MS: Indeed.

-----

Shinji:
Alright, then. Let's go.

*guides you to a room*

Record: *Follows.*
During the following period of time, you will be fully immersed in a mental landscape, and thus will be left unaware of the outside world.
I will also be unable to move more then five feet away at that same time, so are you sure this room will be capable of protecting us from most threats?
<Snipped quote by Stabby>

MS: I have no idea.

Bugger.
Welp, time to get started then. *Points a fingergun up into the air and pretends to shoot it. Nothing happens inside the mindscape.*

Record: *Approaches Shinji.*
Looks like Flicker has found all she can.
If you have a secure room, we can get started.
<Snipped quote by Stabby>

MS: Complex?

Yea.
I've got my own system that presents the aspects of the mind without the grand visual flare I've seen with this one.
But as a guest, I don't have much of a choice for which system is used.
...
Speaking of, what is this system type even called?
<Snipped quote by Stabby>

Hes been caught in a downward spiral for the longest time. If you find anything like what you just mentioned here... It would be a miracle.

Then I'll save that search for later.
Honestly, I've never seen the inside of a mind presented in such a stupidly complex way.
<Snipped quote by Stabby>

MS: he... really hasnt been himself. Not for a long time.

...
Maybe not, but he's still holding on to something.
Even if it isn't healthy for him.
<Snipped quote by Stabby>

*the one you picked up details his prior mentality, specifically regarding his morals*

*Closes it, and ties the pile up with my string, putting a knot at the top.*
These are close to what I'm looking for, but it's not quite it yet.
He wouldn't still be himself and partially functioning if every fragment were gone, or as broken as this, so there's got to be one other piece somewhere.
And I'm willing to bet he holds it closest to his heart.
<Snipped quote by Stabby>

MS: *points to a rather haphazardly stacked pile of notebooks*

That would be what's left of the fundamentals that helpd him Build the EDB, which also forged him into who he was, before Kirina.

*Walks over and picks one up, leafing through it.*
<Snipped quote by Stabby>

MS: I wouldnt be able to speak about it, unless he wanted me to.

... alright.
So what does the fragment we're looking for look like?
<Snipped quote by Stabby>

MS: ah. After Shinji's family was torn apart, he developed strong, parental instincts towards two twins involved in a military project that the EDB was working on in secret. He is very protective of the two. Their names are Echo and Delta.

... pretty sure you could have stopped before mentioning their names.
I feel like that was both personal and confidential info if it's stored up here and the project was worked on in secret.
*Looks around elsewhere.*
Though I am here to help, please, be careful with what you tell me.
<Snipped quote by Stabby>

* you see a statue of what appears to be twin siblings, one male and one female*

Oh?
What's this?
