9:00am Sunday
The beginning of the outbreak

After Kelsey caught the bus to her high school, Dallen made his way to the subway station. He had a truck, but Mecha city was at its' peak of industrialization. The population was 603,488 and the job industry was booming. Almost every massive building within the city gave out hundreds of jobs, mainly in hotel management. At night, the city lit up in all its glory for anyone to see from miles and miles on end. Gambling, prostitution, and entertainment. The city of life, they called it. Dallen had been caught in traffic far too many times to be foolish enough to mess with that anymore. The transit bus went underground the city, as well as over top, overlooking and reaching almost every part of it. The view to work never disappointed.

He was greeted with a fresh cup of coffee when he arrived. His partner, and only friend, Riley, being the sole reason behind it.

"So, I was thinking maybe we could switch up our cases today," Riley spoke plainly. "I mean, my judge does like you better. She told me herself."

"Well, I might take you up on that," Dallen said. "My client is late."

"Eww, that's not good," Riley replied. "For her. So, what about tonight? Bar?"

"You know I can't." He thought of Kelsey. Being a single father made it harder to hang out, but he liked it better that way.

"Whoa, check out the legs on red, by the front," Riley said with a wide smile across his face.

"That's my client," Dallen said as he saw her, handing his half emptied cup of coffee to Riley.

"Hey, bring her out tonight!"

Dallen just ignored him and walked over.

"Ms. Darling, good morning. Excuse me if I'm brief, but you're late. Follow me."

He walked her through the necessary steps as they went inside one of the court rooms. As the last case ended, Elizabeth's was immediately up next due to Dallen having favor with the judge. After a few quick 'yes's' and approval of Ms. Darling taking all of the required DUI classes, the case was dismissed once the client paid off the 638 dollar fee. They were in and out just like that, another easy day for Dallen. He took Elizabeth back out into the larger room which led to the cafeteria.

"That's it, just don't get in trouble again Ms. Darling," Dallen told her as they were about to part ways. He offered a handshake. "I've got another client to meet with, I wish you well ma'am."

It was that simple. Drunk driver's were beaming lights of money to him, but he did honestly hope she would learn from this experience. His cell rang as he watched Elizabeth leave. It was his daughter.

"Dad! Dad, you have to come get me!"

"What did I tell you about lying...?" he started.

"No, seriously dad! Look outside! It's all over the news! The school is on lockdown, I'm in a class-"

The phone suddenly lost reception. Dallen trifled with it for a few seconds, then moved out to the balcony of the floor he was on. He pulled out a cigarette and lit it up as he walked through the glass doors to the outside smoking section. He didn't realize his jaw had dropped at the site before him.

The once clear beautiful day turned dark in an instant. There was a large, thick fog encompassing the entire city. It covered the sun and darkened everything it touched. With a blaring sound that made Dallen's neck hair rise, a siren began sounding throughout the building. It was something he had never heard go off before, but he knew it meant something bad was happening. Could the mist be toxic?

Those trying to leave the 32 floor court building had a hard time, as massive security gates came down over all of the entrances. The siren continued to blare as a small panic started to arise. A few gunshots sounded off from the outside, putting people on greater edge. Not long after, Dallen could see the helicopters coming in. News team 3, 4, and 6. The mist rose high enough to even almost reach them in the air.

"What the hell..."

CHAPTER 1: The Cure

6am: Day 1
3 hours before first contact of infection

Mecha City

The sound of the alarm buzzing gave Dallen an immediate headache to start the day. His hangover didn't help either. The 36 year old lawyer rolled over and turned it off, giving out a sigh as he did so.

"Fuck..." he muttered, massaging his temples.

Just another day. His morning routine consisted of a warm shower, followed by putting on a suit. Eating some hot breakfast, then smoking far too many cigarettes before taking his daughter, Kelsey, to school and then heading to work at the courthouse. This day, however, he was feeling particularly lazy.

"Again? It's early," replied the woman sleeping next to him. She wasn't an every day thing in Dallen's routine, but it was a nice change once in awhile. Her name was Lucy, she was just another lawyer working in the city. They weren't law partners, and in fact usually butted heads against one another in the court rooms. Kelsey hated her.

"Yeah, yeah," Dallen said, turning his body to prepare to get up. "I'm thinking of calling in..."

"Oh? Is that how you keep winning cases? You don't want to disappoint your image, now."

"Eh, you're right," He pushed himself up and did a few stretches. "It's an easy day today, just a bunch of dui's and traffic tickets. Meet for lunch?"

"Of course, we'll be in the same building anyway."

They kissed and went their separate ways. Lucy headed straight for downtown after a quick shower and getting dressed. Dallen prepared breakfast for Kelsey, getting ready himself as he went. By the time Kelsey woke up he was already in his suit and tie, ready for the day.

"I'm not feeling well..."was the first thing Kelsey said to him.

"You sure? Father's can tell when their kids are lying, you know."

"No you can't! I'm seventeen! Those lies don't work on me anymore!"

"You have thirty minutes..."

Kelsey huffed, then threw a stuffed rabbit at him.

RP rules:
This rp is basically an rp between myself and moonfaerie. We welcome any who want to join, all you need to do is make a character with a faceclaim. Look at the character tab for examples. Post in ooc, then join when it fits to do so or collaborate with either of us.

If you leave for an extended period without letting us know, your character becomes an npc that can eventually be killed off. And will, most likely.

Zombie rules:

(Being made up along the way)

1. The term 'zombie' does not exist. George Romero, instead, is famous in this world for vampire books. The term 'walker(s)' is fine. I prefer 'infected' or the 'undead'.

2. The mist - Biological weapon created by the military. It caused the outbreak and can turn healthy people into the infected, just from breathing it in. Many others are immune to it, but no one is immune to a bite/scratch from a zombie.

3. Bites/scratches/fluids all lead to infection.

4. Destroy the brain!

5. Zombies are fast, though may slow down later on (years later).

6. A person turns within seconds/minutes.

7. Blood/guts disguise. Walkers are attracted to noise, sights, smells.

8. ZVirus (biological weapon) was created by a rogue military group, led by General Brooks. It is in the form of a mist, that quickly releases the virus and makes it airborne.

9. There is a cure, a vile created by the rogue military. It is a mixture the scientists have crafted, the main ingredient being human blood.

10. Many survivors have the cure to the ZVirus in their blood naturally. They can withstand the mist, however, they cannot withstand a bite from the undead. All bites/scratches turn.

Finally finished reading all that lol. Good stuff people.
Cyrils my boy, can't leave him behind like that! And even if you figure out nothing, nothing can be quite fun as well.

Well, at least one other soul likes the sound of this haha

Yea, not too many interested in rping witchers, ive tried years ago. I really like your rules, so lemme know if this shit happens.
Im down
Just to throw it out there, if anyone wants to do any down time rping, meaning it doesn't push the story forward and is just for character development, I am always down. 60% of the time, it works everytime. Arcanestatic, either or. Probably during the quest though, to kill two parrots with one stone.

Edit: sorry, that sounded very specific. What I meant was, I'm down for whateva!
If anyone needs to talk with a chemist, Godfrey's only really going to be in the castle grounds for now making sure he's got his mobile shop up in order. Open to collaborations, whether it's on purpose that you meet or simply just passing by and getting curious!

I'm sure Dalious will get quite curious. I'm questing with you, so lets make this shit happen...when its time of course.
