Name - Rika Masaki

Age - 18

Gender - Female

Personality - Rika is a woman of many faces, so many that her true personality is hard to decipher from the unintellectual. She is, at her core, a calculating, playful, and downright dangerous individual that should never be underestimated. Given instruction in how to put on many different personalities at will from an early age, it is difficult to describe just how she is without having given the opportunity to get to know her. Possessive when holding trinkets or a wealth of money, the attitude of this young woman often resembles that of a young rogue stealing from the rich and returning to the forgotten poor; the irony of this is that Rika steals for the fun of it, basing the assumptions of their financial situation on stance, attire, and facial expressions.

Finding it fun to gather information on people of interest, Rika is often nosy to those that catch her interest and will often pry to discover more from people. Along with her excitable attitude, she is a major flirt and takes pride and pleasure in leading people on with her body and words, finding it intense sport and a great stress reliever when she chooses certain people to really have fun with. Erotic situations are not strange to her, yet she still has her self-respect and will refuse those who are trying too hard or trying too little. All of these and more make Rika an incredibly judgmental person, at least initially, and first impressions are the most important thing to her. You get one shot and one shot only, from there working your way up to respect is a harsh road. She is much more suited to getting along with people with some varying emotions, and hates being bored with those who are playing the ‘tough guy’ role too much.

She lies, she steals, and she can even slit a man’s throat with a smile on her face. A beautiful woman with a taste for the darker side of things, Rika has always insisted that she’d never kill someone who didn’t ultimately deserve it. This leads her to believe that she is one smart enough and skilled enough to judge who should live or die. For all her faults, a soft spot in her heart is still held for the weak who are unable to provide for themselves. Were she not blessed with her family and her own life, she believes that she’d be scraping by just like anyone else. Her sympathy is not easily earned, but it’s only when you have nothing else to lose that she takes note of your guts. Bravery without jeopardizing an advantage, an appreciation of the subtle, and a joy of life’s pleasures are gateways to her affection.

Appearance - Standing at 5’10 with an athletic build, Rika’s features are very visibly soft no matter how much work she puts into her body, leaving her a ridiculously gorgeous young lady. She has long bright blonde hair that normally reaches to her upper back, keeping it in a ponytail updo with moderately-sized uneven strands falling from the main bundle. Her eyes are a brilliant emerald shade that seem to glow brighter when light hit’s the surface of her eyes. With pride in appearance, Rika flaunts herself whenever she finds it fun or appropriate. She wears a fitting black tube top that stops a few inches above her navel, fully exposing her midriff. Atop it is a gray leather jacket that is loose fitting and almost always remains unzipped to help expose the feminine figure she has maintained for so long.

Below it are matching gray cargo pants that cling to her lower half comfortably, accompanied by fitting black athletic shoes with white laces and very tough soles. There is no trace of ink anywhere on her body, nor cosmetics. No accessories of any kind can be located; her body is purely standard, without any needless additions to it. With an eye-catching attractive body, she carries herself with open confidence, believing she has the ability to get by anyone who didn’t know her any better. All features of her are expressive of her own opinion of beauty; either you have it naturally, or you don’t, and she knows which side of the fence she’s on in regards to it.

A little occasional drinking doesn’t hurt though, and to that end Rika carries with her a double-lobed wine gourd. The gourd has a double braided purple silk cord with two tassels. The gourd is kept securely to the left hip, and is almost always filled to the brim. It is light brown in color, a small brown cork plugged tightly at the top.

A pair of Sai Rika likes to refer to as ‘Chaos and Harmony’, these blades have been utilized in the past to change the course of history multiple times. Composed of a highly durable yet lightweight metal Rika suspects isn’t easily found on her world, the blades have been taken care of very well despite being so old. Brought to its chosen by a “Bond”, they are best suited for preemptive attacks and quick strikes, making them the perfect weapon for an agile wielder with enough agility to handle them effectively. In spite of parrying not being the ideal method battle when open combat is concerned, she is capable of holding her group with just one of these in hand, standing firm against all but the most physically overwhelming of opponents. Through the channeling of her own natural energy, an abundance of it, she can make the edge of her weapons sharper and deadlier by focusing the energy to increase the ability to puncture and slice. No sound is emitted when the wielder doesn’t want to be heard, this includes summoning the weaponry and enhancing its already generous ability to kill.

