Armor wont hinder the dwarves as they are hardy folk who do thay anyway
They prefer to march than to ride anywhere
They tend to not be encumbered by weight when it comes to exercise
And have fun kicking a solid metal crotch piece.
Best thing to do would be to make them things that they would see themselves above doing, like cleaning up the bar after the fight
That will hit them where it hurts the most, the pride when they cant reach the higher shelves and up the wall

"Seems you know your way around a forge cousin, did you come all this way to start trouble? Or is there more behind why you would risk returning here?" He stroked his beard as he spoke and observed the deep dwarf carefully, not just his appearance but his body language.
