of a man who served in the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force, Naganori was motivated to follow in his footsteps. He lived a fairly uneventful childhood. But enlisted into the JSDF at the age of 20. Serving for 4 years, he is no stranger to the military lifestyle. Without any local or global crisis to call the JSDF into action, Naganori has not seen much of combat, nor has he lost many good men. The most action he has seen are anti-terrorism operations on their homeland. In his time on duty, he has participated in a number of operations against terrorist leaders and propagandists, acting as both intel gatherer and cover provider for strike teams, excelling in both duties.

When word was received of the formation of a special unit to be deployed into the German town of Ashflower, the JSDF opted to send Naganori as their contribution to the effort. Naganori accepted the job and swore to do his best for the NATO team. They hope that his bravery, obedience, and eye-body coordination will be of assistance to the effort.
Welcome to my little corner. I'll be putting in occasional updates about stuff I do here (Not that anyone would care about that ). You can also have a chat with me if you want. We can discuss roleplays, jokes, the meaning of life, why we eat cheese, and pretty much anything else. So yeah... Aside from that, there's not much else to do here...

...

If you want a drink, I've got some Coke and Mountain Dew. Help yourselves.

Roleplays:
Knights of the shaped tables
Immortal Fear

Roleplays I am participating in:
Persona: Lost to Darkness
The Witch Hunt (Reboot)
Star Wars: The Last Light goes Dark

Interest Checks:

Literary Works:
The Mechanical Angel

*If it's not too much trouble. I'd like criticism on my amateur novel (The one under "Literary works"). Be honest with your feedback. I'd like to know where I can improve

Random info about me:

I'm just a male college student who's into Roleplaying. I have a thing for Sci-Fi stuff, and occasionally exploring Alternate Universes or "What-If?" Scenarios for things. I usually hang about in the Casual Section (as I can't stand Free RP's, but I dont trust myself to be good enough for Advanced either). While I do speak my mind, I'm a pretty open minded person who'll usually just go with the flow of things. So don't be afraid to approach me =).

I am also lazy at times however (as should be apparent from my lack of updates regarding my own literary work) XD. But even if I'm not always efficient, I make it a point to get things done. I'm also the type of person who takes promises seriously and, if I'm not joking, takes the words I say and hear to heart.
IC is up. Get posting everyone.

If anyone joins in late, I'll just squeeze them in as late additions to the squad, or through other means depending on the circumstances. I'm also still open to suggestions on magic. I've been tossing a few ideas in my head as well :)

The morning sun shone brightly in the skies above as townsfolk went about their daily business. Zerandar was a gem of a city. South of the Northern Orc Fortresses, West of the Eastern Elven Spires, and in the Easternmost parts of the Western Human colonies, the city was known as one of the most influential human states in the world of Lanquar, and home to the prominent Magic Knight Guild of Excalibur. The Guild is the symbol of the kingdom's power, and it was considered an honor to sit at one of their 5-pointed star-shaped tables.

This morning, there was a commotion going on at the courtyard of the Guild. In front of the large structure made of stone and brick, there was a gathering of Magic Knights. The Guild had received a batch of new recruits, and were preparing to divide them into squads and groups. Separated from the large crowd were the Zodiac squad leaders. And among them stood Karadar Trenact, the Holy Knight of Libra Squad, wearing his casual clothing underneath his cloak of Kyr.

In his hand, he held a scroll of paper that contained the names of his new squadmates, along with some bits of information. The Holy Knight was unsure if he was up to the task. But he had been told that self-doubt would only cripple him. So, he decided he would just treat this new squad the same way his old squad leader treated him: with near-tyrannical "guidance".

The Guildmaster stepped up to a podium in the courtyard. The Guildmaster was an Elemental Knight. He towered above everyone else and had muscles that could easily beat the entire Guild in an arm-wrestling competition (not that anyone would be stupid enough to even attempt it with him). The large man was bald and had a fancy mustache. Rumors said that he used to be a child strongman for the circus before training as an Elemental Knight. No one's ever talked to him about it though, as it always made the man feel uncomfortable.

The Guildmaster was preparing to give a welcome speech to the newcomers, as per standard procedure. In a deep and booming voice, he spoke.

"Greetings, one and all to the Excalibur Guild of Zerandar. You all know why you are here, and that is to stand in adamant defense of the people of Zerandar and her allies. As some of the best Magic Knights in the land, you are expected to be the strongest weapon of the kingdom and the men who live inside it. The food we eat and the ale we drink on our 1,000 gold-coin, ornately crafted tables, are given by the kingdom because we are her shield. It is our duty to give back to her, tenfold what she gives to us. But have no fear, and rejoice as today is the day where a new life begins for each and every one of you. Thank you, and welcome to the Guild. And don't forget to stop by the souvenir shop at the gates to get a free official Excalibur Guild cloak. Have a great first day!"

