Well, I achieved a stroke of inspiration - on the toilet.

Now I know what my character's going to be! Now, I was looking through the skills, and I realise that the only thing I -don't- understand as of yet are the equations. However, I'll assign the skills before I get to that point.
You're all wonderful helps, you know.

In terms of a Zanpkuto, and different skill sets...the 'magic' powers in Bleach (Kido etc) always interested me, but alas; I don't know enough about these to effectively manage it. I'm currently reading up on Zanpakuto types now, hoping I can get to a kido blade soon enough. I think my charater should have a natural efficiency with Kido, but I don't want her to be unbalanced and biased towards using it in battle. (Heck, I don't even know if I'm talking about the right thing here - the offensive and defence spells used in Bleach. The ones that make shields, heal wounds, but also melt faces. That kind of thing.)

The short paragraph idea sounds brilliant, and I'll try that as soon as I can figure out what kind of Zanpakuto I want...I will most likely write about performing Jinzen with my Zanpakuto. She (it's a she) will probably be a wise, but arrogant spirit, withholding information from her wielder until she deems her worthy of knowing. A good person (or, well, being) to seek out in times of indecisiveness.
Ugh, I don't even -know- anymore. At first I thought of something that -looks- young but really isn't, but then I realised it was bland and cliché. Next idea was too much like Byakuya, an arrogant, silent sort of person, so that was scrapped. Idea number three was a laid-back lieutenant, but that made me think of Shunsui, and the fourth was more of a Rangiku.

All in all, I'm back at square 1. And I don't even have a -name- for her yet!

EDIT: If there was a way to avoid describing personalities, I'd take that in an -instant-. It's not something I can predefine in a written context; I have to actually roleplay it out until I gain a good concept on my character and adhere to it.
I have hit an issue, and I'm unsure which way to continue, which is why the character sheet is taking so long. The issue itself is trying to create another Bleach Character that is -not- a blatant rip-off of any of the other bleach characters.
Huh, I never knew that about monks. Archangel's character looks like it'll be an interesting one!

It would, although it would take me a while, since I'd have to think of a good way to explain it. :)

Understandable. I don't mind waiting on the creator of the system to post an explanation, on the basis that you guys don't mind if I skip that particular section of the CS, for obvious reasons, until a good way of explaining it has been thought up.

Empath.... are you a girlllll?

No, it's a dinosaur.

Honestly!

Sure, Yoshu is the man for that, but I think I may be able to help out as well - so hit me up on skype when you have time ;)

Could it perhaps be possible that a guide to this system is posted in the OP of the OOC? It'd help me out a bunch, and it means prospective members needn't wait on this enigmatic (and highly intriguing) Yoshu character.
Empath said it is also my first advanced rp so let's us totally be advanced-newbs together :D

You have the Google chrome error dinosaur as your icon.

I don't know if I can trust you.

UPDATE ON THE CS: Added my appearance.
RIGHT HERE GOES:

Name: Hioshimi Tachibana

Age: 199

Race: Shinigami

Rank: Lieutenant of Squad 8

Spiritual Pressure Color: Steel blue

Personality:
To say that Hioshimi is the life and soul of the party would be a gross overstatement. Quiet and reserved, Hioshimi's introversion leads her to be very observant and astute. She prefers to dissect a situation before approaching it, which can be seen somewhat in her combat. Coupling with the keen intellect, Hioshimi radiates a crushing aura of solemnity and importance, despite the weak posture and scruffy appearance. She isn't the most expressive of speakers, but does tend to talk more than your natural introvert - unless, of course, she's listening and putting her intelligence to the test. Her words usually carry a certain gravity to them, as if each syllable was urgent and had to be uttered carefully and listened to intently.

Hioshimi's sobreity and intelligence can be considered as her more redeeming qualities, because in reality she can be very easily underestimated. Her movements are quick-paced, but also seemingly unbalanced - she walks drunkenly in most cases. Her stares are usually dull and lifeless, she periodically yawns, and her reactions - when she is out of combat - are sluggish. She mumbles to herself and her train of thought usually shifts and swerves onto different topics on a regular basis. In short, she gives off most of the usual signs of sleep deprivation.

During combat, it's as if you're facing an entirely different person. Hioshimi seems more alert when faced with a threat and her intelligence really comes into play with creative use of Kido. She works well with her Zanpakuto, but seems to try and stray away from close-combat if entirely possible; but, in truth, Hioshimi is well-balanced in melee and ranged combat but not excelling brilliantly in either. Her style of attacks are powerful, yet draining; she doesn't have the stamina to continue attacking for extended periods of time.

History:
The Fujioka Murders were cast aside as a cold case many, many years ago. Nobody honestly considered the depth and the significance of the killings to the friends and family of the victims, nor the importance that fate had cast upon the murderer, right down to the specific times and places he had to be in for the entire death to work out as it did.

Before we approach this subject, however, it would be important to set the scene. Fujioka (Wisteria Hill, in English) is a city in Gunma Prefecture, Japan. It had a population of 70,675 around the time of Hioshimi's birth, but her mother said that her daughter's heart held the tenacity of a thousand people. Her father worked as a construction worker, whilst her mother remained unemployed. They lived in a small house in the suburbs, where her mother liked to read to her only daughter whilst she was growing up. Fujioka was a city surrounded by high mountains, sparkling rivers and flat, still lakes where the sky's reflection could be seen perfectly.

