Name: Garret Lancaster
Nicknames:
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Level: 1

Class: Legendary Hero

Hero Class: Shield

Specializations: Buffing/Debuffing, Healing, Brewing

Magic Affinity: Healing and Support

Appearance:

Biography: A college student from the U.S., Garret was a generally easy going young man that spent most of the time simply coasting through school. He is the child of a middle class family, with both of his parents still being together. He also had a younger sister, but due to an unfortunate accident when he was younger, she lost her life. Though there wasn’t really anything he could have done to prevent it and nobody blaming him, Garret still finds himself affected by his sister's loss. It is likely due to that that he finds himself quick to jump at the chance to help someone else when he can.

Working as a part timer at a local cafe while going to classes, his relaxed and helpful nature was a welcomed comfort for the patrons. One rainy night, Garret was leaving work after staying late to help clean up. As he was hurrying home, he sees a young woman trying to rush across the street with her head down in an attempt to keep the downpour from hitting her face. Unfortunately, this prevented her from seeing an oncoming car that was driving to fast and began to lose control from the wet road. Garret, without a second thought, rushed into the street, shoving the woman out of the way. He was not so lucky, as in the second after that he was struck and sent flying, losing his life in that instant. But even as he felt he was fading away, he felt something else pull him away.

Looks like he makes a reference to working back in his home state, so it looks like he’s from the US too.
Updated the bio a bit, is this better? If so, should I post it to the character section at this time?

Merunda, Mirica

“It looks like they have been a target of a raid…” Zachary bites his lip as he takes in the destruction before him. Seeing such a place left in such a condition makes him shake in disgust at whosoever caused this incident. But it was looking at it that got him more distressed as the moments ticked by.

Zachary noticed that it was rather quiet. How long has it been since the attack? And where are the citizens?

Turning to Prince Erik, a serious look is upon his face: “My Prince! I believe that we may need to make haste and see if there are any survivors. Either they need our help or they can tell else whom has done this to them if they have already left.”
I can update the bio to be more comprehensive in a little bit. Was trying to get something out so that I can show I have been working on it. I’ll edit out the bottom bit right quick.

Quick question. Do I still fill in a class if I’m picking a Hero?

I’m planning on picking the Hero of the Shield if I need to say it.
While I’ve admittedly have not run a game myself, I certainly would be willing to help out in what capacity I can if that’s okay.
I’m good. Go ahead.
I guess with the leveling system, it could be a more vague guildline for the players to keep in mind while role playing. Levels are close? Try and keep the fight balanced. Enemy much higher level? Players should be able to honestly show themselves being pushed back or hurt. Players much higher than enemy? They can write how the enemy can barely scratch them or toy with them a bit if they want.

Levels of course, shouldn’t be the only factor that decides a fight. Maybe the enemy has a skill that even if they are lower level, makes them tricky or annoying to fight if the players can’t figure out how to counter it. Players can in turn also find ways through the fight to exploit weaknesses or figure a strategy that may tip the scales in their favor in stronger fight.

The one thing I will say about going this route is that if you can trust your players to role play fairly and not just always somehow have an easy time with everything in the quest because they wrote they did.