Karadar's eyes lit up with pure inspiration as their Guildmaster finished his speech, and was one of the first few people to start clapping. The rest clapped only because everyone else was doing it, but no one would be able to tell the difference.

The Guildmaster spoke up once again. "For those Knights that have shown exceptional skills in their evaluation, they will be segregated into the 12 Zodiac squads. I now call upon the squad leaders to gather their new members, and orient them on how the Guild works. When your name is called, join your leader and follow them until dismissed. For those who are not called, try not to feel too bad about yourselves, and join the guides that are waiting for you at the entrance. First up, Aries Squad leader." He said. The Warden Knight in charge of Aries squad stepped in front of the podium and began calling out the names of recruits. Everytime a recruit was called, they would approach their new squad leader, and enter the Guild once the group was complete. It continued on like this for each squad as Karadar waited to be called up to the stand.

After the Blood Knight in charge of Virgo Squad finished her list, Karadar stepped up to the front. The Knight took a deep breath, and unfolded his scroll. "I will now call upon the names for those who have been included in the new Libra Squad. Step forward if your name is spoken... Chance Chazwalider, of the Redshirt Hamlet. Anna of the Flaming Heart, daughter of Syro. Andred Karrion, son of lord Nareth. and Kaiser Durun of the House of Brunswick." ”Hmm... That’s strange. This is much fewer people than the rest of the squads. Well, I can’t question the decisions of the Guildmaster. I'll just have to go with it.” He thought. After finishing speaking, he folded up the scroll and waited for his new squad to gather.
@RabidAnubis

In all honesty, I was expecting more of a "comic sadism" for Blood Knights. I don't have a problem with your character though. True, he won't have as many funny moments as some others, but every comedy needs a few people who give (or at least try to give) some common sense to a group of retarded misfits. I think your character will get along with our Demon Knight as they are both the most logical out of everyone, although it will be interesting to see how a spoiled brat interacts with a cannibal who clawed his way to nobility :)

@Everyone:

I'll work on the first IC post then. We'll just pick people up as we go along on our journey :D

...And the 'map' function will still be a bit of an unknown thing for most players. So I won't judge if your characters get lost and you have to be in the debt of the mapmaker. XD

I'd have thought something like that would be in the User's Manual (which almost everyone read XD). Oh well, let's just roll with it. I also wanted to talk about the character creation thing. You said beforehand that creation was only username and race, yet some people RP'ed customization of their character (which doesn't really fit in with my own post). If there actually is customization, please confirm for me so that I can edit my post accordingly :)
Little busy at the moment to think up of a character T_T. Will get a CS up as soon as I can though. I'm planning to play as an all-human, rookie soldier.
Welcome KurtyKool :)

As you can see, the site is still undergoing construction (so mind the safety hazard signs). Given the community however, I have no doubt that you will enjoy your time here (and find Roleplays that suit your taste. From what you've said, I'd say you'd fit in the Casual and Advanced sections of the site.

Again, welcome and have fun :D
Since everyone's putting up some quirks of their characters, I might as well join in :)

Karadar Trenact...
-Is a stickler for rules, and would rather follow orders than hunches. Even if the orders are borderline idiocy, he'll choose to follow it as long as it comes from a valid superior.
-Chooses the path of negotiation before resorting to combat. He will do so against any foe (Yes, even against a giant, carnivorous worm about to devour everyone)
-Believes that enemies will fight fair (Completely wrong a lot of times)
-Constantly makes sure his allies are in their A-Game. Emphasis on "constantly"
-Attributes all victories and miracles done by himself and allies, to the goddess Kyr. Much to the annoyance of the one who did it.
-Is completely oblivious to sexual innuendo (He has no clue what flirting is)... What did you expect? He was disciplined and indoctrinated during his teens!
-Despite the above statement, he knows how babies are made, and believes that if a Holy Knight like himself had that sort of desire towards a woman, it was a grave sin.

(More quirks ought to pop up during the course of the roleplay)

Added the new Demon Knight spells to the OP (Along with some tweaks and nerfs), for those of you who haven't noticed yet. Still open to any suggestions for Magic in case you guys have any (Blood Knight is looking pretty dry, along with Elementals)..

Also, should I also start the IC with the people we have now, or wait a bit longer?
