Current Checking some stuff out!

Bio

I'm Sterling, I've been writing/roleplaying for 11 years now. I like reading, writing, singing, dancing, horse back ridding and dog training.

I like highly detailed plots and games. While I don't think all posts should be three or four paragraphs long, I think it is harder to have quality with stunted posts.

I'm more into fantasy and historical than sci fi etc. but if the writers are good, that's really what matters.

Please feel free to message me. I'm fairly good at being nice.

And if no one likes Chasity at the racetrack that can easily be a mini expo for her and just sort of set the tone for her. I have other stuff I can put up when I get home Or Provo can if he wants (he should have the file) about a band situation :D

I think soo :)
@Tomahawk They can meet in the past or when the real kickoff starts. Whichever. I'm available for writing now so I can do the past stuff easily but if your schedule is better for when the real deal starts then sure! I think Marni should be alone for a few months before meeting up with anyone she'd be willing to stick around for very long, but the beauty of Past is just that. She could have those months of isolation and still have time available in the past to write...

It's early and I might be rambling. Does that make sense? We should PM shouldn't we :D ?
@Tomahawk Maybe Marni and Robin should join up. Could be an amusing pair.

Three weeks after punching Tara in the face, three weeks since her last curling iron session, three weeks since she’d had a hot shower. Could that really be true? Three weeks?

Marni scrubbed her fingers over her face hiding a yawn as she trudged on. Following some small highways was the easiest way to maintain her route westward, and for the most part she had spent the time alone. Which, when considering the alternative, was welcome.

Bringing her fingers away she saw how grimy they were and felt alarm and disgust with herself. Even when on tour she had never gotten this unappealing. What would she give for a bath…Or a brush…or a Neutrogena face cleanser mask with cucumber under eye circle concealer… Maybe some Crest 3D whitening strips?

Day dreaming kept Marni going for some time before coming to a small town. One of those towns with two stop lights. She hovered on the edge of the town for some time watching, waiting. She didn’t see much movement… Marni wasn’t so sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. At this point it was a mixed bag. Did that mean most of the people were well and held up in their homes? Or sick and out wandering the planes?

Were the few straggling around survivors or victims?

Reaching to her pack she grabbed her beretta and pulled it out of the side pocket, shoving it into her coat pocket carefully before making her way towards the houses on the outskirts of the ‘town.’ Even if they didn’t have an oil free facial scrub, perhaps some of the abandoned ones had bottled water.

Marni had a water purification kit in her pack, but she liked to save supplies wherever possible. If she could drink someone else’s water she’d be twice as happy. Edging along, standing stone still whenever she heard a twig break or the wind bustle through the leafs of a tree, Marni took a good 20 minutes to cross a distance that should have taken her 5.

Again, when she was finally at the back porch she stood and listened. There was no sound coming from the house. It looked vacant…The window blinds pulled down…no cars nearby…no pets wandering around.

This was as good a bet as any. Stepping up the porch Marni pulled the screen door open and moved towards the back door. She reached for the handle and nearly jumped out of her skin when the door was opened from the inside.

Considering the difficulties she had seen with the various infected beforehand she doubted they could handle a knob. Still she was clutching her chest and panting as an older man stood there staring at her.

“What are you doing?” He snapped. Marni backed up quickly. The man didn’t look sick but maybe he was just in the early stages. Then again he probably thought that of her. “Looking for clean drinking water…” She replied lamely, scuttling to the very back step of the porch, ready to flee.

“hmmph…” He grumbled. He had a gold cross hanging from a chain around his neck. It appeared the old man was feeling some confliction on whether he should help her or not…Marni could relate…Not really. The gold did not match is pallor at all. Hadn’t anyone ever told him he was a winter, not a summer?

“Well come on in then.” He muttered, holding the door open and flapping Marni inside. She hesitated and he snapped “Well do you want the water or not?!” “Yes Sir!” She replied, automatically responding to that commanding tone.

The old man seemed surprised by her sudden formality and chuckled even, a rusty old sound . She slipped past the old man and looked about his dim house as he locked the door behind her. Beretta still in her pocket Marni didn’t feel all that worried.

