Why do people say "Tuna Fish sandwich"? That's like saying "Chicken Bird sandwich."

Bio

I never know what to put in these things. I'm just a guy who likes making stories. If I'm not roleplaying, I'm writing my own stuff or just creating random characters. I'm particularly fond of superheroes but I also really like character driven stuff and tend to dive into the details of a character. No character can be too detailed as far as I'm concerned.

Well, now I'm imagining a dance squad of clones completely in sync with each other.
As was I. That's exactly why I added that one.
Ok I had some free time so I just posted my character sheet now. I may make some changes. I also may have gone slightly overboard in the skills section and added a couple of stupid ones just for fun.
Name: Nathan James Hunter Alias(s): Legion Age: 23 Affiliations: None (formerly United States Military) Factions: None Description:
Powers:
  • Self-duplication - Legion can create exact copies of himself. These duplicates think, act and feel exactly the same as the original...mostly. Occasionally a faulty duplicate will be created with an emphasised personality trait or some odd quirk. Generally, Legion only creates 4 or 5 duplicates at a time but has been known to create up to two dozen before the duplicates start to be generated with progressively less intelligence. These less intelligent duplicates can be unpredictable and dangerous so Legion tends to only use this many as a last resort.
  • Item Duplication - Legion is able to replicate other items on his person by holding them while creating a self-duplicate. But this doesn't always work. Clothes seem easy to replicate but only around half the time (occasionally less) will a duplicate be created with access to the same items the original is carrying. i.e Weapons etc. He is working to eliminate this flaw though.
Skills: Nate has received military training in armed and unarmed combat and is fond of sending his duplicated off to learn new skills and return to him with the knowledge. Some of the many skills he has learned include;
  • Parkour
  • Vehicle mechanics
  • Piloting
  • Battlefield medicine
  • Several Languages
  • Dancing
  • Lock picking
  • Hacking
  • Baking
  • Hunting
  • Pole dancing (what?)
  • Knitting
  • General badasserry
Equipment: Out of costume, Nate tends to carry around the same junk as most people. Wallet, keys, phone etc. But he also carries a small switchblade...Just in case. In costume, Legion(s) tends to carry twin pistols, a knife, stun baton, a small tablet computer, phone and assorted other gadgets depending on the mission. He also rides a motorcycle. Entirely for the purpose of looking cool. Ranking: I'm not sure on this so correct me if you feel differently. I'm going to say high C.....? Brief History: Nathan lived a pretty normal and predictable life before his powers. High school, football star, homecoming king, average grades. But then he joined the military and normal and predictable went out the window. The exact details of his time in the military are classified and he doesn't like to talk about it. Not that he'd be allowed to talk about it, even if he wanted to. What isknown is that he was part of a spec-ops team which was later revealed to not be a team at all but rather Nate and his duplicates, now going by the name Legion. As talented an operative as he was, Legion had a tendency to be insubordinate. If he had a problem with a superior or the orders he was given, he was damn sure going to voice his opinion. This tended to get him in trouble fairly often and in the end, he pissed off the wrong person and was drummed out of the military. Better to get rid of him than have a Legion of obnoxious, insubordinate soldiers under your command it seemed. Again, the exact details of this event are unknown but ask around in the right circles and you're bound to hear tales of Legion's antics. Currently, Nate is a little lost. Not that he'd ever admit that. The military was his life and now it's gone. Maybe he should have tried to be less of a jerk. Maybe he shouldn't have [REDACTED]. But he did. It was done now and there was no taking it back. Now his future was unclear. He had to find a new course in life.
In that case, you could conceivably join anyone really, it's a pretty handy power If you want you can join my secret mercenary group, Illegal Stuff Pty. Ltd. It would be nice to have more hands for burglary and similarly illegal things
Well I see him as more or less a good guy. Albeit a slightly deluded one. He'd be willing to break into an enemy base to steal information or the like and probably call it "corporate espionage" or some such to justify it to himself like it's a military operation (He served in the military. I'll get to that when I finish his cs) and it's for the greater good...But he'd probably have a hard time justifying joining a group called "Illegal Stuff Pty Ltd" to himself. Awesome as that name is. I suppose he could always be completely unaffiliated at the start of the arc and he could be recruited by someone. Anyway, I'm going to try and get the character sheet up tonight.
"Funny?" asked Cammy, slightly offended by the question. She looked away and then down at the ground in realization. Terry was just trying to cope with all of this. She had seen it before. When confronted by a hard truth, people will search for any kind of alternate explanation to understand it. And mutants and superpowers was as hard a truth as they came. "Do you want to know how I got here?" she asked "A psycho stabbed my mom in the chest". She paused for a brief moment, never losing eye contact with the girl, as the memories began to build a tear in her eye. "I was there when she died. I felt her die. I took every bit of pain she had in her body at that moment...Because that's my power, see? I take away peoples pain...It's what I was trying to do for you...And that psycho? I beat him half to death. I gave him back every inch of pain he had given my mom until I had nothing left to give and I just blacked out." She wiped a tear from her eye and continued "When I woke up three days later...Like you, now...When my dad told me that people had come looking for me, dangerous people who wanted to kill me...That I somehow had this ability...I didn't want to believe it either. And then he brought me here, to this school filled with kids who could do incredible, bizarre things...It all seemed so ridiculous. So I get how difficult this is. Trust me, I really do. But you asked if we found this funny...Trust me. Nothing about this is funny." Brushing a stray strand of hair from her eyes, Cammy tried to regain her composure and said "Look, I don't pretend to know exactly what brought you here, but if your story is anything like mine...like so many people here...You can believe we're taking it seriously. And trust me when I say this. We're the good guys."
Also, only the original can create duplicates...I think.
I was thinking maybe a couple dozen at most but usually about four or five. Maybe "private army" is stretching it a bit. Although I was thinking about adding the limitation that the more duplicates he creates, the more unpredictable they become or perhaps even become less intelligent or something. That way he could maybe create a hole bunch of clones but basically their only use would be to swarm a more powerful enemy. I dunno. I'm still working it out.
Hey guys, I'm kind of toying with the idea of making a self-replicator character and was thinking about making him like a small private army or security force (with limits) for one of the corporations but I'm not sure if there are any existing corporations in this story I could ally him with. Anyone want to help me out?
Kai gave Victoria a dutiful nod as she left. She seemed on edge. Understandable really. Letting strangers aboard your boat was never easy. They had no idea who these passengers were. They had no idea what kind of business they were bringing into the Herald's world. Kai hoped there wasn't any trouble. But he'd be ready to crack some heads if he had to. His hand instinctively went to the knife attached to his belt. He hoped he wouldn't need to use it. Shaking the thoughts of what could go wrong out of his mind, he shifted his attention back to the console in front of him, flipping a few switches and finally hitting top speed. He loved this part. The moment the ship burst through the black. It was a thrill that would never get old.
Anywho, I'm with McHaggis on the dinner duty/timezones thing. I'm going to try and post one last quick thing and then I need to sleep so it'll be tomorrow before I'm able to get involved again. Also, McHaggis, I just noticed the Scotishness of your name. Can I assume you're from Scotland?