Note:These Sai will be the precursor to the Oblivion and Oathkeeper keyblades later on.

Abilities/Talents/Attributes -

Dead Silence / Iron Lung - Rika’s movements, her steps, are all incredibly silent to the point that only the greatest of listeners could detect her steps when she is intentionally sneaking, and even then it‘d be extremely difficult. Without intending to be she will be silent in all open actions due to her lineage and training. With this in mind, do not expect to ever hear her approach with ease, not even for a second. Her steps are too gentle and smooth, her movements too subtle and calculated. Rika is easily capable of getting the jump on others, even those who were expecting her arrival.

She is also capable of going an extended amount of time without drawing breathe, completely dulling audible sound.

Robbed Blind - Rika can steal, not only steal, but steal very damn well to the point that she’d be the last person you’d suspect of the act. Whether lifting important documents or slipping into someone’s pockets for a set of keys, she is not to be underestimated in the field of theft. Her hands are considered featherweight, to the point that you’d hardly feel anything unless she was squeezing you or jabbing very hard. Featherweight hands does not mean she has a weak grip, it merely means it is hard to feel them in say, a pocket, or a bag.

Agility and Alertness - Rika is a very fast, very mobile mover and is difficult to catch without apprehension of what that would mean. One would find that without significant experience in hitting what’s prepared to constantly move at any sign of trouble, she is damn near impossible to ensnare. With her swiftness in avoiding others and evading multiple targets while breaking the situation down before her eyes, she is also aware when a large amount of focus is put on her whether from attraction or hostile intentions. As a thief, she must always be alert for anyone attempting to catch her or even follow her. Her profession is not only stalking, but minding when she herself is being stalked or suspected for anything, meaning her self-awareness is heightened to the point she can literally feel eyes on her.

Agility also includes her ability to bend her body very well. Rika’s flexibility isn’t to be come into question, and it helps her avoid otherwise close calls.

Eavesdropper - Some people can hear really well when they try to, but Rika can do it without trying. Her auditory abilities are arguably one of the strongest traits she has even outside of combat. Verbal secrets are impossible to hide from her if she is in the vicinity, as she’ll single those she wants to hear out and listen to everything they say casually regardless of a crowd nearby or not. It doesn’t end there; she can read lips precisely and has a minimal rate of failure when doing so. She is gifted with exceptional information gathering abilities

Escape Artist - In her line of work, Rika always needs a way out. She has a knack for getting out of grips and bindings, but explaining how is difficult, as she just ‘does it’. Holding onto her without both hands is a chore and is not recommended if you expect to apprehend her. It’s almost like magic. This also extends to her ability to escape in combat whether blinded or stunned. Her survivability is great.

Acrobatic Acceleration - Rika has the skills of both pursuit and escape, reaching her top speed while taking tight corners and sudden stops is no problem for someone of her caliber. She can scale surfaces with relative ease. Her lower body strength is not to be taken lightly. As well as being able to achieve her top speeds quickly, she may also jump very, very far with a good running start. This skill also has it appear as though gravity is no object to her. She can land on her feet from great heights with minimal damage.

Poker Face - Rika can bluff incredibly well, even when looking someone dead in the eye. Her ability to ‘act’ her way out of any situation has so far been unchallenged. Happiness, sadness, she can project almost any emotion at any time in order to accomplish her objectives. This goes hand in hand with her charm, allowing her to seduce others and definitely tempt them, allowing her to do what she will with them or without them. Because of her ability to lie so incredibly well, this makes her a natural at detecting lies. The signs to her are much clearer, and due to her hearing she can detect a noticeable increase in heart rate. Lying to her is one of the hardest things anyone can do, besides kill her of course.

