Not my own words, but: "Enjoy memes and have a good time online, but develop a solid sense of self-worth that is rooted in a reality that doesn't disappear when the battery charge is empty."

Hmmm, recruiting seems to be a little slow. Hopefully we'll be able to attract more people.
Mor Mûl

The Black Road

Stronghold: Cirith Ungol
The many towers and fortifications that dot Cirith Ungol have been repaired and repopulated by the Mor Mûl. Much of its infrastructure has been preserved, making it a valuable asset to control. Cirith Ungol is central to the routes connecting other strongholds of Mordor, and as such, the Mor Mûl is keen on exploiting this to their advantage. Vast caverns below the surface are home to the warband's goblin component, and the last resting places of many trespassers. One such dwelling is home to the warband's prized lesser drakes.

Commander: Saakaf, or “The Falcon”
Saakaf is a high-ranking Black Uruk. His head is shaved bald, though he sports a short beard and manchu-style mustache. He is not particularly tall, standing just shy of six feet, but he is lean and athletic, with strands of whipcord muscle lining his body. He dons the armor of a high-ranking Easterling, rather than the blackened plate worn by the forces of Mordor. The lesser drakes within Cirith Ungol's caverns are considered to be his personal pets, and he rides one when making grand appearances.

Description: By the time the Battle of the Black Gate had been lost, Saakaf and his troops were stationed in western Nurn, and thus, managed to avoid loss of life when Sauron and Barad-dûr had been toppled. When it was realized what had transpired, Saakaf marched his troops northwards, no longer bound by Sauron's command.

Passing through Gorgoroth, Saakaf found Cirith Ungol to be largely undermanned, with evidence of a fortress-wide battle having taken place in the not-too distant past. Gathering the remaining orcs, he took command of the fortress and established his own base of operations, with which to prepare for the power struggle that was sure to break out between the surviving orc hordes.

When he'd learned of the cause of Cirith Ungol's poor state – that is, following the incident involving a dispute over some Hobbit, Saakaf took it upon himself to whip the orcs back into shape. Replenishing lost numbers with fresh troops from his warband, Saakaf tightened his disciplinary noose and reinstated a proper chain of command across the fortress.

Resources:WIP

Agenda and Concerns: Cirith Ungol is a valuable position, as the roads between Minas Morgul, Durthang, Nargroth, and Thaurband branch close to its sphere of control. With this in mind, Saakaf intends to milk this location for profit and establish tolls for passing through. Trade between other strongholds, if they so choose to barter, could earn the Mor Mûl a hefty fortune. The fortress and the many watchtowers that supplant its shadow over this territory threaten to keep the denizens of Minas Morgul out of Mordor, should Saakaf will it. This makes either conflict or negotiation between the two fortresses inevitable.

Resource Allocation:
2 Lesser Drakes (3 pts.)
5 Demi-Trolls (2 pts.)
100 Uruks (1 pt.)
10 Orcish Chirurgeons (2 pts.)
250 Goblin Slaves (2 pts.)
@Aristo
You still here? We are Co-GMs and I think Angel would be alright if we took off with the boats... But I'm not sure exactly what he wanted, so maybe that's not a good idea...

