Deep Ground Online (Hiatus)

Hibiki woke up with a start. She didn't even remember what happened yesterday. All she could say for certain was that she never made it to the Black City. She hoped she didn't get killed, though since she has never killed anything ever since she started playing, she didn't think she would lose out on any EXP. She also remembered Yoshino's announcement that Deep Ground was going to be shutdown for a while. Hibiki didn't mind too terribly, it wasn't really getting fun for her yet. She got out of bed and washed up. Soon she went into the kitchen and prepared herself something to eat: Fried eggs and toast. She also made some sandwiches for lunch. Once she finished doing all of that she was about to leave when she heard her mother calling out for her. "Mama?"

"Have a fun day at school! I love you!"

"I love you too mom! See you later!"

It was a bit of a walk to school but Hibiki didn't mind. There were plenty of other people to walk with and she knew some friends who would normally wait for her. She met up with them and lingered on the side. It wasn't that she wasn't social, but Hibiki just didn't really know what to say or when to chime in. Hibiki started to wonder though: Who was the Unrelenting Jukebox? And why was he helping her? She really hoped he wasn't a creeper. Looking at her hand Hibiki pretended to claw the air. She didn't have her cat cut, so she doubt her small hands could hurt anyone. Sighing Hibiki just walked with her friends towards school.

Shizuka and Masa woke up suddenly in Aster's den. They had no idea what had happened aside from the obvious: they fell asleep and were taken to Aster's den. Masa was on guard but Shizuka was calm, knowing that she was safe. She could guess that Aster must have found her and brought her away from the fighting. It was a shame, but she suppose it was for the best. She noticed a bunch of the other children leaving, prompting Shizuka to leave as well. "Come on Masa, let's go."

The village seemed to be bustling with a bit more life then before, though maybe that was because everyone was awake now. Shizuka noticed her father in the distance running towards the forest. She was a bit worried and went to make a note of it. That's when she realized, much to her horror, that she had left her notebook in the forest. "Masa, we need to go back into the forest! I left my journal behind!" "Right!" Masa quickly attacked herself onto Shizuka and they both teleported back into the forest.

Smitten Kitten was holding on pretty tightly on the back of the vehicle. She was almost certain no one could even see her. At least no one inside, which is why she nearly jumped when she heard someone call out to her. She almost fell off, but caught herself before she became known as "Road Kill". She turned and looked at the person who spoke to her. "My parents told me not to ride with strangers!" Which was ironic because she had essentially tagged along with a bunch of strangers without even asking them. He offered to at least let her ride inside, which made her more suspicious. However this was an opportunity she could use. "Where are you going?"

@McFazzer I just want to mention that Smitten Kitten hasn't used the Outlaw Declaration yet. She has one, and she will use it when she's going to attack the Moon Rider. At least I assume that you have to use it before it activates?

Hibiki wanted to get on Deep Ground earlier, but she had dinner with her family. Her whole family this time, with her siblings and everything. It was a bit awkward since most never interacted with eachother, not even in Deep Ground. They talked a bit about their success in Deep Ground, what they intended to do with their lives after Purple Crown, and just how their day has been going. Hibiki herself was quiet since she didn't want to interrupt her siblings. When it was her turn to speak Hibiki said with confidence. "I'm going to defeat the Black King!" There was some silence at her table before one of her older brothers sighed. He said good luck, but thinks that Hibiki was too young to try. "I know, but... But if I can defeat the Black King, that would make me pretty strong then, wouldn't it? I can do it! Just watch for me. When you heard that the Black King has been defeated it would have been because of me!"

Dinner ended shortly after. Everyone went their separate ways and Hibiki returned to her room. She looked at the homework that sat on her desk and got to work. Always the dutiful daughter, even if she wanted to do something fun. Fortunately for her the homework was easy, mostly just multiplication and a reading journal. What really made Hibiki sweat was the entrance form to the Computer and Game Club. Hibiki wanted to learn how to make her own video games when she leaves Deep Ground, and figured joining this club would be the start. But some of this stuff... It went way over her heard. She had books for it, but she's never read them enough to know them by heart. This was going to be tough.

Hibiki saved the club application for later. Her eyes were getting tired from looking at all the program lines and code, so she opted to just head to Deep Ground. She needed to go fight the Black King after all.

Starting in the White City, Smitten Kitten did an inventory check. There she saw it: Her Outlaw Declaration. She had spent the earlier tutorial phase to get the EXP necessary to buy one of these. She'll need to wait until she's near the Black King so she could attack him when she's ready. For now she just left it in her inventory. Checking her other weapons Smitten Kitten only had a shortsword and a light crossbow. She equipped the Crossbow; it still scaled to Smitten Kitten's Cat Cut damage, and she could just settle for kicks to do some damage.

Now all she needed to do was find a way to the Black City. She's never actually been there because of all of the Outlaws, and even her stealth wouldn't be good against the ones who were able to detect her with their abilities. Lucky for the Kitten there was a group of Ivory Mask players who were going to head towards the Black City. They rode in their big vehicles, so Smitten Kitten just latched on while no one was looking and rode with them like that. "Just you wait, Black King. I'll defeat you myself!"

