The sad thing is that this whining seems to be working. GM, please don't give them an inch, nect thing you know they'll be trying to take a mile.
The entire argument here seems to be based on sionnie's continued stubborn refusal to read the rules. Thar's right, the rules, the regulations, the guidelines.
Saffira, your demand to includr vontent from previous editions simply does not matter here. The argument is about gamemechanics so utterly basic that not even ,4E changed them. And no amount if complaining or whining is going to change that. So shut up and tell your sister to read the fucking rules before you start complaining again.

... I rolled an 8... Sorry for not doing the roll XD... +3 would be 11. The sword slash wasn't really meant to hit.. it was just meant to keep the other bandit back while I bashed the bandit in front of me.

The rapier, a blade for only those with quick hands and minds, for the dexterous and quick. A weapon built for a rogue! While not as small or easy to conceal as a knife it is without doubt an artist tool in the hands of a rogue, many of whom use these tools.
Hell, even Robin Hood, a rogue if ever there was one, used a rapier when things got to close for the bow!
