Heroes of Beacon - the Next Chapter

Ebon arrived to the gym with a note in his hand. He was sent a challenge and he was going to answer it. He knew who sent it to him and he didn't care why. He was still a bit sore from his last mission, but all in all nothing that would really weaken him. He saw his opponent as he called out to Ebon. he just continued to scowl. "I eat punks like you for breakfast." Be said to Gren Orchid. Taking The Kingdom off his back Ebon took a few steps back and got into a fighting stance with his shield ready to launch an armada of R-Types.

He didn't really notice Skyra talking to Mokuren in the distance. Ebon had a one-track mind to defeat his opponent, and then maybe go find other people to fight. Perhaps even go work on The Kingdom. He had a couple new ideas for R-Types he wanted to try to make, or at least upgrade the current fleet. He'll see what he needs to work on first after he finishes this fight.

Trouble seemed to follow Meirin even back to the college. What she thought was just a quick chat with Grey quickly escalated into some sort of struggle. Grey stood in their way and demanded a written report of their mission. Then he armed himself with his shield as though he expected them to fight their way past him. "This is insane! Grey, what has gotten into you?" Meirin honestly could not believe what he was doing. What happened to him that he'd be so confrontational against Meirin and Ssarak?

Then she picked up Ssarak's message. Rubbing her temples Meirin was starting to get quite annoyed. Alaira did not even bother to tell them anything about what she saw or knew about the mission, and now she's decided that she was the only one who could report it? Taking a few deep breaths Meirin told Ssarak what was in her mind. "I'm not sure if telling Lucilia we have evidence would be enough to stop Grey. From what he's shown us so far, he'll probably tell us to give it to him too. Honestly I don't know what's gotten into his head, or Alaira's for that matter. And for Lyn... Well, Satori told us not to confront Lucilia about her. We don't need to tell her when could talk to Khan later, and if Grey or anyone tries to stop us than we could be certain that Lucilia convinced them to silence us." Meirin didn't really have anything to think about with Alaira. Once again it seemed like Alaira chose to act on her own and expected everyone else to accommodate her. Meirin felt she done that enough during the mission and had no desire to do so right now.

"Grey, aren't you the least bit concerned that Alaira somehow managed to sneak past you and got into Lucilia's office? I don't think she has a report either. I'm not sure what she's telling Lucilia, but if she can just give her a verbal report than we should be allowed to as well. Not only that, but we have sensitive information that Lucilia needs to see as soon as possible. I know she is busy, which is why she needs to get these sooner then later. The sooner she could make sense of them, the better."

Meirin nodded her head at Ssarak. Regardless of their thoughts about Alaira, they still needed to tell Lucilia everything else they found out. Grey asked them if they written a report and admittedly, Meirin did not. Ssarak might have, but Meirin intended to simply report what she knew about the mission in person. Not only that but they also had sensitive evidence to turn over as well. "The sooner we give her our report the better. As you said, Lucilia is a smart woman. Not only that but we have things we need to give her that she'll need to look at." She didn't want to burden Lucilia any more than she already was... But frankly Meirin didn't really care, and the sooner she was finished with this the sooner Meirin could go deal with other things, like Alaira, or resuming her studies. Or going to sleep.

Turning her head slightly to Satori, she wondered about what sort of creature could get inside the college. Maybe something that was already here? At least the college hasn't changed too much since they left. Always something going on to get wrapped up in. All the more reason to get these minor things out of the way. "And I'm sorry to hear how your mission turned out Grey. Maybe once we're all done we could find time to get together and do something? I certainly wouldn't mind getting my mind off recent events." Meirin suggested as she began to walk towards Lucilia's door.

I edited my CS. I changed the powers to improved senses which is currently a pain in his ass right now, and mentioned that his sister was around to help with the construction of the Academy. I guess we can also just assume that he flew over to Europe when he was ready to go, with his sister's help.

Shortly before arriving to Lucilia's door Meirin noticed Grey lingering around. Trying to remember her facts, she thinks that Grey was also sent on a mission and had just returned. How coincidental that they both finished on the same day, or at least returned on the same day. He seemed down however. Meirin would make a point to find and talk to him later, after everything else had been sorted out. But shortly after Grey left Satori entered Lucilia's room. Meirin gulped and wondered why they met. She started thinking and worrying. "I wonder... Is Satori going to side with Lucilia? I always knew they were close friends, and so... If she doesn't testify, or even defend Lucilia... Surely she wouldn't, but I didn't think Lucilia would do this either. I really don't know these people that well." Meirin thought, knowing that both Ssarak and Satori could easily pick up her feelings. She never really bothered to practice making wards, instead focusing on her own magics and other classes that caught her interest.

