I would rather it were disabled by default, if it does get enforced... In any case it would require the option to go back and alter the settings (we can't even alter thread titles right now), since I know at least I tend to miss unticking all kinds of boxes. People usually do. They also forget to press "confirm" after altering something.

(Honestly, I wouldn't be so against it if I hadn't seen this kind of system's effects in actuality. Basically, people are constantly reminding the OPs to add them rights. And then discovering they still don't have the rights when they log back on tomorrow, although the OP is certain the rights were added... With people who visit somewhat irregularly or are in different timezones it can especially be a problem.)

If an interface well-coded, then nothing that a standard user writes in should in no way affect how the code functions. It is not a matter of "just replace apostrophes with accents" - it is a matter of bad code. All programming languages I know of have means to have the contents of certain regions ignored, even if they contain functional characters. Making it so that an user can't accidentally or intentionally mess with the code's workings is called "escaping" (at least by the programmers here). I've seen hiders that get along with apostrophes just fine, and I have seen hiders which make the user to escape the apostrophe manually (usually with a backslash, which is the most typical "escape-character" - essentially means "ignore the next thing" -, before the apostrophe).

It is still better to let people have a chance to post immediately. Also, not all roleplays follow the OoC/IC/CSs standard. Just please, no to whitelists. No. If there is a CS tab, then I want people to post their sheets straight there, and not in the OoC. And what if I want to make IC-submission RP?

@Tick: People are speaking about blocklists for specific threads only - you can only keep people posting in a thread you started, they will still be ale to post everywhere else -, not forumwide bans.

Yes, apostrophes mess with the coding here - and this is a glitch, since nothing should be able to do it. Not even "functional characters".

(On occasion, non-escaped fields like that can result in someone finding a way to abuse it, amongst other things.)

Could you perhaps explain what you did? Quoting removes code at the moment, so no one (besides Mahz) can really see what you did there. But yes, hider title content ought not to affect how the hider functions.

Edit: Apparently, adding the typical escape-character before the apostrophe will not prevent the header title from collapsing. (It was how functional apostrophed hiders could be done on the old RPG, amongst other things.) In fact, the escape character doesn't appear to do anything; it's visible.

I would rather see a blocklist than greenlist. Person is being obnoxious -> person loses ability to post. It doesn't actually happen all that often that someone decides to be a jerk, and as such it is much easier for the GM(s) to deal with jerks than everyone who wishes to apply.

As opposed to greenlisting...? How is a person supposed to express interest? PMing set as a part of approving process can and will turn people away. What if I want people to directly engage in IC (IC introductions)? As few steps to let people start interacting should always be preferred over a more complex process, for the sake of the site's health. I am a member to several sites with similar approval systems, and it is nothing but pointlessly annoying. Barely anyone likes it.

In other words: please don't to greenlist-style approvals for anything besides PMs.

Yes, it is very little in terms of length, but since it is entirely Mahz's coding now, I figure he can change it easily enough. (And as I mentioned, I've made a request for just that.) Let's just hope he adjusts the cap...

List of features from old RPG that people probably want

More BBCode. I personally miss:
* nocode/noparse (allows things such as displaying formatting tags - convenient when you want to give character sheet templates to players, for example)
* list
* underline
* changing size (titles, anyone?)

Also, please allow multiple empty lines? (Horizontal lines are neat, though.)
Would likewise like to see read/new posts/you have posted in indicators before threads, just as another mentioned above.

Increase character limit per post?

It currently appears to be capped at 65'535 characters. Could it be extended to at least preferably 250'000 or so characters? I have made single-character posts breaching 50'000-character mark, and some of my nation sheets have effectively made it past 80'000 characters. The world information compendium of a RP I am in contains over half a million characters total, and I have seen plenty of others which go over 100'000 characters.

(While we are at it, could you consider including a tab for storing world information / summaries aside of OoC/IC (and CSs, if it gets added)? OoC is too big to effectively search for info, and if we were to add the world info into opening posts, then currently it would require a dozen "reserved" posts in the OoC's beginning for extensive-world RPs.)
