Well, Jake was beating the tar out of Chaos for both reasons - both because he was an asshole who deserved a beating, and because he took on a dozen or so fighters while assuming he was invincible. When he slipped, the ass-whooping he received was incredibly cathartic.
Jake was knocked back by the wind - fortunately, not as far as Lucus would have liked. He struck the ground with his Keyaxe, anchoring himself to the ground to prevent himself from being blown back. He had to admit; the old coot was a pretty dangerous enemy. No sense in letting him get up again, no second chances. He acted the tough guy, now let him see what it was like now the shoe was on the other foot.

Jake summoned his second Keyaxe, König Raubtier, a silver-and-platinum color palette of Kaiser Leo. He charged his attack, and attacked with his shotlock; Photon Charge. Lucus was immediately slammed by Jake multiple times, the blond-haired man effectively leaving afterimages with every attack. Every axe blow exploded with the power of light, driven hard by muscles honed by years of exercise and battle.

"Bad man!" he teased. "No! Means! No! Now get lost before you lose more than your dignity."

He danced and wove with ever blow, using his axes to carve through any wind the Nobody could throw at him. The trick here was to avoid letting the man use his wind magic to trap him, and to constantly keep him off-balance.
Well, if I were a boss character, I'd pretty much make sure that I'd be immune to instant death spells.

Doesn't mean that it still can't be used to whammy a villain and throw him off his game.
Renose said It doesn't matter how fast or powerful Lucus is. If he were to get swallowed up by a black hole he would be dead. This goes for just about anyone else in the entire universe as well.

Well, no. Even black holes have a limit to their range.

The guys within that range, however (namely, us and anyone else in Twilight Town), are pretty much screwed.
At least it would distract the villain, giving us an opening.
"Smart move, kid," Jake whistled. "Looks like Dad isn't getting the hint, though."

Then he knelt down and whispered in Ascot's ear.

"Keep him busy. The prick's full of himself, even if he's got the power to back it up. We need to outsmart him if we can't overpower him."

With that, Jake ran forwards, ready to grab the girl the moment she got away from the insane Nobody. He drew Kaiser Leo, gripping the handle tightly with one hand. He readied himself for anything the attacker might counterstrike with.
"You really need to skimp on the details, kid," Jake replied. "There's a time and place for long explanations, and Attack of the Psycho Dad isn't either.

"Still, ya gotta hate these awkward family reunions, eh? All fun and games till the deadbeat Dad decides to show up wasted and ruin the party for everyone else."

He looked around, taking in the battlefield for a moment before trying to find a suitable angle for approach. He tried to keep track of the opponent out of the corner of his eyes, though he knew it would probably take more than that to get a lock on him.
posted. Sorry it took so long.
Jake had barely sat down to enjoy a good show when some clown decided he needed to hog the spotlight. For some reason, though, he seemed to take out his issues on the audience - or a part thereof - rather than the combatants. Either he had a grudge and a petty enough disposition to choose an inappropriate time to take it out, or he's got something more nefarious in mind. Better go check what the hell he's up to.

He wolfed down the turkey leg he bought from the concession stand earlier, then rushed in the direction of the battle, swiftly and nimbly making his way through the hordes of panicked audiences.

However, as he approached, he realized that the winds were picking up rather drastically - something that clearly was too centralized to be a normal phenomenon. Was this psycho causing it? Better double-check. He grit his teeth and braved his way forwards.

He found a group of people trying to defend themselves against the attacker. Among them, he recognized Ascot, and a few of the others from last night.

"Hi there! he talked about the howling of the wind. "Need some more help?

"So who's this crazy bastard who decided to ruin a perfectly good tournament?!"