Hioshimi grew up to be an introverted waif of a girl, uninterested in making too many friends and instead retreating into the fictional worlds of storybooks. She had a small group of girls as playmates, and even sported a few idle love interests - but her true lust lay within the immeasurable depths of knowledge. Hioshimi believed that in order to be stronger, she must be smart, for then life's difficulties became easy and simple. Her travels through her teen years were incredibly normal - middle school, high school, bullies, friends, love life, more knowledge, first exams and all of the stress they brought with them. No drinking, smoking or drug abuse, all in all a quiet girl leading a quiet and ordinary life.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, a 45 year old man by the name of Rozuko Kirashu became sick and twisted for reasons beyond his control. A schizophrenic and a pervert, this man decided that in order to sate his dark needs, a group of people had to die by his hand. He began his plans in the darkness of his apartment and scrutinized every single minor detail, leading towards December the 29th on one, fateful year.

Hioshimi was 19 when she was murdered, and it happened in the town square.

She was out and about with her small group of friends, when one of them - Imiki - stretched and yawned in her yellow parka, admitting defeat and telling her friends she was going to go to bed instead of staying up any longer. As she turned to leave, a sudden bang and a 9mm hole appeared in the side of her skull, leaving her lifeless body in the snow. Hioshimi had exactly 17 minutes to register the situation, trying to save her friend from death, despite the fact she was clearly gone. She heard another girl's screams, and managed to look up just in time to see the large, neon sign of the clubhouse they were approaching speeding towards her skull very very quickly.

The records clearly state that the bullet bounced off of a street lamp and severed the steel wires holding the sign in place, causing the second death, but it seemed like too good of an accident to be one. The police looked for the killer for several months afterwards, and six more people were killed in the same manner - a gunshot to the head of the initial target, then an 'accident' befalling the secondary target. But Rozuko was a scrupulous and detailed man; he left no footprint. The police finally deemed it a cold case around April, with no further murders occurring - mainly because Rozuko subsequently died from alcohol poisoning in his flat in March trying to drink away his guilt.

Hioshimi spent several weeks as a Plus, watching the investigation occur and trying to figure out her own death. Eventually, she was sent to the Soul Society and lived in District 12 of Rukongai with a large family to which she was not related to. She found out two things very quickly - the first, was that she couldn't sleep (or, at least, couldn't sleep well) in this new life. This was later linked to trauma from Imiki's last words, but evolved into something more during her time as a soul. The second was that she was one of the few who started starving - her family fed her regularly until she joined the Spiritual Arts Academy.

Again, Hioshimi never made a lot of friends and was considerably more of an outcast in her afterlife. She worked rigorously, perfecting her skills and especially enjoying the use of Kido over the mindless sword-drills that made up the melee training. She yearned for the chance to learn her Zanpakuto's name and use its abilities, but first had to graduate - it took 59 years to become assigned to Squad 8 and have the name of her Zanpakuto revealed to her - Fuminshiyou.

(To be Continued...)

Other: Hair is usually scruffy and messy, along with her uniform. Hioshimi suffers from Primary Insomnia - this means she's an Insomniac, but it hasn't stemmed from any underlying medical issue.

Shinigami Skills:

Zanpakuto

Name: Fuminshiyou, Jade Dragon of the Hourglass (NB: Hioshimi only knows the name Fuminshiyou. Speaking the full name after the release command can unleash Hioshimi's Bankai, if Nocturna felt she was worthy enough to use it.)

Type: Kido

Sealed Appearance: See Shinigami Appearance

Shikai Release Command: "Awaken"

Shikai Skills: Fuminshiyou's spells are dependent on the level of reiatsu Hioshimi is emitting, because the more reiatsu being emitted means Hioshimi has less control over her reiryoku, meaning she is becoming more and more tired. This means that the more exhausted she becomes, the stronger she gets - but naturally, it's a dangerous method of fighting because she can reach full power for a few minutes and then pass out.
The attacks below are displayed in order of weakest to strongest - the longer the fight progresses, the easier it will be to gain access to the next attack.
1. Jieido Souga: Simple, straight-forward attack. By slashing downwards, Fuminshiyou leaves a ribbon of green light in her wake - this separates into a metre long ribbon of light with talons on both ends. Fuminshiyou can summon two of these ribbons at a time - one to be directed by the blade, the other to be directed by Hioshimi. They can become damaged and shatter after being hit multiple times.

2. Utsutsuzeme: It has to be activated by increased reiatsu; Fuminshiyou's white steel blade turns jade green. Each cut managed by the blade induces amplified drowsiness, weakening her foe slowly and steadily.

3. Riaru Akumu: Using reiatsu and amplified by her zanpakuto, Fuminshiyou is swept in a circle - this casts an illusion around her foe to project their deepest fear in a dark, seemingly enclosed space. It lasts until Hioshimi uses another zanpakuto ability, and works primarily as a distraction and a vision-inhibiting technique. Usually, however, it doesn't last that long at all, because it's the second-strongest attack she can use.

4. Suimin Fuzui: A self-sacrifical move in and of itself, and a very risky one at that. If fired correctly, it can paralyse the target - or mutliple targets - to be finished off with even the most simple of attacks, but done incorrectly and it might hit a friendly target and paralyse them instead. It needs a lot of reiatsu to activate, and the only way Hioshimi can use it is if she's tired, which lowers her accuracy. Essentially, it is a fluid stream of green light which, when it touches another person, paralyses them. It lasts for as long as Hioshimi can remain conscious for, so it can hit multiple targets if necessary. The movement of Shimin Fuzui is unpredictable and barely controllable for a few second after Hioshimi passes out, before it flickers and fades.

Bankai Skills: Hioshimi does not know what her zanpakuto's Bankai even is, let alone what skills it holds.