History: Hibiki comes from a very wealthy family who has personal bonds in the Deep Ground Online game, with her mother and father both important investors. Her family runs Toho Systems, a conglomerate of computer hardware, program apps, security, and just about anything that you'd imagine is "Futuristic". Hibiki, being the youngest of five, was rather spoiled. Her parent's financial success actually allows them to spend time with their daughter, unlike her older siblings who grew up without them for the most part. It has made some slight tensions, but in the end they're all family.

The biggest issue (If it could even be called that) Hibiki ever had to deal with was her innocence. She thinks that she knows the world, warts and all, and believes that she can actually do something for it. Her parents do nothing to dissuade these notions or even show her what the world is really like outside the walls of her house and the media. So when Hibiki was 13 of course she took part of the Deep Ground Online, using the best her parents would provide for her. She wants to change the world, even if she doesn't really know what's out there.

Hibiki has a grudge against the Black King, Moon Rider, due to a close friend named Onyx Fox. Onyx Fox was a young servant just a few years older than Hibiki, who was basically her sister. Onyx Fox was in the Ebony Strykers and hoped to use her time in the guild to have a bright future, but after the Ebony Strykers disbanded Onyx Fox started losing. Eventually the player of Onyx Fox simply left, and Hibiki hasn't heard from her since. She can't find her friend anywhere, and not even her parents know where she is. Fearing the worse, Hibiki has a grudge against the Ebony Stykers for abandoning her friend and blames them for her disappearance.

Hibiki also doesn't like the Sweepers as they've targeted her for some reason. She hasn't played for long and doesn't really know anyone, so she isn't sure why they are attacking her. They also have a bad reputation for just being highly organized outlaws, so she doesn't believe a word of their "Protecting the weak and fighting evil" creeds. She likes them even less now that they've joined the Ebony Strykers.

Personality: Hibiki is naive to the point of stupidity. While having a healthy amount of caution, she still has her youthful vigor and ignorance of danger, more so in Deep Ground since to her it's all just a game. While she can have quite an attitude and a bad mouth when dealing with bullies, she rarely holds grudges for long unless you really do something horrible. For better or for worse, easy to befriend and is a nice kid, even if she constantly wants to hang out with you.

Cat Cut - Smitten Kitten can always cut her enemies, either with her claws, teeth, or even a kick. Her damage and speed grows stronger with her level and if she actually has a weapon to use. Only scales with melee weapons. Kitten can also use her claws to climb on walls, ceilings, or even her enemies without any trouble.

Feline Grace - Smitten Kitten will take no damage from falling and is unaffected by anything that limits her mobility or speed. She has perfect balance regardless of whatever her terrain is. Smitten Kitten is also capable of great acrobatics and can even do multiple jumps in the air. She can do one jump for each level she has.

Devil Cat Ghost - Smitten Kitten becomes a ghostly creature, capable of phasing through opponents and obstacles. She cannot be harmed in this form, but neither can she harm others. Smitten Kitten is also becomes invisible to those without abilities to detect her. She must come out of her ghostly form outside a solid object; if she doesn't she'll be forced back to where she was before she entered the solid object. She can stay in this form for one minute, but afterwards it will go on a five minute cool down.

Unlocked Later

Tiger Rend - Passively, each of Smitten Kitten's attacks lowers a random stat against her opponent. The stats can continue to become lowered until the target is dead. Smitten Kitten can also activate the Tiger Rend so that each of her attacks causes her opponent's special abilities (Like Avatar Abilities or Feats) to instantly go into cool down. Techniques already already in cool down will have their timer reset as if they were just used. Tiger Rend has a cool down for ten minutes when it's active ability is used, including it's passive ability.

Copy Cat - If Smitten Kitten is near another Avatar who activates one of their avatar abilities, Smitten Kitten can try to copy a version of it that is only 70% as strong. After she uses it, Copy Cat goes on a ten round cooldown. She can use the ability she copied only once during the cooldown, but she'll lose it once she can use Copy Cat again. Smitten Kitten can only copy things that need to be activated to use, so she can't copy a passive ability. She also can't copy abilities that require specific weapons or gear unless she has one herself or something similar.

Nine Lives - Smitten Kitten can create 8 additional copies of herself, each one with only 1/8 of her max health and unable to use any of her feats or abilities except Cat Cut and Feline Grace. Smitten Kitten can dismiss a copy to regain health back based on how much health the copy had (To a max of 1/8 of her total health) and/or to teleport to where the copy was before it was dismissed. Has a ten minute cool down.

I'm sure there are guilds that help leveling up isn't there? It also mentioned that you could get EXP from the market, so could someone who's at a high enough level just trade 10000 EXP to a new character?

Also, how long does it normally take to get to level 9? I noticed that some characters already are at level 3 even though they're 13 years old too.