“So where are you abouts?” He wanted to know, waddling over to a cabinet and producing a small bottled water. “Virginia…” He nodded. “Do you know what’s going on out there?” Marni asked, suddenly wondering if this lunatic just thought the power was out…

“I’m not stupid girl. Course I know. Whole world has gone mad that’s what…”

She couldn’t really argue with that and instead peeled the cap off her water bottle and took a sip. Fresh water… Marni was sore tempted to poor some on her face but was sure the old man would lose his beans if she did. She settled for dabbing some on her palms and wiping her face…Which probably just spread the grime around even more. Oh well. Perhaps if she moved it around correctly it would look like bronzer on her cheeks?

A low moan fluttering from the back of the house made Marni pause in her process of making her dirt shading more appealing.

Her head whipped around nervously and Marni’s hand reached for her beretta instinctively. “What was that?” she asked uncomfortably. The old man sighed. “The old lady isn’t well—Hey!.”

Marni was jumping to her feet, almost knocking over her opened water bottle. “You have her in the house!? Don’t you know what will happen? What she’ll turn into?” The man was mad! Simply Mad!

“I didn’t let you into my house to have you criticize me little missy…I have it in hand, just settle down.”

“In hand?” How could he possibly have it in hand? Marni’s green eyes bugged out of her ‘bronzed face’.

The old man looked smug. “Yes. In hand. Martha and I have been married for 43 years and I’m not about to let some illness stop that. So I’ve got her under control until they find a cure.” Exactly who he thought would be finding this cure was beyond Marni. They were all gone. There was no They. It was just Us and We and Me.

Marni shook her head but listened intently. The moaning had stopped but there were no other sounds coming from the backroom.

How had he gotten his wife contained? Tara hadn’t been that strong of a woman and yet she broke down that office door eventually. Something about whatever it was that changed them seemed to make them stronger…Or something.

“Controlled?” Marni asked again, settling uneasily back into her chair and picking up her water bottle. Might as well hydrate while she could. “Yes.” The old man replied shortly.

They sat in silence for probably a good 20 minutes before Marni caved, her curiosity getting the best of her. “how?”

The old man grumbled but stood up (with some effort) and waved her along. It was a bizarre sight. The old woman was obviously inflicted, pulling at her own skin, moaning, yanking at her chains. And that’s what was keeping her firmly in ‘control.’ Chains and chains. Around her arms and wrists and ankles and neck and torso, anchored to eyebolts in the floor . She looked like some wild animal chained up for the amusement of humans.

An odd part of Marni felt pity for the woman and she turned away quickly. And he was doing this to his wife? Then again…his wife would eat him up were she free. And surely those eyebolts wouldn’t hold for very long?

“How long have you had her like this?” Marni wanted to know, the husband was still watching his wife. “A week.” He muttered, reaching to close the door to the bedroom so Martha was no longer visible.

A week. Surely she would escape soon. Rip this man’s guts out…

“Can I crash here?” She wanted to know, indicating the couch. The old man muttered and came back with a pillow and a blanket. Marni smiled her charming cashiers smile and settled down on the sofa.

For three days she mooched off the old man and kept an eye on his old lady. For three days he fed her and gave her shelter and watered her. And for those days Marni kept an eye on the woman, watching her progress from agitated to impatient to ruthlessly fighting against her confines, lusting for their flesh. The woman would break free. Marni knew it.

So on the fourth day she shot the woman in the head, wasting a precious bullet for the grumpy old man in the hopes that he might make it. She didn’t stay long to see what he thought of the mess she had made, merely took a few water bottles and headed out, westward once more.
Name: Marni Jenkins
Age: 24
Occupation: Was a naval medic, though she had given up the military life and gone for something a little more glamorous in the banking field.
Family Life: Marni was an only child, her parents living on a strict budget. When she joined the Navy she moved away from home. She’s not sure if her folks are dead, though it seems likely. Originally from Colorado.
Status: Single. There was this thing with a guy but he couldn't commit to the whole...being alive thing. yeah...Single. Definitely Single.
Hair: Sandy Blonde
Eyes: Hazel Green
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 165lbs
Group: Walker
Appearance: Marni, being a vain woman, took great care in her appearance before the outbreak. Now she tries her best to maintain a certain standard, it’s just harder to do without running water. Still her wavy blonde hair is braided back and pulled into a pony tail she likes to think of as ‘sporty’ (albeit a little shorter than she like…the ends a touch scorched) , her skin a little more weathered than it had been 9 months ago. Her physique has benefited from this whole process, where Marni was ‘fit’ before she would be categorized as ‘athletic’ now, with strong arms and a tight abdomen, who has to do cardio when they run this much? And can we talk about squats? Her ass is perfect and rock hard now… Mostly from climbing and dashing upstairs… But really, this is better than crossfit.