-Bloodline-

There are a handful of abilities that put Rika on a more superhuman level, but not heavily. Her family has passed down these techniques from child to child for many generations. Rika has acquired them at a young age, and has mastered them very well. The key is survival, and gaining the upper hand in any situation.

Visible Crossroad - Rika can create a perfect copy of herself, the only difference being that it is not physically there. Her image is perfectly projected and has no known limited range, and is primarily used for messaging, feints, and escapes. It moves like Rika, it talks like Rika, there is no possible way to distinguish the real from the fake without either somehow being able to know where the real one is, and that’s a challenge on its very own, or anticipating her feint. Though they are not physically there to touch, they can still make sounds of their own. This ability is usually used in conjunction with another. There is no known limit Rika has.

Imperceptible - A state of nearly complete invisibility is achieved via a field created by the users own body. This field cloaks Rika’s body and items, completely disappearing from physical view as well as concealing her shadow. She has is complete invisibility from all basic senses. Her already silent movements become impossible to pick up on by conventional means. Making her presence vanish, she effectively destroys the three primary ways of effective fighting. She is still physically there, and can be touched, but by the time she’s gone she’ll likely be impossible to grab at that point. With her natural energies in a highly reduced state, this also makes her fighting power limited as long as she is in this state.

Lastly, in the effort to completely remove her existence, her body will react to this by slowing organ operation, blood flow and having her body grow cold over time. This puts a considerable strain on her body the longer she uses it, and can kill her if she extends too far.

Accelerated Opener - Quickly deducing her options, Rika may make choices in record time to help her survive an encounter or an overwhelming situation. Exits are decided, strategic options are considered, but more importantly the areas of lethal attack are gone over quickly. Rika’s body will accelerate in rate of attack and speed in order to quickly put her plan into action, though no physical change is noticeable.

Last Stand - “When ones very existence is threatened …”

The ability that overwrites the rules and weaknesses of the last, it is useable only when Rika is in a situation of heavy emotional or physical stress and something very important to her, namely her life or the life of another is threatened. Her illusionary copies will become purely physical versions of herself and do everything she is capable of. Her ability to snuff out her existence comes true and without the faults of bodily harm. Her accelerated skills become faster and even more precise than before. There is no cool down to this ability, nor has Rika learned how to utilize it at will. As a level-headed girl who can find her way out of nearly any situation, this is not seen often.

Other -

- Rika has quite an issue with being referred to as a ‘ninja’. Calling her this has social repercussions that are difficult to recover from ..unless you’re adorable. In most cases you will be labeled as an idiot and won’t be conversing with her for the rest of your life.

- She has a heavy dislike of magical forces such as artificial lightning or fire. There is no real indication as to why this is, but the fact remains.

- She comes from a long line of professional thieves and expert assassins, thus her skill set has as much history as her family itself.
Alright Ruro, Chev, if you two are still alive now is the time to post again. If not, will have to move right along, Remi is awaitin'~
An evening intended for celebration had quickly ended with anger and bitterness. Add the sadness of a private discussion with his daughter about her current role in the village and keeping in mind what exactly the ‘elders’ had implied would be done should she fail to master her Tailed Beast soon. Things for the Hokage used to be so much simpler than they were now; it wasn’t a known fact, but Kenji never really wanted to take the mantle on, things just happened to fall on his lap. It was a beautiful early morning in Konoha, about ten in the morning, and the village had found life it hadn’t had in several months. Standing atop the Hokage Mansion in his everyday apparel, though this time sporting the cloak that held the title of ‘Fourth’ on it, he was leaning against the railing towards the mountain that sported the faces of all previous Hokage before him. Right about now he’d need a little guidance himself; no one wrote a guide on how to raise a daughter who carried one of the most powerful creations in the world within her, nor how to carry this war out from here. The 1st Hokage would’ve wanted peace, but the 2nd Hokage might’ve wanted to establish superiority. Hell, what would that old bastard the 3rd have wanted?

“Lord Hokage!” A small group of ANBU had formed up behind him, kneeling down in respect.

