Vulgar, arrogant, self-serving narcissistic twit?
No worries, as I said this is a relaxed fight, as long as you respond and don't let it die I am fine with some time between posts.
I have always been a fan of the gritty superhero sagas where morality and mortality play a large part. My superhero combatant, General Freedom, who I use in the arena, struggles with his ‘ethical’ right to intervene with his powers against those without or lesser power sets.

In prior superhero RPs I have been involved with, the dystopian setting, the darkness of the meta-story and the struggle for hope have been elements I find enjoyable, drawing me into the setting, and because I am invested, I tend to be more active.

One of my favorite storylines was the Dark Knight: Returns series by Frank Miller. The Watchmen, Judge Dread, Grendel and The Punisher are other examples of comic series that stimulate my imagination. I accept the fact that I am probably in the minority in this regard, but it will not stop me from checking out the progress and join this RP if the setting appeals to me.
Having cleared the alley, General Freedom roared upward to an altitude of 1,500 feet before he stopped. Moving slowly in a drift towards his left, General Freedom watched intently, below him, the Fireen rose slowly, always directly beneath the blue clad hero. Continuing to drift, the hero snarled, wanting to see if the man was indeed mirroring his position, and he was.

Narrowing eyes, General Freedom sparked the ZPE, allowing the sheen of blue energy to wash over his body in a shimmering display. The energy display would alert the aliens, and a thought raced through his mind, would they come or would they allow their hero killer to fight alone. It was something that gave him pause. It was too late now, the die was cast, he was here and they knew it, he was flying and they knew it. It seemed he had to get through the man below him before he could focus on his mission, to locate and destroy the alien command center.

Since the alien had thrown the first energy blow, Steve felt it only right to return it, at least to feel out the abilities of the man. Forming a swirling mass of blue energy around his left fist, the hero paused; inhaling a deeply then discharged the energy, a fraction of the power available to General Freedom at the figure directly below him.

Would the energy streaking towards the man hit him, if he were as good as the intelligence reports indicated, probably not. If it did hit would it damage the alien? Perhaps, but possibly not at the limited scope that was released. Without waiting to see the results, he dove towards a small building’s roof after releasing the energy. Landing with a solid thump, he glanced around to get a lay for the rooftop. It was a forty-foot square with broken and ruined electric equipment, a bashed H/VAC system, maybe two tons of condenser and machinery, and tucked into a niche, a headless doll in a tattered dress.

A swirl of blue surrounded him as he waited to see if the alien rose to meet him, to see if the energy had any affect, to see if earth would survive this invasion.
Notdead since LeeRoy wants us to interact prior to his boarding the train, you and I can post again to generate movement. Since I have already moved you can move forward in your "hunt" and if you stop in car three I will move to car three thus placing our characters within sight of one another, fulfilling LeeRoy's desire to have us together. Presumably he will then board and we can begin this in earnest.
I did notice a discrepancy in Notdeadyet’s post regarding Jynxs position on the train. In the first post Jynxs is at the very back of the train, in the next post he is in the third car. There is no evidence of movement from the first post to the second post to account for Jynxs going from the back to the middle car.

It was about 2am when it started. Experiment 666 aka Jynxs stepped onto the infinity express as it departed from the Airport stop. The high pitched squeek of the brakes confirmed it was time for him to get on. Nobody was on that night, so Jynxs sat alone at the very back of the train. As always, a thick fog began to roll in, surrounding and eventually filling the train, bringing with it the stench of mold, and a 40 degree farenheit chill.."

A few moments after conversing with Nyagna, the train began lurching to a slow stop. "60 seconds until the doors open" Jynxs stated to himself, knowing full well that trains took way too long to stop. He covered one side of his face ad began a charge in his eyes.Jynxs was sitting in the 3rd of the 6 cars that made up the train, so the new passenger might get on from either side, and Jynxs might even have to hunt them down.

It is important to keep spatial relationships in mind when posting because it can throw off someone's actions. If we allow our characters to see one another thus, allowing LeeRoy a skipped posting, we can meet as you move through the train in the middle car.
error
I suppose that's possible. But why can;t you just get on the train at the last car if you want and get the train moving.
Well we are separated by a door now, so you can come aboard in your next post and detail the train leaving.
A sudden, dramatic and yet smooth slowing as the mag-lev train slowed automatically for the next stop. Skallagrim peered through the frost-encrusted windows, a soft hiss escaped as he felt the energies of someone waiting on the platform. Allowing his aesr to fluctuate a moment the heat he generated defrosted the windows in the drivers cockpit in short order.

As the last vestiges of ice slid from the windows, the grinning skull of Skallagrim came into view, as streamers of amethyst energies swirled around his head. Only one person was on the platform, a seated individual with an odd helmet or mask. As the train came into the station, slowing Skallagrim reached out with his energies, a wispy trail of violet light that illuminated the platform, then he stopped as the train skittered by the seated figure.

It was the assassin; Skallagrim had come across him before, a man with a unique talent for the combative arts, a man skilled in multiple ways of dealing death and all of them painful. The very presence of this man was of utmost importance to the Dreamer who walks, for it meant that someone else had found the traits of the man aboard more than a passing fancy.

As the cockpit element of the lead car passed, the skeletal figure raised a gloved hand in a gesture of acknowledgement. Then he was passed the seated figure as the lead car reached the end of the platform, while lights on the dash lit up, Skallagrim heard the soft hissing as doors opened.

In one swift move, the Dreamer pulled open the door and stepped into the harsh lights of the passenger cabin. The lush leather seats and detailing of mahogany spoke of opulence, yet a layer of frost covered them. With quick, sure strides the skeletal being crossed the cabin and stood before the connecting door. It was also frosted with ice. Allowing his aesr to flow freely he created a warming zone that filled the first cabin, defrosting the windows and causing the fog to condense and drip as a fine mist everywhere.

The presence of fog and ice seemed out of place, perhaps it was some part of the man on the train. It seemed counter intuitive since mud would freeze under such cold, and yet it was here. Perhaps the being was not wholly mud, or perhaps he was. Either way, the fog and chill were recorded and would be filed away with the rest of this experience for the Dreamers who slumbered.

As soon as the frost melted from the window and door that separated cars, Skallagrim opened it deftly and then opened the door to the next cabin. As he did so, the seidhr generated warmth interacted with the chilling fog, diffusing it.

Casting a quick glance out the windows as they cleared, he attempted to locate the masked man he had seen seated on the bench. It seems they were here for the same thing, and yet there was no animosity betwixt them, Skallagrim would allow the man to have the mud-creature if he wished. All the Dreamer wanted to was to frame and record the creature so that the eternal sleepers could study him, experience and understand him and his place in the omniverse.