Her military duds are lasting the best in this world so she can been seen in her navy camo and black pea coat. Her last name stitched onto the front pocket reads “ENKINS” .

Blood Type: O-

Immune: Fairly safe to say she is considering her exposure rate.

Gear: Marni has her standard issue military duffle bag with all the things that ought to be in there. Three changes of NWU’s (navy camos, with white crew neck undershirts, thick tall socks and cover (hat) ) along with her standard issue pea coat and her medic kit. She has a few MRE's left since they taste…Not that great. Oh and her Beretta M9 (Big hand gun).

She has her basic tool kit, her fire starting kit, a length of rope and various pocket knives. And a compact mirror…

What?! A girl has to be able to keep herself tidy…

Bio: Being an only child in a very tight budget household Marni was typically buying her clothes at second hand stores, or saving her allowances up for special sales at the outlet malls. She always wanted to be glamorous and beautiful, and she knew there was no way that would happen with her parents strict budgeting. She loved her folks, but they were so happy just going out for hikes in the mountains near their home in Denver, or being one with nature. Sure she learned how to build a fire, make a smores toasting stick and fish and hunt and camp. But who wants to pee in the woods with the bears!?

As soon as she turned 18 Marni joined the Navy and was trained as a corpsman. The income was much better than anything else she might have hoped for with no degree and her job came with a workout plan that would keep her looking fine.

After two tours and patching up men who probably would never survive Marni did not sign another contract and instead took her talents to the glamorous world of banking. Alright. It wasn’t as glamorous as Marni had hoped, but she did get to wear makeup every day, and high heels and tight skirts.

Picking out the perfect outfit was always an art for Marni. The shoes had to match the earrings and the purse, but not so much that it was tacky or too matchy matchy. Perfecting this art sometimes made her run late to work…

Searching for the mate to her Adorable Buckle tan heel with the peach colored bow and liner was certainly making her run late today. Where was the thing!? The heel peeped out from under her duffle bag and Marni lunged for it, prying it out with a victorious cry.

Really! Under the duffle! How had that happened? Really she needed to get rid of the ugly thing, taking up valuable closet space that could be used to home something much more important, like those thigh high leather boots she had been eyeing…

Tugging the shoe on Marni gave the duffle another look before heading out the door. She was around 30 minutes late as it was.
Speeding to work she listened to her ipod on shuffle rather than the news, which had been rather boring of late anyway. Parking in the back Marni was surprised to see she wasn’t the only one hustling in through the back door. Her friend Tara was meandering towards the bank as well.

“Hey girl!” Marni called as she closed her car door with a bang! Tara turned slowly to look at her. Marni slung her purse over her shoulder and clicked up the sidewalk to the waiting Tara and the back door. “Can’t believe you’re running late too! Maybe Mark won’t get so mad if we’re both …” Marni had finally looked up from putting her car keys away to see Tara’s face. She didn’t look too good, sweating and pale.

“Woah…Are you alright?” Marni asked. Tara nodded. “I think I might have the flu to be honest, but if I miss more work I’ll get written up. Shouldn’t have gotten that boob job last Christmas, it really ate into my sick days.” Marni nodded sympathetically. “But your girls are so perky now! Totally worth it!” Patting her friend on the back they made their way inside.

Luckily Mark was nowhere to be seen so Marni and Tara were able to hustle into their own offices and no one would be any the wiser to their tardiness.

An epic bidding war on a Prada purse had Marni running late for her lunch break as well and she looked up surprised to see what time it was. Normally Tara would have come to haul her off to some soup and salad joint.

Maybe she had bit the bullet and gone home sick?

Shuffling into Tara’s office Marni knocked once before entering without waiting for permission. “Hey girl you still he—“ Marni cut herself off when she saw Tara, who was …Not herself. She was staring and panting and groaning, her makeup had been sweated off and really…She was drooling.

“Tara?” Marni asked. Had she had a stroke?