“Report.” Kenji responded quietly, picking himself up from the railing and rubbing the back of his head with a small yawn to follow it. It wasn’t out of disrespect he did this; growing up unless he was active in training or mission work there was always that boredom and restlessness that settled in.

“Our borders are clear, there has been no sign of imperial activity within the Land of Fire.”

‘Surprisingly fast ...’ An entire night to pull back didn’t seem like much, but as fast as the enemy took off so close to Konoha it might not have taken long for others to catch word and follow swiftly. All the eggs were placed in Konoha’s basket, which meant whatever smaller outposts she had scattered throughout the Land of Fire were likely already hit or abandoned out of fear. Konoha was unchained and prepared to take the fight back to the Empire at any time. “That’s a relief, excellent work. You three should take a break, get back to your families for a while.”

The three appeared momentarily confused at this suggestion, looking to one another. Kenji was famed for his use of space-time ninjutsu and his natural talent with the Sharingan and the Mangekyou along with it, but he could become incredibly lax at various times. This was a trait people often believed he acquired from his wife Chizuma, but the truth of it was that Kenji’s attention could be difficult to maintain at certain periods of time. Launching an attack one day and wanting a nap the next, his mannerisms could often change depending on his mood. Nevertheless he was always thinking about everything, and everyone.

“Sir-“

“You three are part of a top-of-the-line unit and I can respect that, having been a part of you once. The least you could do is visit your family and friends, kiss your wife or your husband, and have a good meal before resuming duty.” Yawning, the Fourth Hokage would turn his back to them once more and lean against the railing, visibly looking out towards the faces of the previous Hokage. “Get going before I change my mind.”

“Yes sir!”
“Yes sir!”
“Yes sir!”

The three of them scattered, leaving Kenji to prepare for the upcoming mission briefing.

A harsh knock against Ryozan’s door would prompt even the heaviest of sleepers to awaken. Having been informed yesterday evening that he may be involved in an upcoming mission and to await further details, the most prepared of shinobi would have already gotten to work on setting up tools and having a good breakfast to prepare for the times ahead. The boy seemed eager enough to prove himself and in time would show himself a valuable asset to the Leaf once more …but first, answering the door was to be necessary. Today was a big day for not only those handpicked for the assignment, it was also going to be a big day for the Mist as well. The message of their ‘Mizukage-to-be’ was not well received and would have prompted a fearsome response from the Hokage if not guided down a more logical path. Understanding the Mists stance as well as remembering who he was and what he represented allowed Kenji a night’s sleep to rethink how he was about to handle things today. And there was also the matter of informing Yuna, and he didn’t find that job easy for any man or woman.

“Ryozan, if you’re in there, open up.” Takeo couldn’t wait forever, and the window for the assignment was going to shut soon. In twenty minutes the briefing was meant to start, with or without those being picked up.

Finishing the last of her breakfast and being fully dressed to start her day, Kaede had been the subject of much controversy for the Hyuga clan and Konoha itself in the past 24 hours. Thankfully the Hokage had attempted to make things right between the two parties, and it was with much surprise that her father was willing to allow her on the assignment the Hokage had spoken of very early this morning. The details were kept even from her, but from the sounds she was to serve as a strong speaker for the Hidden Leaf and rebels as a whole and the fighting was intended to be nonexistent. While her mother expected things to be better this time around, her father wasn’t entirely convinced and seemed keen on having the Hokage allow one of his clansmen to accompany her and assist in the mission.

“Mother, where has Dren gone?” she would ask quietly, knowing her father was out visiting members of the Konoha Council, specifically referred to as the ‘Elders’. Two prominent members within Konoha, Kaede hoped that whatever they may be discussing it didn’t involve hiding her away again. Without her friends, those might have been the most painful months in her life. She hoped that she could life her life normally again.

