She was about to say something else, when a brisk wind began to pick up, and she slammed her mouth shut, turning to gaze towards the Megaton gates. Her eyebrows furrowed in a deep frown, and she rested her hands on her hips. "Getting mighty windy," she commented. Then, of course, it got even more windy, so much so that her golden curls began to billow in the wind.
And then the alarms pierced the afternoon like a barrage of bullets. It was the old air-raid sirens that once warned of the falling nuclear warheads; now they warned of invasion or sandstorms. And given the breeze, Ari could guess which it was. She would be proven correct moments later, when she heard rocks slam into the walls--and the dismal red color of a thick sand-cloud, monstrous in size, began to seep over the walls by the gates, and heading right towards them. It was a nasty sandstorm, this one. Ari stared, almost entranced, mouth gaping open. The storm was easily big enough to engulf all of Megaton and then some.
"Oh dear, Christ!" Ari exclaimed, grasping the arm of Arthur Welsh. "Don't know how much you know about things in the DC area, hell you might be from here for all I know, but I doubt it. But we need to get the hell inside, and quick! These sandstorms have been known to strip the paint from those old junker cars you see lying around. Just imagine what that would do to your skin! Moriarty's, we can take shelter there and have a drink too. Come on!" Ari then turned to face the woman who'd approached Welsh first. Still clutching Welsh's arm in her right hand, she waved for the woman to follow. "You too, come on!" Arianna exclaimed. She then began pulling Welsh towards the saloon, hoping he didn't resist or ask too many questions. Time was something you didn't have a lot of if you wanted to get inside before a storm of this magnitude.

Former Enlisted Army, and very avid gamer. I have fallen hook line and sinker for Dungeons and Dragons, which has actually taken over as my preferred method to roleplay--as both a DM and a player.
However, my roleplay adventures started with writing, and I always will be interested in creative writing. I left for a brief 5 year stint (Hey, that's brief to an elf or dragon, yeah?) but am back and ready to dive into something (though what, I am unsure).
Happily married to my wonderful wife @PrimalArcana, whom I met at this forum (thanks @Mahz) and I can't be happier :D Love to RP pretty much anything. However, my time is much more limited than it used to be. My PMs are open if you want to roleplay, I'm known to do both 1 on 1 RPs and open forum RPs.

Long story short, my mother and I are going to have to pawn all of our electronics to pay the effing rent. And that, of course, means no internet!
This isn't a GUARANTEE, but it is pretty effing likely. So I'll hang out here, and enjoy the RPs until this happens (if it does, probably thurs or friday). It's been amazing hanging out here with you Cara, you've been a good friend and seen me through some S H I T. And you know exactly wtf I'm talking about. So thanks, thanks alot. Without you, Amanda, and Jane for support, I honestly have no idea how I'd have been able to handle that with a modicum of sanity. You rock, Cara, don't let anyone tell ya different!
As for the rest of ya, I'm glad to have had the pleasure of meeting you! Michelinen, Paradign, Krinos, and Deamonbane especially, you guys and Cara really made this topic a second home for me, both at the old guild AND here.

It has long been argued that ginger has natural antiemetic properties, but it's never been truly proven. Soda in those quantities isn't great for you (or the fetus) because of all the sugar, but it's better than being continually nauseous. If the nausea continues, I'd go to the doctor and explore other options -- you don't want to keep drinking soda in those amounts. Other natural stomach soothers include peppermint hard candies/gum, various herbal teas, and there are always bland foods like crackers or plain rice which will help settle an upset stomach.
Yeah, sugar in those quantities isn't the best thing for her, Holmes....but it's not like she's gonna kill herself or her child by drinking it either. It's one of those things that aren't exactly healthy, but it's probably not going to cause permanent harm either. Healthy? Probably not. DANGEROUS? Certainly not.

Well, liquids in and of themselves shouldn't be a problem; but I WOULD question whether or not that much Ginger Ale could be good for you. I used to be a nursing student, and I know other liquids like orange juice or other juices would be just fine. The only thing I'd question with Ginger Ale is that it's soda--but the soda thing is rather debateable anyway. I'd say that you're *probably* fine, I don't see why they could say 7-up is fine but not Ginger Ale.