That was the last coherent thought Marni had about her friend before Tara was rushing her, grabbing her arm and yanking her further into the office. “Tara! Ouch! What is wrong with you?” Tara groaned and Marni watched in horror as her friend bared her teeth and opened her mouth, leaning towards Marni’s arm.

Instinct kicked in and Marni ripped her arm away from Tara, punching the bitch in the face with her free hand. Tara’s head snapped back and she stumbled, clumsy. Marni grabbed the door handle and slammed Tara’s office door shut, holding the knob tightly and looking around in confusion. Tara seemed to have had some sort of break down, snapped and gone cannibal. She needed someone to call the police, a doctor. Somebody.

Only… Tara was throwing herself at the office door, and the loud shrieks she was making and the thumps was drawing attention. As vague expressions and other ill looking coworkers peered out (like how Tara had looked only hours ago. Under the weather, not deranged) Marni realized they were all sick. None were quite to Tara’s level yet but…

Marni had her purse already, her keys. All she had to do was get to her car and drive home. The image of that duffle bag she had been planning on getting rid of appeared in her mind. She needed to get out. Instincts said she had to flee.

So she did, bolting for the exit and not looking back as Tara broke through her office door to get at her best friend.

Marni changed out of her tight skirt and adorable tan heels and into her combat boots , blue jeans, and a polo. Time for a road trip. Time to head back to Denver and figure out what was going on.

Marni never made it to Denver. Her car ran out of gas before she ever crossed the county line. It didn’t matter, she’d just keep trekking west with her duffle bag and her berretta.

Personality: Marni can be chatty, amusing, and likable. She is a social creature and loves compliments and shiny things. But there is a part of her that is very selfish in the need to stay alive. While she wants to look smashing, she doesn’t want her head smashed in. She can make friends fairly easily but isn’t the type to stay behind and fight honorably with her comrades. She’ll doctor up an injured ‘friend’ but the first sign of illness and she’ll flee. Self-preservation is high on Marni’s list.

APPLICATION (Character Information)

Name: Chasity Prudence Adler
Date of Birth: 12/25/1930
Place of Birth: London England
Occupation: Being the sister of such reputable businessmen as her brothers, Chasity finds that most of her time is taken up by attending social events and shopping. When she isn’t busy at the racetracks, parties, or out and about, she enjoys listening to Jazz music in the clubs or hanging around the various shops her brothers have a part in.

Chasity lives in the large town home that the Adler’s own along with her mother. While her brothers do not live in the house with them, it is a rare occasion that one of them is not in the house, eating, chatting, or arguing.

Chasity really enjoys singing and occasionally some of the night club owners will let her on stage for a number or two before her brothers haul her off.
Affiliation(s): Chasity is the youngest sister of The Adler Brothers, leaders of the Hyde Park Gang. She also knows many high ranking ‘businessmen’ in and around their crime syndicate as they tend to travel in similar social circles.
Modus Operandi: She does her best to toe the line with her brothers. While they are tight lipped and old fashioned when it comes to their sister’s well being/social life/clothing choices, she knows they are looking out for her best interests. This doesn’t mean she completely follows her brothers whims, merely finds her own way around them whenever she feels it is appropriate.

Chasity is charming and attractive, full of young energy and a general interest in life.
Background/History: Chasity was born well after her three older brothers, and while she has the Adler height and slender build, her bone structure is far fairer than the rest. It’s a well-known secret that she was born from one of Mr. Adler’s mistresses (rumored to be a famous singer) and brought into the family as a true Adler. Of course no one could ever confirm this story…

Being the youngest and the only girl she was always spoiled and protected. Her brothers were well within power by the time their father died and Chasity, being left to their elderly mother’s care, was quickly adopted as a semi daughter to them all. Adler’s look after their own and all that.

Given the best tutors possible and fed with a silver spoon, Chasity Adler became far gentler and sweetly dispositioned than anyone could hope. She had a temper and could be haughty at times but a stern look/word/slap would keep her in line for the most part.

This is not to say she was completely shielded from the dirtier aspects of the Hyde Park Gang. Chasity was no fool and learned quickly that her brothers and their friends didn’t exactly follow all the rules. But what did it matter? They pointedly kept her at an arms distance, and perhaps Chasity herself wasn’t too sure she wanted to know the details of the Adler men’s lives.
Not sure if yall do face claims but just in case I'm claiming Blake Lively for Marni
