In the glow from her laptop Addison let out a stifled giggle as the YouTube video she had been watching came to an end. Her eyes darted from the digital clock in the bottom right hand corner and the digital note she had plastered on her desktop.

“First Cast readthrough
March 18th
Be there at 7am to set up!”

Eyes back to the clock “2:30am…” Addison sighed as she stood up from her desk, she stretched and flopped down on her bed. Getting comfortable took some time but before long she was fast asleep. After what felt like 5 minutes the alarm clock’s shrill screech made Addison shoot up with her heart in her throat. Am I late?! Did I oversleep? Am I alive?!

A few frantic seconds later when she had calmed down she sprinted in to her shower, if you could even call it a shower. It has two settings molten lava and frostbites which more often than not results in a lousy shower. Today Addison actually got to take a lukewarm one which was rare. But she couldn’t complain since the place was dirt cheap and she was fresh out of college, so expecting more than this dump as a first apartment was just moronic.

With a piece of toast in her hand Addison stepped out of the building in to the rain and hailed a cab. As the trip to the studio that was booked for the reading began Addison took out her calendar to check what had to be fixed. “Food, Coffee, Chairs…. Scripts!” Addison exclaimed quietly to herself and screwed her face up as she reached in her bag and felt around for the bundle of scripts she had copied up the night before. When she finally found them she let out one of the weirdest sounds she had ever made, which made the cab driver stare at her in the rearview mirror.

Finally at the studio Addison hoisted her big bag out of the cab and walked in flashing her crew card to the cards as she passed them, feeling weirdly proud as she did so. The empty room that the reading was going to take pace in was spacious and light even in the dull gray light the rainy weather was casting through the windows. Addison set to work right away with arranging the tables and chairs in to a satisfactory way so that all the actors and writers could see each other while reading through the scrip. Not long after the catering company came in with the food which she helped arrange on a table in the back of the room. She checked her watch 8:45am she checked her list and made some finishing touches when her phone started to buzz in her pocket. She stepped outside in to the hallway.

The name on the phone surprised her Nathan Matthews, her brother. “Nathan?” She answered quizzically.

“Hey sis!” her brothers voice boomed on the other end.

“What do you want?” Addison asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Woah, nice to hear from you too Addie…”

“Well Nathan can you blame me? Last time I spoke to you I had to wire you money… so” She said and squirmed a bit on the spot she stood. “I’m just surprised that’s all.”

Her brother was silent for a moment then “I know I’m a screw up Addie… But I just need some help.”

“How much?” Addison sighed disgruntled.

“No, no I don’t need money! I just need a place to stay… you see I’m in town.” He chuckled.

“You’re in LA?!” she almost shouted and looked around to see if anyone had heard her “God Nathan how about some heads up?!” She scolded him.

“C’mon Addie, just for a week or two…”

She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths “Fine! I’ll text you the address, there is an extra key under the doormat… You get the couch!” Addison said and hung up, she furiously texted her address and stomped back in to the room and slammed the door closed. When she turned around to keep working she yelped and jumped a few inches.

“Mr. Zolner!” Addison exclaimed as she grasped her chest when she saw he boss sitting on one of the couches “You scared me there, what are you doing here so early? The reading isn’t scheduled until 11 right?”

I'm thinking of making Addisons brother a side character who comes and disturbs her at work or something. Do you want me to make a CS for him Miso?

From what I gather the PA's are a group of aspiring young people who wants to get in to the business, and they get to do all the trivial stuff like copying and setting upp for meetings and going on coffee runs. It seems like the thing you guys are planning is more of a personal assistant.

Since Addison answers to both Peter and Max.... but I don't know I may be wrong :P

Addison is quite tall standing at 5’10” and she’s always been told that her long legs are a subject of jealousy. This combined with her good looks has aided her in supporting her through college as she worked as a model on the side. Something Addison prides herself with is her hair which she looks after almost religiously, it has helped her land many ad campaigns for shampoo.

