Current Trying to get back into the swing of things (for a 2nd time!)

Bio

Hi there I'm Rultaos, or simply Rult as some of my friends call me. I first got into RP'ing on two different sites back when I was in High School. The forums of the games Minecraft and Spiral Knights. Both had game-related RP's, as well as off-topic ones regarding fantasy and sci-fi. This was around 3-4 years ago. I wasn't really good at it back then, but I met a lot of great people and feel like I really improved since then.

For any of you who are curious, this was one of my biggest RP undertakings before I got into this site (My username also comes from this as a tribute to it!). It's not really a very well-written roleplay (or a very well-managed one for that matter). But it really meant a lot to me because of how far it went, how long it survived, and how it inspired my fellow players there. It always fills me with a sense of nostalgia whenever I glance at it in my bookmarks...

I got into RPGuild back when it was still using the old server (the one that got taken down after Mahz got behind on his pay and the providers ended their service without warning). I was pretty bummed when this happened because I was already actively participating in a number of roleplays, and I could only stay in contact with a select few guildmates on the Facebook group. Eventually, the long wait was over, and the site was given renewed life after a few bumps in the road that guildmaster Mahz faced in his attempts to resurrect this place. It was a good day for many including myself when this site slowly started getting more and more features.

2014 was my second year in college and was a very stressful time for me. Mostly concerning academics, with a few occasional problems regarding friends and fellow students alike. Because of this, I had to suddenly drop out of roleplaying for a while in order to have the time to get my real life back in order.

Now, I've returned to the site, and am hoping to get back into the groove of roleplaying and make more great friends and have even greater adventures through whatever huge universe your brilliant minds can think of! If you wanna invite me to play, or even just have a friendly chat about anything, send a message my way and I'll reply as soon as I can =)

For those of you who are wondering, my roleplay interests include: Sci-Fi, Military, sometimes Fantasy, a Fandom one if I'm familiar with the source material, heck I'd be willing to dabble in an Apocalypse setting as well. I'm also willing to try new things as well if it seems fascinating enough. So hit me up with an idea any time and I'd be happy to share my thoughts with you.

Well, I feel like I've used up enough for your time. Thanks for caring enough to read all this, and I hope you enjoy your roleplay adventures as much as I have in the past and the present ^_^

So... Are all of the current characters apps accepted, Silver? You haven't said anything about them yet. Also, who's supposed to act as the Blaze Unit leader?
Do you mind if I reserve a spot, only IF you plan on upping the player cap. If not, it's totally fine :). The RP that I've recently started appears to to have turned into a sinking ship, and I can't save it even if I tried :(. Hence, my schedule may start opening up in the future.

It's just that I need time to read through all of the files to see if anything has changed from the original. I also need time to re-write Clayton's sheet, because I just realized I don't have a back up and will need to start from scratch -_-.

Again, it's completely your call if you want to allow me in or not.
Name:Naganori Igarashi
Callsign: "Crow"
Age: 29

Appearance (Normal) Naganori's face looks like that of a typical Japanese man. Thin eyes, clean-shaven, short black hair, and young for his age. He is tall by local standards, but slightly short compared to his foreign allies. He has a slightly muscular build, but not as large as some other soldiers. He prefers the lack of body mass in order to maximize movement speed, and minimize his size (to decrease the chances of detection) His clothing will either consist of his formal officer uniform, or any casual wear he has on hand. On his back, he has a crow tattoo which he got upon enlisting into his old unit ("Birds of Prey"), as a form of initiation into the unit, as every member has a tattoo of the bird of their callsign.

Personality: In a nutshell, Naganori is a loyal yet pragmatic soldier. If he has orders, he will most likely follow them, no matter how much risk is involved (to both himself and others). However, this does not mean he doesn't have an independent mind. He has his own opinions on a mission, but he prefers to keep it to himself. The reason is not entirely blind loyalty however. Throughout his years in the Japanese Self Defense Forces, he has learned to trust his superiors to know the best course of action. However, if he is forced into a situation where he must choose between orders and something else, he will choose the most practical option for mission completion. This has gotten him some flak from allies as a cold man,but Naganori has his reasons. He believes that jeopardizing a mission simply to save someone's life or accomplish something else is completely selfish, and not the actions of an honorable soldier. This does not mean that he doesn't care for his fellow men, as he will still protect them to the best of his ability, but if the mission's success is put on the line, then he will put its accomplishment above his own personal agendas. In the end though, he will always carry the guilt of the sacrifices he made. He just never lets it show, nor cloud his judgment.

