I find the opposite is true because I just dont have the mastery over many fandoms to be able to be faithful to them. In an original world nothing that I come up with is going to be wrong.

I think it depends upon one's mastery of the fandom they're working within. I could easily create a convincing RP set within the Star Trek universe, on-par with my ability to create one from scratch. But I couldn't join an RP of something that I really have no idea about, no matter how decent the idea appeals to me on the surface - simply because I would be out of my depth in the assumed knowledge on part of the participants.

I think, ultimately, for some people it is easier to create a world within a pre-established one than to create something from scratch.

Honestly, I have a distaste for all the anime roleplays but really, there's nothing one can do except not participate in them.

Hello, I'm Starboard Watch and I'm not quite good at introductions. I'm in the US Navy and have a decent amount of freetime on my hands, especially with this quarantine-lockdown business, so I'm interested in doing some plots. I've got one roleplay running at the moment, but I'm always bursting with writing concepts and I lack the wherewithal to write them by myself, so I'll need a partner to craft a world that's interesting and compelling.

I'm interested in historical settings mainly, anywhere from Roman times to the 60s. But if we want to do something set in the modern age, that's fine too. I tend to write to an "advanced" level, if not in quantity then definitely in quality. I expect with a partner something similar. I'm not really concerned with length so much as how good of a post it is, and how much I can work with. It's just a matter of conscious choice on my part, as I like quality.

I'll lay out, in simple terms, what I'm looking for from a partner below, and then I'll list a few plots of mine that I've already got written, and you can pick to see which one you'd like to do. If none of those interests you, or if I've already found someone to do that plot, we can always brainstorm a concept together. You'll find that I have an excess of ideas.

What I'm Looking For:

• An 18+ person to play a female character.
• Ability to write quality and at least one paragraph replies.
• Some base knowledge on the business we're writing/an interest in learning the setting we're writing in.
• Ability to write punctually and to keep up, or otherwise let me know if you won't be able to write as often.
• Enthusiasm.

My Plots:

The Atlantica Murders

Something is a-miss in the Crown Colony of Atlantica.

The four-island archipelago, a possession of the United Kingdom, is the shining jewel of the Atlantic. Sandwiched between the African and South American continents, it is the getaway location for thousands of Britons annually. A tranquil and peaceful oasis in the chaos of the world, especially in the year 1974 - with the chaos of the Cold War brewing all around.

It began at the beginning of the holiday season, on the bright day of May 30th. A body of a young woman was found in the back-alley of a hotel on the largest island of St. Bede, killed execution-style with a single shot to the head. The crime shocked the entire island, sending the small police force into a panic to deal with the first murder in fifty years. They were not prepared for two more bodies, on two separate islands (St. Dunstan and St. Cuthbert), each with the same cause of death, were found on June 5th. A week later, the bodies of two vacationers - a husband and wife - were found shot in a similar manner in their car on the island of St. Edward.

Feeling overwhelmed, the Governor sent word to London, asking for immediate relief. In response, the British Government dispatched a Chief Inspector from the Metropolitan Police - on administrative leave following an incident in Northern Ireland - to the Crown Colony to catch the rogue killer, before more are struck dead.

OOC: This story takes place in 1974, on a fictional British Crown Colony on a fictional archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic. I will play the British Chief Inspector. You can take the role of a local police officer, or a noisy islander, or maybe even the murderer themselves.

The year is 1965, and the Reich stands victorious over Europe.

The Greater Germanic Reich, stretching from the fjords of Norway to the shores of the Adriatic, from Nanzig to Moskau, is unmatched on the European Continent. With puppet states in the Iberian and Italian peninsulas, the French utterly pacified under the French State formed in Vichy, and colonies across the former Russian Europe, they prove a tough nut to crack for the British Empire and the United States. The British Empire, still clinging to life in Great Britain and with its network of Crown Colonies and Dominions, opposes the Germans in a de-jure state of war but the situation on the ground has turned rapidly into the formations of a Cold War. The United States, having ducked out of the War and stayed neutral in the European Front while soundly beating the Japanese in the Pacific, aid the British Empire against the German machinations.