Personality
Ambitious to the core Addison always has her eye on the price and will do almost anything to reach her goal. At school she had a few close friends who really knew her and the rest usually stayed away because sometimes she could come off as a bitch, but only because she knew that she had to distance herself to be the best. It’s not that she actually is mean-spirited, but in the business they all were trying to make it in you’ll have to have tough skin and better to learn sooner rather than later, and Addison is not one to be stepped on.

Even though she can seem abrasive sometimes she is ultimately kind at heart and she always means well. You will have to take her sarcastic comments with a grain of salt… or maybe a pinch… or two. Perfection is something she strives for and if it can’t be perfect it has to be damn well near perfect! She likes to be organized, when she used to model she had all her castings mapped out and color coded in her calendar so she never would be late. This has stuck with her and her whole life is in that small book. Some call it controlling Addison would call it a virtue.

This job has taught her to control her patience, even though Addison speaks her mind most of the time, she knows when to shut up and just do as she’s told. Even when she is being told to pick up someone’s dry-cleaning whilst on a coffee run and walking the casting director’s dogs. She does her job with a bright smile and a witty comment.

History
Addison’s childhood could be seen as turbulent seeing as her mother Molly died when Addison was just 4 years old. But she has chosen to focus on the very few clear memories she has of her mother like her perfume or the way her smile always could cheer her up. Her father Liam was heartbroken for a long time after the death of his wife so he was not always the stellar dad a little girl wishes for but at least he was present and tried as hard as he could to get their life together. Her father being a high school professor got a job at a prestigious school so they moved and started a new life there.

Addison liked their new life and adjusted well to her father’s new girlfriend who he eventually got, her brother Nathan did not fare as well and started to distance himself from them more and more as they grew up. He being older than she was when their father was depressed probably had something to do with the distaste her brother had for Liam. As soon as her brother turned 18 he was gone and now she’s lucky if he sees him at Christmas or gets a card for her birthday. Addison has always been very charismatic and deep down she has always known she would end up in the entertainment business somehow.

She started out being cast in small time modelling gigs for catalogs and smaller ads, but soon enough she got cast in better jobs and she really got in to it. But the longer she stayed in that industry the more she realized that this was not what she wanted to do with her life, she wanted to make movies. So when she graduated from high school she set her sights for film school where she studied film production. She worked hard to get to the top of her classes and finally graduated this year with good comments from her professors.

But the film industry is a hard mistress to seduce and, who would hire a newly graduated producer so she took the opportunity she received in the chance to work as a PA on this promising movie. Even though she has little to nothing to do with the production of the movie she realizes that everybody has to start somewhere and to be this close to the real deal is invaluable to Addison.

You somehow got your hands on a small calendar, either you're snooping around the office or you found it on the refreshment table either way you take a peek and find it belongs to the young production assistant and in it you read some of her journal entries.

Luke Clemens:
“17th of March 2014
Today was the first day I was at the studio and I got to introduce myself to everyone, though I doubt that anyone remembered my name because the rest of the day I was being called honey, sweetie or just plain YO! Except for our director the famed Luke Clemens actor turned director.

Oh yes I did fan-girl when I first met him, internally of course! Who wouldn’t? Don’t you dare judge me! It’s not like I had a poster of him in my dorm room or anything, but I did do one of my final analyses on one of his movies. And having to watch him take his shirt of over and over again worked for me…. Shut up!”

Maximillian Harrison:
“4th of April 2014
Who would have thought that this job entailed this much manual labor?! Today we filmed the action chase scene and there was a lot of falls from high up and in different places and guess who has the job to move around the big landing mats? I mean at first it wasn’t that bad but we work 12 hour days!

