I think a combination of the first two would be interesting. Something that happens after a failed rebellion, with the Holy Empire scrambling to keep control. Then, we, European-affiliated agents swoop in and start to further tip the balance? If I had to pick one of the proposed scenarios I'd go with the first one though, for sure.
I have seen a ton of OP rps that all kind of failed, though this feels more controlled and mature, which I like. I love the world of One Piece (though the show/manga itself isn't really to my taste) so I'd like to give this a shot. Though I struggle to understand what sort of timeline this is. Is it an AU? Do the canon characters exist? Perhaps my reading comprehension failed me, and I apologize if that's the case, but it'd be great if that could be cleared up.
I posted a more detailed and fluffed up interest check in the Advanced section. You'll also find a skeleton for the character sheets there, if you wish to get started already. :)
Overwatch's rebirth created headlines around the world. Welcomed with both support and disapproval, the agents called upon by Winston's signal are faced with a difficult choice: Follow the call, and attempt to save the world once again, or respect the judgement of global authorities calling for Overwatch's closure. Those who came knew what they'd be confronted with: Not only is another Omnic crisis threatening to take place, but a life of vigilantism would be hectic, difficult, and emotionally taxing. Far from the untouchable juggernaut of an organization it once was, Overwatch must return to humble beginnings. Such circumstances demand recruitment of new agents. Those with an unwavering sense of justice and kindness. Or, at the very least, those willing to enforce such ideals with the right incentive.

Meanwhile, Talon lingers in the shadows, not only working towards deepening the rift between humanity and Omnics, but attempting to stay ahead of the former Overwatch agents in every area imaginable. Rebuilding the organization with a threat such as Talon and no official funding seems a gargantuan task.

Still, things are not hopeless. Many people out there believe a simple sentence, once uttered by Lena Oxton, to be true.

The world could always use more heroes.

Alright, so I absolutely love Overwatch and I've been playing it avidly since release. I just love the animated shorts and the provided lore, and I think it has a lot of potential for fun interactions. I've been thinking a roleplay would be lovely. My idea was to allow both canon characters as well as OCs. This way, we could really feel the connection to the Overwatch world beyond mere terminology but still feel as if we are part of it with our own twists. :)

Outlines for those interested:
- Missions will have a clear-cut beginning and end. Transition into and out of missions will NOT have to be played out, so we can avoid having slow periods that feel boring. They may be played out if it is of interest to the players, though.
- Downtime can be played out. Agents could interact at an OW base or we simply include a bit of slice of life to get some color into the events. Afterall, variety is the best flavor.
- The overarching plot is Overwatch trying to not only rebuild itself, but stay out of reach from both Talon and official authorities. Missions will of course involve a wide variety of topics, such as mediate between humans and omnics, rescuing people and so on.
- OCs will be created in the same vain as in-game characters, just so we have a good grasp of what the character's like. I'd say we don't need elaborately detailed personalities and such, but rather a short blurb about their background, motivation, talents and such. A skeleton will be provided below for those interested, so you can work on OCs in advance.
- That being said, canons are allowed to be played!
- I do not want to GM a large-scale game for the time being due to personal reasons. I'll provide missions, still, but this won't be a roleplay as is traditional. Instead, it'll be a collaboration between all involved players, down to the organization. I'd like everyone to pitch in. To create missions and take charge now and then. To voice opinions on applications and such. Overwatch is filled to the brim with a wide variety of influences and styles, and I believe a big collaberation (rather than an RP run by someone for others) would reflect that spirit.
- Doubling characters would be fine, at the very least if one decides to play a canon and an OC.
- Since OW is more of a fun, quick-paced experience I think two paragraphs are sufficent, though I definitely want people to put effort and thought and love into their posts and characters. That being said I want meaty posts, filled with content that other people can bounce off. I want action and enthusiasm, and a lot of involvement, hence the advanced forum.

Feel free to ask questions or just confess interest!

So you are saying I could finally have the Torbjorn's Finnish rival appear (as an OC, true, but still)? Colour me cautiously interested, depends on how this thing is going to shape up.

Hell to the yes, you could!

And wonderful, happy to hear that.
Cheers luvs, an interest check is 'ere!

Some thoughts I've head on how I think it'd be run best:
- Missions that have a clear-cut beginning and end. Transition into and out of missions doesn't have to be played out, so we can avoid having slow periods that feel boring.
- Downtime can be played out. Agents could interact at an OW base or we simply include a bit of slice of life to get some color into the events.
- We could have an overarching plot, such as a new Omnic crisis or such, but I think individually created missions independent of one another are more fun. However, I'm open to opinions.
- OCs would be created in the same vain as in-game characters, just so we have a good grasp of what the character's like. I'd say we don't need elaborately detailed personalities and such, but rather a short blurb about their background, motivation, talents and such.
- I have decided that I do not want to GM a large-scale game for the time being due to personal reasons. Therefore I'd prefer a smaller cast. However, I'm fine with a larger one as well. What is important, however, is that I'd like everyone to pitch in. To create missions and take charge now and then. Overwatch is filled to the brim with a wide variety of influences and styles, and I believe a big collaberation (rather than an RP run by someone for others) would reflect that spirit.
- I think doubling characters would be fine, at the very least if one decides to play a canon and an OC.
- Since OW is more of a fun, quick-paced experience I think a solid two paragraphs are sufficent, though I definitely want people to put effort and thought and love into their posts and characters.

Would some peeps like something like that and participate?
I sure will! Thanks. :)

I am part-french, yeah. :) It's super dooper rusty though. :(
Hey, I've been in the mood for something GoT-ish lately, so this sounds quite lovely. I'm sorry if this has been asked and/or answered already, but how will this work in terms of interaction? With different houses and such? Just curious, since the show has such a wide cast scattered across Westeros.
Hey there! I'm Sunbather, but you can call me Sunny if you like. I'm a mid-20s wannabe-writer who occassionally makes mistake because English isn't my first language. But you know... tryin' to make sense. Most of the time. :P I started roleplaying about a year ago but I've been a bit burned out in the past few months. Lately, however, I really wanna write again, and I've been searching for a new place with a bit of a different mentality, and this place looks quite lovely. :)

I like all kinds of RPs as long as they're not pure romance stuff. I absolutely LOVE space exploration/adventure, desolate adventure/fantasy (Think Dark Souls/Berserk for comparison) and weeby roleplays. Yeah, I know, animu... Don't boo me. Sometimes, I really crave that tiny-character wielding 20 feet edgelord weapon-sorta stuff. More than anything, however, I would LOVE to roleplay something Overwatch related (with canon as well as OCs being there.) so I suppose I'll look around and see if there's anything OW.

But yeah, ask whatever you might wanna know about moi. Thank you for reading and have a good day. :)