Her mother resembled Kaede strongly with long flowing hair and a healthy tone of skin; she was well-dressed in a formal black kimono, and had long since put her days as an official shinobi of the Hidden Leaf behind her to become a full-time wife and mother. Preparing Kaede for her future role as a wife and mother was her ‘official’ duty, but this woman of the Hyuga clan was no slacker when it came to the art of combat. Encouraging Kaede’s interest in medical skills was not uncommon, but she never allowed Kaede to forget how to defend herself.

“He’s secluded himself ever since his failure. He could be home at this very moment, or he may have wandered out again in self-pity.” Shrugging her shoulders, Kaede’s mother glanced towards the direction of the doorway. “Don’t let your father see you, his standing with our clan is declining, and quickly.”

“Thank you.” Kaede knew her mother didn’t particularly favor Dren for his failures as a shinobi, but was kind enough to know that her daughter cared too much about people that ‘didn’t deserve’ the attention. Bowing her head at her mother, she would quietly step outside of the Hyuga’s primary estate and make for Dren’s home. Strangely enough, she hadn’t seen Karela since that time either. After the battle the girl had vanished, though Kaede hoped dearly that she would be okay. Promptly arriving outside of Dren’s home, she would knock on the door three times hoping he would be there to answer her.

"Dren, it's me. Are you home?"

‘Keep her within sight, she’s regrettably one of our strongest military assets. Should she fall into enemy hands, the rebellion’s power will drop and with it I fear our Hokage may break.’

‘We cannot afford that’ Juri thought to herself, fully armed and prepared for today’s assignment. As ROOT’s leading operative, the ‘Elders’ had charged her on the joint operation. While the official goal was to help escort the primary party, the real objective was to ensure Natsumi had proven mentally capable after yesterday’s outburst of rage. The Hokage had put faith in her, but why wouldn’t he when she is his own flesh and blood? Her superiors felt this blinded him, but drawing out the Fox was likely to kill her, something that no one in the village would want to see. Natsumi was too adored by the village and as such an accident was not a valid option, but there was still hope for her. If she had the right motivation, she could become mighty …as soon as she woke up, that is.

Standing on the Uchiha Estate’s patio, Natsumi had been asleep. The briefing was only twenty minutes away and here she was, the Hokage’s pride, napping like a baby. For several long moments Juri had kept her golden eyes locked onto her, expecting a shift in her breathing patterns or some sort of sign showing she was aware. Juri did not feel that, even for a moment, she could handily counter any attack she would throw at her. Vulnerable. Childish. Weak.

‘Friend’…

Juri slowly reached behind her back and gripped the hilt of her short blade, wondering if this was not the best time to test her reaction time. Her grandfather was famed for his ability to react almost instantaneously to any situation, but Natsumi …what was she all about, really?
Working on moving us forward, college started back up and I have been in the biggest creek of shit without a paddle to bail me out, so I'm pretty stressed about it. I'll try for something tonight.
Then you know what you'll need to do now?
Do you know what development is? I don't say this as an insult, I'm actually asking. Where I'm going with that question is that if Karela doesn't like who she is or starts realizing that who she is isn't what she wants to be any longer, she can work to change that image over time. If you've been one way forever, it can often take time to completely turn that around into a more positive image for you and your character. If you develop her she can change, but I think the time for 'quick personality edits' is too late since her nature is already set in stone. You can work to change her now, if you want her to be different.
Yeah, I think the biggest issue is that so many people treated this like a battle roleplay. We are having fighting, but we don't want it to be nonsensical fighting like the manga's current state. I planned to move some rebels to Suna for the cross faction interactions.
‘That’s not the entire truth, is it?’ Kaede would keep her thoughts to herself, but was more than used to that single, momentary pause an individual would use to come up with something proper to say. Whatever his reasons might have been, the Hyuga was able to recognize that what he was avoiding was something shameful or embarrassing, perhaps just both. Deterred from going on, the portion that Chizuma had provided to her was eaten slowly and without much enthusiasm in spite of the fact it felt like it had been several days since her last meal. Chaos took a lot out of her spiritually and she was by no means currently depressed, simply wondering how many more lives had to be taken for this to conclude. For a path dedicated to seeing life prosper, it was unfortunate she was growing up in a period that demanded it be taken for the benefit of so many others. She understood her duties, but didn’t like what she had witnessed today. Reckless anger from her peers and a desperate attempt to succeed without any concern for the life they were about to take. There wasn’t any thinking about it; Kenta was the enemy, certainly, but no one except Natsumi bothered to hesitate and even then it was Natsumi herself who came the closest to killing him in front of everyone. Missing the humorous exchange between Chizuma and Natsumi, Kaede’s eyes moved from her plate to the ground.

