@Celaira:
I am not in the RP (I just lurk random threads when I don't feel like doing something a bit more resourceful), but I can still give a bit of feedback on the site design, no?
Mostly I'd just add a bit of padding to the top and bottom the header - it is largely a personal preference, but I think it looks better if header text doesn't quite almost touch the upper edge of the browser or the content area below?
Otherwise looks good to at least me this far; I'd of course be able to say more if I could see an actual site, not just an image of it, and test how it behaves with, say, different window widths. (Feel free to poke at me on Skype, if you'd like - I'm just being invisible as I'm wont to be.)

That is also a thinf, yes... I do admit that far more often than not, I personally want a regular quote, and not a quotemention, though. (In combination with not notification-flooding people, which I by principle try not to do.)

I'd be in support of having varying amounts of posts per topic page, however. Some folks prefer fewer page loads, and loading 20, 30, 50 posts at a time could alleviate some of this hurt. But I don't think Mahz has the pagination set up to accommodate this.

I'd personally like to have more posts per page, at least on PC. Though not on cell due to increased loading times and swipe-scrolling. So I'd prefer it device-specific (more cookies?) if it were to be implemented. It shouldn't be too hard to implement (in my implementations, changing posts-per-page is essentially tied to a single number; not sure how Mahz did it since I've still not gotten to going over the site code ... too many own things).

Edit: I'd still prefer if quotes and quotementions were separate things (without having to manually remove the '@' each and every time if you want a regular quote - I tend to forget to do it)?
You could time-jump to morning and have him wake up (at which point Jack'd describe what transpired in the tavern meanwhile)? How would Kaedan react to the barkeep's offers; simply take the first one and not discuss further?
((Ehh... If he is as tired as you make him seem, I'd understand if he didn't wish to discuss things further at the time being, or even think over them too much.))

- I believe there is very little chance Kaedan would be meeting another played character before a bit later in the next day; almost definitely not in this inn.

(Just throwing out suggestions here.)

What are yall's main uses for a search feature, like what are the kinds of searches you find yourself doing/wanting the most? I'd like to prioritize the features yall want and perhaps yall have use-cases I haven't thought of.
Mahz

I have found myself searching where exactly something was addressed in a specific thread quite often - so I'd second "search thread" (or even the IC/OoC/CSs os a thread) would be useful. And similarly searching by boards. Whatever lets one narrow a search down and not get hundreds of matches when they already roughly know where what they're looking for is.

(Speaking of which, you might want to stop users from searching from silly things like empty strings and single characters. I am mostly certain yo already thought of that, but I thought I'd mention it just in case. I've seen sites with massive databases designed by people who got paid for specifically that which still let you select and return the entire database by entering either nothing or a wildcard.)

@ravenDivinity:
Well, I did point out that in very many instances, the tab key indeed does produce a tab character in some browser environments, or otherwise simply does nothing at all anywhere where it isn't recognized as character input (the latter on at least some systems and browsers). Which pretty much counters the "reserved by browsers and operating systems" notion, which was your only argument back then. (Nope, still autocomplete/offer suggestions on most console programs and tab character in many if not most text-related things.)
(...Next up: users should only be allowed to make linebreaks by shift+entering, since the enter is reserved by forms as the "submit button", and the post text area is essentially a single-field form.)
And then Mahz will put in a toggle in for that, too, just to mess with us. I'm ncertain there are at least a few 1x1 free RPers who'd like the forum to behave more like an IM. (Provided the forum can survive them refreshing once every thirty seconds.)

A new, completely pointless thing to focus on: why are some random lines separating the topics in the subforum-view thicker than others? It was not like that before - I noticed it around when Mahz added the sidebar, I think. It doesn't really bother me, just strange little graphical mishap (occurs on large screens, too).

And should hiders and buttons follow the same color scheme as tags?

I'd appreciate not being directed repeated condescending remarks at. Thank you.
@Frozen Soul: Welcome!

I'm pretty confident that he'd get a better place than a floorspot under the stairs for two rodlin ... unless the barkeep can tell he's foreigner and decides to rob him blind. Or perhaps the bar is full already and the barkeep would scoff something along those lines? Or he'd offer to throw out someone who only paid one rodlin? How'd I know?

All of those things. The answer is "all of those things". (For some reason I am mildly amused by the fact.)
And I second Jack and Yoshua - it might be a while of waiting if you decide to go for an official time-leap to the night. Say, how does Kaedan feel about corruption?
- By my estimation, Aemoten's group is (as of the time being; it may change soon) actually quite significantly earlier in the day than the Zerul group - it was between three and four in the morning when he first went out, and I think it is reasonable to say it is about six in the morning now, whereas it is presently afternoon in Zerul, and has been so for a bit. I'd say the borderhouse is currently about eight to ten hours ahead.

@Nessa:
Uhh... There was no need to purge the entire post just for a couple of minor inaccuraccies in the second half of it. I could somewhat use the cached version of your original post in writing my reply (as I hope to get to doing tonight; I had intended to do so today or yesterday, but that time was entirely eaten by bureaucracy), as much of it as still applies? If anything ends up being not true to you'd picture it, un-Thalerlike or otherwise off, please do let me know, and I'll make corresponding edits right away. Okay?

Posting order recap:
Ashgan with Jillian
Yoshua in Zerul (??? Kaedan)
I in both collabs.

What about fixing the tabindex problem with the post box?
Captain Jordan
There is no "problem" to speak of. Tab is for making tab characters and by now it is rather obvious you're about the only person on the site who cares about actually using it otherwise. (And believe me, I'd personally have been not happy if it actually ever did unfocus the textbox for me, since I keep hitting tab even when it doesn't do anything - force of habit, you see.)
No touching my tab. That is the best thing to happen to this, almost purely creative writing-oriented, site since the site actually working again and single line breaks, and yes, it should be this way by default. It is a site for writing, after all. Shoo.

It works for jumping from post box to post reply button.

It did not do that for me, for instance - it is device/browser-specific function. (Actually, if it did do it, I'd probably have been not too happy with it in here ... hitting tab while writing is so ingrained in me that I keep doing it even when tab has exactly nil effect...)
It is also one move per post, rather than the two-three dozen for average RP post (well, that's me in advanced section, but regardless) - and I'd say it is far more taxing for someone with hand problems to go shift-tab three dozen times than once.

Possibly for those on a console and other non-traditional systems.
Not really relevant with consoles or touch-based systems. Can't really think of any other non-traditional system?