I haven't the slightest idea either; I don't know what he had planned for the students after the I-men scenario, so we're in the dark from here on out.
Hurrah!
Made my intro post. Looking forward to getting back in the swing of things!
Hongli narrowed his eyes as dust kicked up by the Landcrawler's operations fluttered through the air. As the hatches opened and he got a glimpse of the interior, his understanding of what an unorthodox unit the 101st truly was was reinforced. Hongli's previous assignment to the LDF was less than glamorous; border duty, mostly. It was a far-cry from his experience with the Xiguang Principality Royal Guard. Back in the Principality, Hongli was a pilot of the esteemed 3rd Royal Guards, nicknamed the "Black Lancers." It was a prestigious position, and there was certainly evidence he had the privilege of becoming a member due to circumstance of his birth. After fleeing the North, joining the LDF was like starting all over again, without those benefits. The 101st, however, seemed to be a little closer to home than his former, regular LDF unit.
The ramp of the Landcrawler fell open, and Hongli recognized the figure of Colonel Blade, complete with prosthetic arm. He liked the way the Colonel carried himself from he reports - firm and undoubtedly in control, but hardly uptight or by-the-book. Results were what mattered, and ends justified means, regardless whether they were thought up in a military academy textbook or on a paper napkin on the field.
As a fellow trainee to his left approached the Colonel, Hongli followed and saluted in kind.
"Trainee Hongli Lang, reporting, Sir." Putting his given name before his family name still felt strange to him, and his accent was still moderate.
As he saluted, the wolf's eye caught a glace of Landren's flag on his arm, and for a moment he remembered when his uniform used to bear the Xiguang Principality patch instead. He supposed those days would be long gone, but inside, he ached to pilot for his country again - only for the country it used to be, rather than that it had become.
My sheet will be finished shortly!

Angel Eyes has been MIA for a bit; I'm starting to get scared.
I posted, sorry I've been so busy the past few days.

"Can you fly us the rest of the way? We don't have much time left".
"I'll give it a shot," Cheng replied. "It should be easier to find our boat in the air."
The Orion huffed, arms pointed towards the ground, and he and Hanare began to rise atop a quickly-expanding force field. By manipulating the field, Cheng could give them a kind of pseudo-levitation, and pull the two of them towards the boats on what was, in theory, a massive, invisible snake.
When the field took shape and the Squids were suitably high off the ground from the danger of the I-men, Cheng redirected his energy, propelling the field forwards. The pair veered through the trees of the forest, evading the throngs of I-men that leaped in vain to catch them. Cheng cast a glance over his shoulder and Toby vanished behind the branches of trees, still shrugging off a swarm of automatons.

------------------------

When the Squids arrived at the docks, Cheng gave Hanare an unsettled look. There were only three boats to be found, and the house elves of both the Squid and Horse houses were standing beside each other in front of the rightmost ship.
"You're kidding," Cheng sighed. "They're making us share a vessel with the Horses?"
He brought the force field to a halt in front of the house elves, nearly cutting into the lines of students that still had their pens. Cheng dissipated the field and the pair dropped a few feet to the ground, steadying Hanare as she landed. A few Horses nearby gave them dirty looks, but they were returned in kind as the Squids filed into place.

"Cheng!"
The Orion turned around, recognizing the voice of his ill-reputed housemate. Cheng had almost lost track of Hanare when the crowds had started running, and from the sound of her voice, it seemed she'd been caught in a bad way. However, by the time he'd spotted her, Hanare was crouched among a pile of broken I-men and unharmed. Nearby, a young Whale Houser was plinking at the automatons with his fists and Cheng raised an eyebrow at his sudden arrival.
"Hanare? You alright?" Cheng came to her side, helping steady her up and brushing off a patch of dust that'd gotten on her uniform.
"Sorry, I was sure you'd made it out already. Do you still have-"
Before Cheng could finish his question, a band of at least twelve new I-men emerged from the auditorium entrance. They crept into a wide half-circle intending to enclose the pair of Squids and prevent their attendance. Cheng took a step back from the ring, only to bump into a Dragon House student he'd recognized from one of his classes. Thomas... Tony... Something like that. The boy had apparently been deprived of his pen, if his defeated, glum face was anything to go by. Not even his powers had helped, which Cheng found a little strange. If he recalled correctly, the kid was able to mold his arms into twisted shapes, abnormally tough bones transformed into all manner of weaponry.
Hanare, I've got an idea. Ready for a mental takeover?
Cheng grabbed hold of the student, reaching into his pocket for something to provide Hanare with a means to control him. He struggled, protesting and cursing at the Orion, but Cheng found hold of a keychain and tossed it to his housemate.
"His arms can form weapons! Let's use him to get some heat off our tail."