In the Eastern Reichskommissariats, the Germans wage a counter-insurgency war against the multitude of Russians who have refused to lie down in serfdom and slavery to the German overlords. While the border stretches on the A-A Line, the Eastern Crisis continues to dominate the German military minds, exacerbated by the death of Hitler and the succession of Albert Speer as Chancellor - the title Führer reserved for Adolf Hitler alone. Speer's own inclinations towards the Russians aside, the presence of over a million German colonists leaves his desires to leave the East at an impasse.

Speer's desires to open the Reich to the British Empire, racially bound to the Germans through blood and custom, has led to the invitation of a BBC reporting team working for Tomorrow's World. Typically reporting on the internal culture of Britain, they have uniquely decided to accept the invitation of the Reich's Government and sent a team to the Reichskommissariat Moskauwien, to follow a German anti-insurgency team for six months while in their daily routine on the Eastern Wall.

OOC: I'll be playing a German NCO/Junior Officer, stationed along the Eastern Wall, while you'll play as a British investigative reporter at the head of the team send by the BBC.

The War is going terribly for the Empire of America.

The Southern Front with New Spain is collapsing by the day. The combined forces of the Spanish Empire and the Portuguese Empire have brought the war home to America, which for the last four years has been waged in the colonies in Africa and on the waves of the Ocean. Its allies of Russia, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and the Shogunate of Japan have fallen one by one to the Alliance of Spain, Portugal, the German Confederation, and the British Empire. Even the French are struggling to hold the tide against the combined European coalition.

As the Anglo-German invasion force makes landfall in the State of Newfoundland, the simmering tension of discontent within the Empire have boiled over into open Revolution. In the factories and in the cities, angry workers spurned on by their masters have led the American people into open conflict with the Empire and its loyalists.

OOC:This story is set in an alternate timeline, right around 1918. In this world, Washington was crowned King of America after the Revolution, which led to the formation of the Empire of America after the acquisition of Canada and the Western Frontier. The world is embroiled in their Great War, and the war is going terribly for the autocratic absolute monarchy of America. I'll play as a Guardsman who harbors sympathy for the Revolutionaries, whereas you'll play as the Princess Royal of America - the Emperor's eldest daughter.

This concept is a bit nebulous, but the essence is that you are some sort of person - I'll let you figure it out - contacted by this secret service in the employ of the British Government in the height of the Victorian Era. This takes place in a slightly alternate reality, which I will go into if you decide to pick it up. There's an Indian Revolt going on, where there are some strange things abound about it. I'm willing to work with this idea with you. Mostly I'd just like a serious-run of an Occulist RP set in the Victorian times.

The War in the Heavens rages without end, pitting God against God and Man against Man.

The shadow of War has touched every realm of the Cosmos, and necessitated the call to arms of all against all. In the realm of the Gods, the warrior-bound spirits fight against the tide of darkness encroaching upon their heavenly abodes. The Army of Light, the Heavenly Host, has casualties mounting, spirits ascending to the Godhead with no relief against the Darkness, demonic legions spurned on by the unconscious Corrupter, coming soon.

The Gods know that they are in their Twilight, the prophecies of the ancient Germans coming true all around them. But yet they battle onward, growing ever frantic in their combat against the Darkness to keep the Light of the Unconquerable Sun shining forth.

In one of these battles, an angelic soldier is struck. Not dead, but wounded, he falls from the heavens and onto the material plain. It is here where he will continue the fight, against the material agents of the darkness. But how will he do it, wounded as he is?

OOC: A bit of a nebulous idea here, but basically I'll be playing some sort of low-level spirit, something that your character would identify as an Angel probably. You can really play any character, and most of the RP will be framed in a bit of a slice-of-life kind of way. I'm really open to anything here.

