All around the Hive and the Valorous Intent, space was tearing itself apart in ways no-one aboard the ship could ever have imagined. Every new tear seemed to bring forth another of the odd collection of ships that had only minutes before been embroiled in battle against the Imperial forces. The only consolation was that the Imperials didn’t seem to be managing to follow them as of yet. The situation had rapidly spiralled beyond anything Rhea’s High Guard training could ever have accounted for, and she suspected that even the vaunted Argosy special ops would be taken off guard by this one. Still, training or no, adaptability was the key to survival, and allowing surprise or shock to get the better of you was a path to an early grave. So thats what Rhea would do - Adapt.

“Valerie. Scan every ship that appears within a one light minute radius and report their condition to me as best you can. I want to know as much as possible about them before we start making friends.” That was, after all, what they would have to do. One ship alone in a hostile galaxy would not survive for long, but together, this flotilla of mismatched ships might actually stand a chance of survival… And maybe even discovering how to return from whence they came. “Tell medical and engineering to prepare as many nanobots in as many configurations as they can. They may be our best shot at making a good first impression.” The acknowledgments all flowed in as the crew went about their business following the orders.

Minutes passed as her ship made full use of its powerful sensor arrays to observe and analyse the other ships before a report was made. Valerie’s avatar gave it in her usual fairly cold and analytical manner. “All the ships appear to have sustained damage in the battle. Several of them have multiple hull breaches, nearly all of them have some degree of system damage, though I couldn’t tell you precisely what all their systems are meant to do. Life signs vary wildly, though it seems that the majority are human. Or at least something similar. No signs of active nanotechnology, though at least one of the ships is conducting repairs manually.”

“As to be expected.”

Valerie’s tone took on a little more life then, with the sarcastic ‘isn’t it obvious’ tone Rhea had come to expect from her ship. “As you’ve probably guessed from the lightshow, none of them seem to make any use of Slipstream… and I have no idea what they use instead.” Irritation was evident in the AI’s voice, she was a scout ship and she hated not knowing something. Rhea could practically hear the unspoken ‘I’m analysing it but can't make heads or tails of it.’ The only good thing about that was that the AI would put a monumental effort into the data analysis because of her hurt feelings.

Rhea had acquired the knowledge she needed though. She had something no-one else did, nanotechnology capable of repairing organic and machine structure alike, and with it she could forge an alliance. “Valerie, I want you to broadcast a message to all the ships within one light minute, audio and video. Close in on me until we know how they’ll react to the aliens onboard.” A nod from the AI’s avatar was all she needed to know the channel was live.

“This is the Systems Commonwealth ship Valorous Intent to all vessels. Our sensors show that a number of you have taken damage - we are able to assist with repairs and provide medical aid.” Not much of a first contact message, but she had to start somewhere. Hopefully it would be all they needed. After all, the Commonwealth had proved time and again that providing humanitarian aid was a good way to make friends.

Rtron:

Minor thing really but still bugs me. Humans have only been in the galactic community for less than thirty years, and since the Legion is far older than that, the name of its founder cannot've been suggested by a human before Tevura arrived, as humans were still busy colonising and fighting over America.... (roughly).
It is somewhat amusing that you make this (common) mistake despite one of your characters later fully accounting for the fact...

Also, Asari not only live longer than humans but take a little longer to mature I believe, though the wiki is annoyingly lacking in specifics and its been a while since I've chatted to Liara... Anyway, the point, Morinth was discovered to be Ardat Yakshi at the age of 40. I think 16 is slightly more like a child for an Asari, and adding a few years onto her age before her experimenting might be a good idea...
Aside from this, this is a remarkably well crafted Ardat Yakshi character. You do yourself credit Rtron.

My only issue with Tasi is why exactly there would be a mutiny on a Quarian ship. Sure, they have disagreements, but those disagreements are almost never solved with violence, as Quarians tend towards solving things through debate instead of killing, more so now that their population is so limited.
Other possibilities to replicate that situation could include the ship being attacked from outside, though I leave it to you as to the specifics.

Kalros is interesting. My issue with her is again in the early part of her life, in that Tuchanka doesn't actually have a spaceport per-se. The place Shepard lands is merely the silo entrance to Urdnots settlement, not an official spaceport, as Tuchanka isn't exactly a hot destination for trade or tourism. Plenty of Krogan do leave their homeworld though so I assume there are a few spots that could be considered analagous to a spaceport, likely the more well established clan settlements. So i guess not so much of an issue as clarification, she'd've had to go to another clan most likely, and been very lucky.

Dave seems mostly alright. I like how he was utterly annihilated by the Turian fleet. They tend to do that.
I don't think he'd be the most famous... Terminus is large and has a lot of pirates after all, though some fame is alright.
I intend to get a post up for Jaerdi soooon....

On the tail end of setting up my own RP, which takes lots of time initially, as any GMs here will know, which is why I've not been rushing to post...
Well there is the A-61 Mantis gunship, a fairly generic one available galaxy wide and the one shown in all the Mass Effect Games. There are no other known classes, so really all I would ask is to specify which races design principles they follow. Hell, they could even be Volus gunships - it is a little known fact that the Volus airforce is a rather scary and effective force, and I imagine they'd have some unique designs. But I digress. I just wanted to let you know that your gunships would not be the ones you see all the time in the games. The other option is to use Fighters, as they are FTL capable, if you'd prefer not to have 'generic gunship design.'
This really is me nitpicking though so don't worry yourself over it.

Everyone seems to be making that mistake these days, its all good.

That is a wonderful Turian name.

And yeah I was just making sure on that count. My goal is for fairly minimal canon character inclusion, and what you intend seems fine to me with that clarification. No changes needed on it.

Your sheet is quite good, you know when the only issues I find are so simple that you've done it all right :D
I'm in the future folks, for me, thursday happens in 3.5 hours....

Still, i'll be doing deciding late my thursday to give folks a chance to do more editting submitting and such.
Yeah, I guess, if it helps you to get into the game.

Remember that Halios contacted you to ask for more slaves at the end of his post, that could provide you with some post fodder.

He was adopted?

Too old. Humans haven't been around long remember.
MrFoxNews:

Helix looks pretty good, though there are a few things to consider. The gunship model commonly seen in the games (not sure if this is what you intend to use as its not the only gunship that exists) is renowned for being capable of pretty much everything except FTL. So some clarification on the gunship model might be nice.

Not sure about the Aria thing, a lot of people have met her in passing over the years, though not that many actually know her. I'm happy to leave it as long as you know that you cannot NPC Aria, if you wish her to show you must ask me to play her, though I will most likely keep her totally out of this game even if Finch does want to chat with her...

Possibly the most major issue, a fairly commonly made mistake, is that humans have been in the galaxy for less time than your characters age, which means he cant've been born on Bekenstein. At 46, he'd have to be earth-born I believe. Dervish is better with the human timeline than I am, he can give you specifics. (I'm more of an Asari/Salarian/Quarian person, though I have working knowledge of all the races.)

The only other thing is that your Turian has a very human name.
We'll see.

Reviews tonight. Hopefully i'll get them all done before people tempt me away with Space Engineers.
I will try to have these new sheets reviewed tonight, but no guarantees. If you're in america it'll be tomorrow for you as I am in NZ.
