My sweet girl, Perdita, died in her sleep last night. She was eighteen. I adopted her when I was three, and I can't remember a time when she wasn't around. She fell ill a couple of weeks ago, and my family came together yesterday to say goodbye. We were going to take her to the vet to have her put down today, but I guess she decided to go after she saw all of us one last time. This is so hard.