I'm also open to fandom RPs like Star Trek, Star Wars, and Fallout. I can also do general historical roleplays, slice-of-life, and sci-fi in general. I'm very versatile and as long as the idea is well-thought out and makes sense, I can work with it.

I'm open to really any concept you've got, and I think these plot ideas should give you an idea of what I'm into. Feel free to hit me with any of your ideas, whether they align with mine or maybe you think they do. I'm really open to anything!

Fritz quickly rushed to greet his friend as he heard Marc knocking, and swung the heavy wooden door open and beamed with a wide smile, "Marc! You Rotznase!" He gave his friend a quick once-over, and could see some dust collected on his trousers and his shoes a little unpolished from walking, "did you walk all the way here from Königsberg? By God, man, I've never seen you walk to the bar, let alone to my home! Come inside at once!"

He ushered Marc in, but before he could close the door he saw a chunking white Audi pull up to the manor, crossing the bridge and sputtering loudly before coming to a halt right before the entrance of Schloß Komturhof. The two assigned servants, new fellows that Fritz hadn't bothered to learn the names of quite yet, descended upon the car and attempted to make their services known to the two arriving guests - who didn't even seem to give them the time of day.

As you do, you know.

"No! Unacceptable! You know what I think happened here, Herr von Richter? I think you and Willi got in with some Polacke dame in my fair countryside! There's too many of them here, you know..." Fritz smiled devilishly, ignoring Hans' deliberate use of 'Freddi' which was sure to get under his skin. He extended his hand out in warm friendship to Hans, the two shaking their hands eagerly before releasing as Fritz shook Willi's hand, "no matter! The gang's all here! Well, aside from Herr Leutnant, wherever he is..."

Wernher had, as far as he knew, gone off obeying his father's wishes into the service of the military.

"He must be busy playing soldier in the Grunwald. Delusions of fame and grandeur were always his traits!" Fritz laughed, without letting his friends get in a word edgewise, "enough about him! He'll be here when the King allows him to be! Come on, I've sent away from the farthest reaches of the Reich for all of our favorite drinks."

He beckoned for his friends to enter into his castle, walking towards the drawing room where the first stage of their celebrations would begin.

OK, in light of the fact that there are 149 company grade slots in the regiment, I will do some dice rolls to determine how many people of each rank from Leutnant to Major are available to fill vacancies. I would prefer that we are all platoon Commanders, to be honest. The thought of brand new butter bars with no experience holding company command positions go against everything I hold dear in this world.

Majors: Authorized: 12 On Hand: 11
Hauptmans: Authorized: 43 On Hand: 39
Oberleutnants: Authorized: 67 On Hand: 46
Leutnants: Authorized: 39 On Hand: 30

I used a 75% fill rate for Majors and Hauptmans. We ended up with 92% of Majors and 90% for Hauptmans. I accidentally used a 75% fill rate for Oberleutnants, intending to set it at 90%. We ended up with 69% only because I rolled it four times and kept rolling low. I used a 90% fill rate for Leutnants and ended up with 77%.

These are starting Officer shortages:
Majors: 1 (This will be disregarded as a Hauptman will fill this slot and he will eventually be promoted.)
Hauptmans: 4 5 (These five shortages will be filled by Oberleutnants who will eventually be promoted.)
Oberleutnants: 21 26 (These shortages will be filled by Leutnants who will eventually be promted.)
Leutnants: 9 35 (These are the real officer shortages for the Regiment.)

Since there are a total of 46 Platoons in the Regiment, and only 12 platoons will have an Oberleutnant commanding them, there are now 34 platoons commanded by a Leutnant.

We could have two characters in the same platoon as commander and assistant commander or we may have a Leutnant character alone in a platoon with just his Platoon sergeant for advice. but as you know Political appointments might elevate someone to Company Command if you desire. /Ouch! I can't believe I just wrote that. /aargh.

I like it. Roland's character is already going to be a commissioned officer, so I think we've got at least one Platoon Commander squared off. I think the dynamic of having someone already inside will be good.