And the only stunt man who helped me lug around the big ass mat was Maximillian! The only one! Maybe he felt bad seeing me huff and puff all day. I’ve read somewhere that he apparently is the clumsiest stunt man there is in Hollywood and that he is some sort of disgrace to the craft… I don’t know they all look pretty clumsy to me, it is their job after all.”

So when I got in to work today there was this basket on my desk and the first thing I though was “Oh crap! Did I forget to send one out?!” but apparently it was meant for me, it was sent by the location manager Jake Wilson. It contained some hair care products… does he know about my obsession? But also a list of things that my boss likes to have around, who knew he was this considerate.

It’s weird working with people you’ve been a fan of for years. I mean I’ve followed Jake on YouTube since he began and now I’m working with him, well I get his coffee and other things… for now.”

Wow, we do have some crazy props on this movie all of which I spent cataloging today. To think that Phoebe and her team hand makes a lot of them is even crazier! I don’t think she knows who I am quite yet though… since I had to introduce myself to her for the 4th time today.”

The set was sponsored by a new catering company hoping to score a deal with the studio today, which was awesome because we got to take a longer lunch than usual! I sat down with Leo the costume designer for lunch, and we had a blast! He reminds me of the fashion people I used to work with and that’s about the only thing I miss about that industry, the people. He said he could sneak me a dress from “the closet” and who am I to say no… I’m dirt poor after all.”

“24th of March 2014
How many coffee runs have I made today? 5… count them 5! The people at Starbucks know me by name by now, which probably will help me in the future. 4½ of these runs where requested by Amy the script supervisor. Man she drinks coffee like there is no tomorrow. She seems very stressed which is why I think she needs the coffee otherwise I think she’ll combust into herself.”

Vyacheslav Piotr Zolnerowich-Wahlstein:
“16th of March 2014
I met with my other boss today… well almost everyone on set is my boss but I do have 2 who I answer directly to Max and Piotr or as he said to call him “Peter” for convenience sake. Anyway he was doing this interview and this reporter woman was horrid and was really trying to squeeze some juicy story out of him. I just tried to make him more comfortable and kept bringing him tea which he seemed thankful for.

But the worst was when I brought him his second cup this bitch of a reporter caught my eye and apparently she recognized me or something because she started to ask him questions about me! Like how what he would do if I made a move to climb my way up! All I could do was stand there and stare at this woman and be like “Hello! I’m right here!” of course I didn’t say anything but I did go up to Mr. Zolner after to assure him I would never do anything like that and I hope he doesn’t think less of me.”

Max Goldstein:
“15th of March 2014
So today finally I got a job that has something to do with the thing I went to school for! It felt really good to say F-you to the restaurant and walk away from being a hostess forever… hopefully. Anyway I’m digressing; at about 7am I got a call from Max Goldstein who had read one of my 100 resumes I had sent out and he thought I had potential… So he hired me! Well I’m just a PA but that’s how he got started he said so my hopes are high! He seems like someone I can learn so much from!”

Leila Fox:

”19th of March 2014
I got the opportunity to sit in on castings today which was awesome and also a really grueling process so many girls came and went. I mean I’m used to be on the other side of the table, the one having to perform… well as much as a model had to perform i.e. walk back and forth. But anyway a lot of girls came in and when they went out the door again the casting directors just shook their head.

Until a tall fire head walked in and whispered her name it was Leila Fox! A model I used to work with back in the day, it took every fiber of my being not to wave like a big idiot. I don’t know if she saw me or even recognized me but I was very happy to see her. After she was done and left the room you could see it on their faces… they had found her! I can’t wait to work with Leila again.”

”29th of March 2014
Today I spent the day helping with the lighting for today’s shoot which took soooooo long because Ella the director of photography never seemed to be satisfied with how the shot looked. She’s very meticulous which I respect since I’m exactly the same, I think she made one of the other PA’s cry when she ruined a shot somehow.

I like her though, she’s fun but that might be because I haven’t angered her yet. I hope I’m not on lighting duty again though I have second degree burns all over my hands!”