History: Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, underneath a father in the Japanese Maritime Defense Forces. Naganori was molded into the disciplined lifestyle at an early age. Given the political instability around them, people of Japan were brought up to value honor and discipline. Very few of their citizens indulged in the trend of watching PMC's slaughter each other on international TV. More importance was placed on their military might in order to avoid assimilation into the corporate conglomerates of the world.

At the earliest possible age, Naganori enlisted into the Self Defense Forces. With Japan being one of the few remaining countries that weren't crooked, their soldiers were often sent by the U.N. into foreign battlefields as Peacekeeping Forces, to keep the warring PMC's from causing massive damage and harming civilians. Naganori was part of an infantry unit known as "Birds of Prey", specializing in marksmanship and intel gathering. Their roles on the field were to act as scouts for other units, and to provide sniper support. Naganori was seen to be exceptionally gifted. Managing to remember a great amount of details during reconnaissance, and having impressive accuracy as a sniper. His unit was deployed into many parts of the globe, including Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. This has allowed him to be proficient in many languages, and as such he acts as the team's interpreter and translator.

During a deployment into the African state of Nigeria, where PMC forces were causing mass destruction, The Birds of Prey were ambushed on their scouting mission, 2 men were killed, and Naganori went missing. The remaining members of Birds of Prey retreated to the nearest FOB. Naganori was labelled as MIA and wasn't found until 2 days later. Apparently, he had spent his isolation attempting to complete the mission. According to him, he had followed the ambushers to their base and began collecting information on their numbers, weapons, equipment, and security detail. After gathering what intel he could, he made his way back to the nearest FOB to report his findings. The information he collected was pivotal to putting an end to the PMC operations in that area.

Naganori was given special commendation for his actions, and was recommended to the U.N. higher-ups for transferal to the Blaze Unit. They hope that his skills as a scout and sniper will be of use in hunting down Dead Shadows.

Special talents and skills: Being a member of Birds of Prey, Naganori was found to be naturally gifted at handling a sniper rifle, and stealthily gathering intelligence. He is known to have a photographic memory, capable of remembering even the smallest details. This has, more often than not, been of great use to his allies. Due to the various places he has been deployed into, Naganori was able to use his memory to learn several languages, some of which are Arabic, German, and Somali. Thus he can act as an interpreter when in foreign lands. However, he does not know every language, and so his abilities in this field are limited.

Personal weapons and equipment

  • Steyr Elite with a normal and thermal scope, and suppressor. This was Naganori's rifle ever since he was first put into the "Birds of Prey". He has kept it as both a memento and an effective weapon, capable of killing a man with a single shot.

  • SIG P226 Elite Dark fitted with a red Laser-Aiming-Module (LAM), and equipped with a silencer

  • Standard KA-BAR Combat knife

  • Optical Mask. This is a new type of technology for Recon Units. The mask acts as both protective face-wear, and a telescope. The mask allows the wearer to zoom in and out, letting them perform reconnaissance without the need for scopes. It can also be switched into a nightvision mode, allowing wearers to see in pitch blackness without the need to carry heavy goggles.

  • Ballistic Combat Armor

*Tell me if there's anything wrong or OP about him or his equipment, and I'll edit them as soon as I can :)
It's been 3 days, and not a single word from anyone :(. I know we're under no obligation to be fast, but... What's going on with everyone? I know you're around Reap, but everyone else has yet to post (Deserted even said he would be posting soon).

Just note that there's no such thing as them reloading. As in, if you have a gun, it doesn't need ammo. Instead, you press the trigger, the bullet comes out, and then it goes on cooldown, usually with a circular timer to tell you when it can be used again. So you don't actually reload physically.

Understood, editing now...
There, I got a post up. Let's get this squirrel massacre started >:)

Tell me if I got anything wrong with the game universe and I'll be happy to change it. Also, I was originally going to put in some badass combat music for the "EPIC SQUIRREL FIGHT SCENE", but my connection is too slow to run Youtube at the moment, and I couldn't be arsed to wait until it got better. I may edit something in though, if I feel like it.
Arriving at the outskirts of the forest outside town, Apollo suddenly felt a shift in the atmosphere. No, it was not something physical. It felt more like an instinct. He realized he no longer felt as laid back as he was back in the town; he was on edge and ready for action. He could feel adrenaline in his veins, and his mind racing. "Is the game designed to make you feel like this in a combat zone?" He wondered.

Before he forgot, he opened up the Party function he had spotted beforehand, and sent an invitation to Elizea. "I think we share the quest completion if we're in the same party. This should help us cut back on time and effort for collecting the nuts." Apollo explained. "I suggest we split up, but not too far from each other. That way we'll have a higher chance of finding squirrels, while at the same time be able to quickly regroup if they prove too much of a challenge. Shout if you need any help." He continued. Apollo wasn't sure how dangerous squirrels could possibly get, but seeing as they were both complete newbies, there was a chance the starter monsters could beat them (no matter how small and cute they may be). It was better safe than sorry.

