Patch reached out and grabbed at his alarm clock as the noise machine buzzed loudly in the dimly lit room. He was sure the thing was trying to bore its way into his head as he pitched it over at the far wall and rolled over beneath the sheets, pulling his pillow back up over his head until the drumming in his ears quietened to a dull roar. Hangovers were a bitch, nut at least they seemed to be getting easier with time, his body slowly acclimatising to the toxins he regularly poured into it.

He knew there was something important he should be doing, but right now he just wanted to sleep. If it was really important then someone would've been up to wake him already, and since he couldn't hear sirens or gunfire then it must still be safe to sleep for another few minutes.
Not disorderly, just sleeping. It's only half 10, for God's sake, you should know not to wake Patch until at least midday! :P
As the elevator finally ground to a halt the party were faced with a set of heavy cargo bay doors emblazoned with the sign A23F. Quickly stepping off the platform Saf made her way towards them, watching with a mixture of trepidation and excitement as the access hissed open in front of her. Pausing for a moment she looked back at her new CO, reminded for a moment that she still had to respect the chain-of-command, no matter how informal her commander liked to keep it.

"Sir?" She asked cautiously, "Permission to proceed?"

Normally I'd say wait for the GMs, but since @Light hasn't been online for over a week and @MercuryHg34 for four days I'm happy for us to hijack the thread to keep the story going in their absence.

Glancing around her the only bandits Kis saw were running in the opposite direction, heading away from the battle and leaving their fallen comrades behind. Letting them run Kis carefully lay the crossbow to one side as she pulled out her blades. Slowly and carefully she made her way over to the fallen corpses, driving her dagger up into each one's heart before cutting their coin purses from their belts and stashing them away inside her cloak before checking their weapons and gear for anything useful. As she'd expected most of the bandits were only equipped with low level items well below her notice and not worth the trouble of lugging back to town.

Leaving the bodies where they lay the ranger turned her attention back to the sword fighters Kis was just in time to see the lightning shooting out from the tip of the giant's staff. Swearing to herself she quickly reached up and covered her eyes, the bright burst of light blinding her momentarily as her night vision was overwhelmed by the intensity of the blast. Quickly shaking her head she blinked over towards the man she'd seen engaged with the brute, hoping to see him still on his feet but fearing for the worst.
I'm deliberately holding back on posting for now, want to make Patch fashionably late to the party due to one of his little character flaws. :)
In every town in the world there's a place like The Broken Drum. Sometimes it's nothing more than a friendly farmer's barn with a plank resting on a few beer barrels, while other places are country mansions fully equipped with everything an adventurer could need for rest, relaxation and rearmament. The Broken Drum was neither of these, but somewhere in between, a weathered old building set back from the road, its door open day and night with the warm glow of its fires lighting the courtyard and the stables always stocked with fresh straw.

It had been a quiet night so far and as Geoff, the half-troll barkeep, looked over his domain the only person he saw was his half-halfling barmaid Hilda as she scurry between the table, polishing the battered wooden surfaces, trying to hide the worst of the bloodstains and worse signs of wear and tear. He smiled to himself, admiring her graceful dance, Hilda was a talented little wench who could handle a trayful of drinks and slap down any unwanted advances with equal ease. Geoff was sure their was pixie blood in her somewhere, although he'd never say that to her face.

Settling back Geoff savoured the quiet moment. Something in the air told him it'd be a busy night tonight, but for now he had some peace to enjoy just for himself. Hopefully things wouldn't get too rambunctious, unlike the night before. As he thought back to what had happened Geoff's gaze rose to the ceiling, where the double-headed axe was still buried deeply in the wooden beam.
This is a free-for-all RP designed to let people test out their characters in a historical/fantasy setting, taking the form of a tavern where they can meet with friends and trade stories about their past glories.

The RP is meant as a bit of fun only, but feel free to make use of the beer garden if you'd like to start a brawl. Or the lounge. Or for that matter the main bar, Geoff's over-insured and will probably thank you for damaging the place and the enchantments should allow any property damage to repair itself almost instantly.

There's rooms upstairs if you'd like to start anything intimate with another character (PMs), but Geoff must insist to keep the foreplay down to heavy petting only in the public areas. He's trying to lobby the brewery to make the Broken Drum into a family-friendly pub so he can finally get a carvery installed and they tend to disapprove of live sex shows on the bartop for some strange reason.
So according to @Genni's wonderfully copy-and-pasted from my entry ;) table we've possibly got room for a 'Nick Fury' type Tough/Combat character, a classic 'James Bond' style Gadgetry/Combat character and a powerhouse Combat/Combat character? That or a Tough/Gadgetry character and two powerhouse Combat/Combat characters.

Hmm... can anyone think of an example of a Tough/Gadgetry character who isn't Tony Stark or Batman? I think that level of gadgets and toughness would be a little too high for the rest of us. :P
@TheUnknowable Nice that he was worried about any possible side effects, unlike some other doctors who're just waiting on that malpractice suit for administering medications without checking the patient's allergy information first.

And that's a dig directed at a medical system where doctors are more worried about getting sued than in saving peoples' lives than at any individual doctor. Better they suffer through a few side effects than die, after all if you die how can you sue the person who just saved your goddamn life?