“Some of us more than others.” responded a voice that was certainly not Kaede's.

Widened eyes and a light jolt, Kaede looked to her immediate left to discover the presence of a young woman around the same age of all those present, dressed in the attire of the ANBU unit. Normally dressed in the attire closely linked to the Aburame clan, this person had not hidden behind that sort of outfit for quite some time. Without a mask she had the neutral stare of someone who had no fear, no hope, no happiness, and no pain. Neutrality in all things was essentially what Juri Aburame had become, and though her golden eyes looked across Kaede and Natsumi both, she didn’t appear to recognize them as once being friends. This was how they knew her now and as unfortunate as it was Kaede didn’t believe there was any way they could get Juri to speak to others any more. Ever since the loss Konoha suffered six months ago she had appeared to go into an extended period of solitude, often not even seen in her own compound and instead among some of the villages most veteran of shinobi and tacticians. Classified as ‘The Elders’ to a majority of the village, they were second only to the Hokage and Jonin Commander in authority, but were willing to go directly to the daimyo for requests they feared the Hokage would not authorize. They were not as popular among some of Konoha’s youth as one might expect, but they gained the respect of the shinobi for their cunning and decision-making in times of great pressure in the past. Kaede wasn’t able to know too much about them, in fact most information beyond that was difficult to acquire, but they seemed to have a knack for recruiting only the best. That was where Juri had come in, apparently.

“J-Juri, you scared me. How have you been?” Kaede hoped to start some conversation among them and help introduce an old friend, but the Aburame appeared to look right past her and bring her attention beyond her. Following the gaze, Kaede noticed that Juri’s piercing eyes lingered on Natsumi for several seconds and seemed to look beyond her as well.

It wasn’t Natsumi she was looking at.

“All this time and nothing to show for your gifts other than a tantrum. Several months of naivety.” The months of solitude had done little to withhold Juri’s strong opinions of others, much less caring about the feelings of those she commented on and if it hurt them. Kaede was prepared to try and diffuse the situation, but the elite Aburame picked a new target fairly quickly. ANBU and ROOT’s joint operation was short and by the books, scaling across the perimeter of Konoha in order to silence all stationed Imperials surrounding the village’s immediate vicinity. After the Hokage’s attack towards the now-smoldering garrison, she was encouraged by her superiors to monitor Natsumi closely, while also maintaining a close eye on the village to ensure no one had gotten through. Not only was she a witness to Natsumi’s pitiful performance, but also happened to catch what little participation Ryozan had placed in the fight. She didn’t know much about it, but he was far too comfortable sitting among those who bothered to become involved even if one of the two had been an utter failure in utilizing her true power.

Brushing her onyx black hair lightly aside, her views on Ryozan were hardly as negative as Natsumi’s but were not much higher either. She respected the ability to carry out an order and execute a mission without flaws, yet was unable to see him providing any use to the Hidden Leaf anytime soon. Returning her stare to Natsumi, Juri had shut her eyes and nodded her head towards the doorway. “The Elders request that your mother be present for a special demonstration.”
Oh my god.

You need to finish season 2 and then season 3. Jinora is the most broken bender of all time, she's so overpowered it's unbelievable. Oh, and Bolin kicks a TON of ass in the finale.

And Lin gets much needed development.

And Tenzin.

Unfortunately Meelo and Ikki are on the backburner again, I don't really enjoy it but I don't mind Jinora either, they just made her unbelievably useful.
The feels.

They are real.