After walking a little distance away, Apollo started looking around the trees for the "monsters". At the moment, he was unsure if the squirrels were taking refuge in the trees, or scurrying about on the ground. He assumed that they were on ground-level, because then it would have added fake difficulty for melee-users, but you could never know. Eventually, he managed to find one of the little critters dashing on the grass. Apollo punched his gauntlet-covered palm in preparation for the fight. "Let's see how the melee handles..." He thought.

He rushed at his target, with his right fist in the air, intending to smash the squirrel into the ground. The creature noticed it early and dodged the attack. Apollo's fist collided with the ground, causing dirt to kick up, but doing no damage. Apollo lunged and attempted another hit, but was too slow and allowed the squirrel to evade once again. "Damn, this little guy's fast!" He thought. At that moment, the squirrel launched a counter-attack, pouncing on Apollo's face and biting down with its buck-teeth. "Oww!" Apollo exclaimed, swatting it away. It did a small amount of damage from making contact with the squirrel. Feeling his left cheek, he noticed that a cut was now left there. Looking at his HUD, he saw a small part of his HP bar removed. "I don't believe this... I'm losing to a squirrel?!" He realized, shocked at his own performance.

Deciding that melee wasn't working out for him, he decided to switch over to the Cannon in his Quickswap Slot.

The Gauntlets were put away in his inventory, and he held the gun with both arms. It was a little heavy, and about 2/3 the size of Apollo. It was shaped like a regular shoulder-mounted cannon with a trigger handle and a 2nd grip meant for steadying aim, but had ironsights on the left side (presumably for the use of the gunner). It seemed like a regular cannon with a chamber and a barrel. No special qualities worth noting. The squirrel, seeing the new weapon, ran from tree to tree, taking cover wherever it could. Attempting to line up the sights while backing away from the squirrel, Apollo had difficulty finding an opening. The squirrel changed tactics and started running straight at him, and pounced into the air. Thinking fast, he squeezed the trigger, and felt the cannon recoil as sparks erupted, and the shell hit the squirrel, sending it flying backwards. "That definitely should have done damage!" He thought with a grin. He noted that there appeared to be a short timer that appeared on his weapon icon when he fired. "It seems to have a short cooldown. I suppose that means I can't rapid-fire this weapon. Makes sense, I doubt I'd be able to keep it steady if I fired multiple sots...".

The squirrel recovered from the attack and made another rush, this time doing serpentine maneuvers to avoid the cannon fire. Apollo already knew what to do; he aimed from left to right (and vice versa) as well, constantly putting the crosshairs of the sights ahead of the moving squirrel and fired, once again causing the weapon to lurch upwards. He managed to graze the squirrel with the small explosion, causing the critter to reel backwards and fall flat on the ground. While it was immobile, Apollo swiftly took aim at the center of his target, and fired. With a direct hit, the squirrel ragdoll-ed backwards, and disappeared in a puff of smoke. In the spot where it died, there were 2 Nuts.

Approaching the items, Apollo put the cannon aside and grabbed the items. They disappeared in his hands, and a notification appeared on his HUD:

Nuts Collected: 2/10

He assumed that Elizea was seeing the same thing. Happy to have made a small amount of progress, he put the cannon back on his shoulders, and proceeded to hunt more game. He decided to test out the Gloves after eliminating a couple more squirrels.
Wow silver, that really sucks :(. I've lost work before and it really makes you feel like shit... Oh well, inspiration to work will come back eventually, so don't worry too much about it. Either method works for me, so just do the one you're more comfortable with.

Good news, he isn't a jerk! False alarm everyone. (2 for 2 this group keeps surprising me. I can't tell you how many times I've seen this scenario play out the other way. I think like 5 times.)We have a snippet of conversation to finish up right quick, then we can get back to the game.

Glad to hear it! It's good to see a potential problem resolved before it gets out of hand :). And it goes to show that you shouldn't assume you know people when you really don't

ReaptheMusic said It is, thank you for noticing! :D I wished Lucille would have gotten with Franceaur in the end v-v

Their relationship reminded me of "The Phantom of the Opera" in some ways (Monstrous yet caring and talented man falls for a famous stage actress). But still, it would be hard to have a fulfilling life with a giant roach (Where are they gonna get kids ). Besides, it seemed that Franceaur's true love was music, which he should have no trouble fulfilling :)
Depending on my schedule, I may be able to participate in this :). If not, I'll just stick to the new Metal Gear-ish RP Silver plans to do, to try something new. On the off chance that I can join this though, do you mind if I re-use Clayton from last time? I had grown quite fond of his character before the shutdown.
