Blizzard Entertainment supports the tyrannical government of China. Blizzard Entertainment ends the careers of those who dare dissent against their chinese overlords. And they're not the only ones...

In other news, Republicans in Oregon have laid siege to the state capital, shutting down the democratic process. They have the support of right-wing militia groups who have shot at police before.

Bio

I've been on and off this website for six years now. Right now I've only barely got time for one RP, and even then I mess that up. Trying to be more consistent and online more often, because I really do enjoy online roleplaying. Hopefully, one day I'll be able to write as much as I used too. Until then, I shall brood gloomily in the shadows.

Life goes on! Hobbies change and so do schedules. I hate ghosts, so I'm trying to put myself to rest as best I can with a status and bio officially marking my departure. If I'm going to do any writing, it's going to be working on that book I always wanted to finish.

And with that, any advantage Phia had vanished along with Gernev's head. Both of her enemies had direct line of sight with her, and their shields were only slightly raised, making it an easy advance into the carriage. She played out a scenario in her mind where her arrows thunked uselessly against the two's protective shields until they stormed the carriage and the man-at-arms bashed her head in and the knight ran her through. A gruesome death her mother would be very disappointed in. She could run out the backside of the carriage, but that would essentially be abandoning Kirian, the battle, and she'd probably end up being killed anyway.

So while her two enemies held their shields like immovable statues that, for now, not be feeling one of her arrows in their eye, she formulated a plan. She had only a short amount of time before her enemies took advantage of the fact that she wasn't firing arrows, so she must hurry. She slung her bow over her shoulder and turned to face the window. She put her back opposite to the window and leaned out backwards, grabbing the small out-cropping that lined the top of the window. She jumped her legs up until they rested on the bottom of the window that Gernev had previously jumped out of, then she extended her hands upward and she latched onto the roof of the carriage. Then it was just a matter of pulling herself up, which she did with relative ease. She rolled onto the roof of the carriage, her tightly crafted quiver keeping the arrows in place. So, she stood up ontop of the carriage and looked down on her enemies. Okay. So, that solved the problem temporarily. It would be another hassle entirely for her opponents to find a way to knock her off the carriage, but they could easily do it if her last ally was defeated.

Now it was just a matter of helping out lonely Kirian. She unslung her bow and notched another arrow, ready to fire at either the Lady knight, or whichever one of her enemies dared to lower their shields. She thought with a minor satisfaction how it word hurt their arms that much more to lift their shields that much higher.
Like a back-alley brawl. Or a street scuffle. Roadway rumble. That kind of stuff.

Just two "gangs" who hate each other and fight in an alley way. hitting eachother with bricks and pushing and shoving. A hand-to-hand knock-out fight. Maybe someone will die if things escalate too much. That'd be interesting.

Obviously these would be multicultural, gender-neutral gangs. Because these aren't real gangs or anything like real gangs. More like groups of really good friends who despite their differences have a very strong and similar world view and another group of people have very conflicting world views and they are gonna punch each other.

I was thinking of trying out a new system I had on the drawing board, to bring this to a swift end. Once we have our characters made with all of their strengths and weaknesses, I was thinking we could plan it out in OOC. Have a verbal debate on who would win or what would happen if a character did this. What mistakes would the characters make? What moves could they pull off? What if one of them just gets clobbered straight away? What if one of them ran to a rooftop?

We could make an outline on who would take out who and how they would do it, and what the fight would be like. I like the looks of this because it prevents people from accidentally stirring up trouble for doing a move that other players think is a little ridiculous. Also, since the whole fight would be planned out, it would take a lot of pressure off of the roleplayers to do the right move at the right time. And, the whole group could co-ordinate really cool sequences that would make an epic story.
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm pretty sure that it would be allowed, right? I mean, it's combat based. That's basically the only stipulation to create things on the arena. "Person A fights Person B"

I like fights ending.

I mean yeah
I like it too

but it rarely happens
with a thematic ending
Doing a sort of outline for the story? For group fights, which character could kill/defeat who, how they would do it, maybe what events could happen, and then we all do it well written IC.

Like that game Super Fight. We would have a sort of verbal debate as to who would win, or how cool it would be if this character died in that cool way.

That way each player wouldn't have to come up with actions right on the spot and try their best to do some crazy move that results with them with the upper hand? That happens a lot. This could result in some swift and brutal fights if we were to do it right.

No one ever just "Gets hit" in the Arena thread, from what I can tell. They've always got a plan to do some a quadruple backflip over their opponents head, only for the opponent to shift his momentum bounce off the wall and hit the opponent in mid-air

you know the fights just kind of go on
for months

I was just thinking of a way to...circumvent these never-ending fights. But I'm a noobie, I was just curious as to what some some more experiences arena fighters thought.
Yes I am still up for this

I know fights can be ended without deaths but I've seen the ranked fights
and they just end

no one's like "You...*cough cough*... have defeated me...blueh"
uh okay
is that it

okay can someone direct me to an arena roleplay where one character actually killed another character

from what I can tell that's
never happened
The life of an adventurer is an adventurous one, indeed! Travelling across the land, smashing baddies, plundering treasure, exploring dungeons, and leaving before the locals can sue you for the damages!

It is a glorious existence! One of adventure! And adventure!
Lots of adventure!

A copious amount of adventure!
An unhealthy amount of adventure!

On your quest to have every piece of ancient junk in existence, you come across a kingdom in need of heroes such as yourself. A portal to strange realm has opened up outside of town! And the people in the portal probably look, talk and act differently than you do! So, as adventurers, it is your job to go in their and smash them! And steal their stuff!

You, and a group of whatever other chumps- I mean, other adventurers!- you could find, head off to delve into this mysterious portal, and see what glorious loot dwells in its depths...

So that's fun!

Welcome to "Adventuring!", the home of adventuration. Where the only limit, is your limited imagination. Sometimes things can get a little bit out of hand...So we have a few rules, that you need to understand.

Of course, we can't have an adventure without knowing who our adventurers are!

Just write a paragraph or two describing who your character is, what they are doing, why they are doing it, and some other fourth thing, and you've got yourself a piping fresh adventurer, ready to adventurate. Easy! Character sheets are LAME.

You could be a brave knight! A courageous barbarian! A nimble rogue! A wizened wizard! A normal person! A dead-eyed archer! A holy paladin! A mischievous warlock! You can be races other than human! Orcs! Elves! Dwarves! Dwarves are cool. Or maybe some cringy self-made race! Be the most special snowflake as a human-elf-orc-dwarf-dragon hybrid! Oooh! Special! But don't actually. Don't actually do that. You won't be accepted. You can make a self-made race, but don't go crazy, alright?

What would the guidelines be of this marvelous adventure, you don't ask? Allow me to explain!

Just type what you want to do, and it will happen, along with some "hilarious" and "witty" consequences! Watch as the dungeon master fumbles and stumbles to cope with your ridiculous actions!

You can die in unfortunate but humorous ways! But fear not, you can always type up another adventurer ready to die at your command and pop right back into the action! Unlike real life, death has no consequences here.

More rules! Rules down here.

This will be turn-based. Guy one will go, then guy two will go, then guy three will go. Or just two people. Who knows! Maybe no people at all. That'd upset me a little bit, but I'd get over it. Join late? Don't worry! If you're accepted, you can make a sudden and dramatic entrance or something.

@Stekkmen is there a problem?
