Reason behind your username and avatar

My username has quite a backstory to it. My *typical* forum name is SilverWolf. THIS comes from a character from a novel that I one day hope to write and publish. SilverWolf is a half-shifter, who's true form is a "silver fur wolf," a very rare group of wolves with pelts that had a metallic silver color to them. As a half shifter, according to the lore of my world, he can shift into any biological being, but nothing inanimate. Though not the protagonist of my novel in progress, he IS a main character, and my personal favorite.

However, when I joined the guild, I had to choose a different name. At the old guild, SilverWolf was taken. So, I wanted something fitting, but something that STILL had wolf in it. I love wolves, to me they symbolize Alaska and I relate to this animal more than any other. Attaching "Lone" to my usual screen name of "SilverWolf" seemed a perfect fit for my personality. I don't have any friends IRL, and it's only since joining the guild that I've had any close friends at all. I've very much lived my 28 years alive as a loner, and the screen name fits.

Lately, I've felt I associated with it and identified with it a hell of a lot more, with my best friend, someone who I cared for a LOT and someone who I thought cared for me...well, parted ways. We started having a rocky patch, and it just grew from there. It started with a rift, and it grew. And now, I really, truly identify with my screen name even more, as a whole. A Lone Wolf, part of no pack, treading the wilds by himself. That is where my screen name comes from, and the significance behind it.

As for my avatar, I tend to switch it up occasionally. Right now I chose this one because someone I was good friends with pretty much from my first week at the guild, made it for me upon request: MissCapnCrunch. since then, she's been unable to come to the guild due to personal reasons, and I've had very little contact with her because of those said reasons. I chose this, and my sig too, as sort of a memorial for my old friend, because I miss having her around the guild. AND I love Firefly, it's one of the best TV shows ever made.

And no, Tori is not the best friend I was talking about earlier :P She's never done that to me.

What's Bothering You?

What's bothering me? A LOT of personal fucking shit right now. You know, everything just seems to crash down all at once, and just....I'm getting sick of this. I really am; from my personal life with someone I REALLY freaking cared about and lost, to this shit with our home, and now some personal things going on with my family....it's getting to be sooooooooo freaking much. Seriously, doesn't the freaking storms ever let tf up??!!

BUT, it has worked before, magnum. They have used it on OTHER people in the past, who are in a similar situation as he was. They stand to gain another success story if it works, and judging by the prior evidence, it will. We're not talking about something that's never been used, or that has been shown to kill half the people it's given too. So I'd say there's a lot more to be gained then lost here.

This drug hasn't been approved by the FDA and they want him to have it.. Seems like a ! They have a good reason for not giving the boy the drugs (It's because they need the FDA to approve it then they'll give the drug for a fee to the parents).

So if it was your child, and the drug was his ONLY chance to live, and it has successfully treated those in his exact situation, you'd let him die just because it hasn't *yet* been approved by the FDA?