Wasn't long before Satori left the room and walked over. Ssarak got straight to the point and Meirin was about to add her thoughts when Grey walked up. A tinge of worry hit Meirin. Grey was a friend, but she also knew that Grey worked for Lucilia. His sense of justice was honorable, but his loyalty might also make him side with Lucilia if he knew what she did. Grey was just a man after all, and for all his honor he had his faults. Fortunately for Meirin she didn't need to say anything as Satori covered for the both of them. And she wasn't lying entirely either; Alaira was certainly something that she and Ssarak were going to bring up with Lucilia. Maybe not bring up to Khan, but Meirin wasn't certain. She was also a bit confused about what Satori said. While she spoke about Khan, Meirin could feel Satori send a telepathic message to her about Lucilia. Her finally words also seemed rather vague if she was talking about Alaira or Lucilia. Admittedly Meirin had low opinions about both, but at least she was willing to work something out with Alaira. It would take a bit longer before Meirin would try to forgive Lucilia.

"Mistakes have been made. I'm hoping we can go to Lucilia and try to figure out some sort of solution, since frankly... I don't want to work with her anymore. But she's not really the type of person you can ignore either. I'd rather deal with it now than pretend everything will be fine if I just forget about it. Like it or not we'll be seeing a lot of each other, so I want to try to make things right. But, what about you Grey? How did your mission go?"

The issue with that line of thinking, Ryo, is that Alaira doesn't feel particularly vengeful towards Lucilia. To her, 'could have died' doesn't matter to her at all. Since Lyn is safe, she doesn't give a shit. The most she'll do is yell at her a bit. Hell, if she went with someone more violent like, say, Tyrael, Alaira would probably protect her. A lot of this also has something to do with the fact that Lyn likes her. So I'm afraid she wouldn't help.

Meh, that's just Meirin's line of thinking. She always thought everyone was a bit better than recent behaviors showed. All the more reason why she has to do something about it.

Feeling Ssarak's hand on her shoulder Meirin knew that she had to let go of her anger. It wouldn't do her any good to flip out against Lucilia, partly because she is a teacher of the college, as well as the fact that even if they were to fight in a strait melee, Meirin knew that Lucilia's vampire strength could overcome Meirin's techniques. Perhaps when she was stronger in both magic and combat, Meirin could challenge Lucilia. But for now she'd need to let cooler heads prevail.

"I'm still going to give her a piece of my mind! At least with Alaira we're more than capable of surviving the messes she gets herself into. But for her to endanger Lyn, I can't even begin to imagine what she was thinking! She always seemed like a reasonable woman. I don't know what got into her mind to let Lyn tag along on such a mission." Meirin fumed with anger and was still holding onto her weapon, but she was calming down step-by-step. She wanted to confront Lucilia about this, maybe not fight her, but to let her know that this is unacceptable. Though Meirin would need to think of a better way to prevent this from happening. "I don't want Lucilia to think that she could try pulling something like this off again. I never really thought about it until recently, but Lucilia does seem like the type of person who'd easily abuse or at least use her powers, both magical and authoritative, to get away with these things. And I want to make it clear to her that is not the case!"

Meirin had her fill of corrupt government official in Djarkel. Lucilia would certainly fit there, but Meirin wasn't going to allow the worse of Djarkel seep into the College. She came here not only to learn about her magic, but to get away from all that. The manipulation and cold-hearted treatment of others. It was easy to abuse power and Meirin fought often not to do it herself. She didn't want to live under the rule of someone who would so easily misuse her skills to cause trouble for others. "Perhaps we could tell one of the other teachers first? We don't need to see Lucilia right now. We... We could go to Khan! I'm sure he'd listen, and he's the headmaster. I... I know it's our word against hers, but we have Alaira and Darius to back us up too. And as difficult as Alaira is, I'm sure even she could work with us to make sure that Lucilia get's a proper punishment. And maybe even Satori? She's a master Psychomancer, so I'm sure that she could use her magic to prove that we're telling the truth!"

And yes expect a serious chewing out from Meirin. I know that you intended to have Tyrael or whoever get on Lucilia's case, but I'm going to throw a wrench in those plans by doing it myself.
