Cheers for the interest fellas!

I'll leave it for a day or two to see what other interest we pick up while I work on the OOC, which will go into more detail on the various factions, such as the Hutt Cartels and the Exchange.
@Bishop

The Hutts set up shop on Nar Shaddaa long ago and have been around since before the Exchange. Now that the Exchange is arguably the most powerful criminal syndicate on Nar Shaddaa, spurned on through the influx of veteran soldiers from the Republic-Revan war now without work and looking for a means to provide for themselves/family, I imagine there is definitely some skirmishes across the urban moon between Hutt gangs and Exchange thugs. So yeah - probably open hostilities, with Hutt Gang and Exchange zones across Nar Shaddaa. The Refugee sector being firmly in Exchange territory, a perfect place for them to obtain new recruits as well, for example.

The Exchange exists in the legends canon for Star Wars, yeah. They were present during the Jedi Exile's visit to Nar Shaddaa in the KOTOR 2 game, but in this RP we're going to pretty much leave Meetra Surik out of it. AU and all that. Here's the wookiepedia link to the Exchange. It does eventually die out yeah, but during our timeline, it's currently at the height of its power.

I'm not putting a 'credit limiter' on per se, maybe your character has an expensive blaster or something. But right now the Exchange is basically controlling who goes in-and-out of Nar Shaddaa because they have thugs at the primary ports, one of the reasons these refugees and our characters are trapped on the moon. There's probably a 'safe passage toll' at the ports that they're forcing merchants etc... to pay. Our characters cannot afford to pay that, and for whatever reason do not currently have access to their own ship. Maybe the Exchange 'requisitioned' it. Either way, our characters do not currently have access to their own ship. There will undoubtedly be some ports across the moon that are currently unmolested by the Exchange, but our characters would need to escape the Exchange territory they are currently trapped in to reach said ports, which is easier said than done. (In SW lore, the Jedi Exile does go on to destabilise their operations on Nar Shaddaa, but again, not something we'll really be covering in this RP.)

For the droid companions, sure!

Our characters will be banding together as a 'crew', yeah, but their first mission won't actually take them from Nar Shaddaa itself. When they do escape, they'll be on one ship, yeah. Maybe they'll get another throughout the course of the roleplay, I'm open to things like that.

There will be an Exchange character accompanying our motley crew, yep. Depending on how things go in the 'first act', or the storyline concerning the padawan, they'll either continue on with the crew or... won't.

The year is 3953BBY (before battle of yavin)
It is a dark time for the old republic. The Jedi Order has fallen, and the few remaining Jedi scattered across the galaxy have fled into self imposed exile, ever hunted by the relentless Sith Triumvirate. The sudden disappearance of the Jedi from the galactic stage has allowed the criminal syndicates to prosper, no longer restrained by the fear of the Jedi Order, and the Exchange has quickly grown to become the largest criminal operation. With footholds on Taris, Nar Shaddaa and Tatooine to name but a few, the Exchange is responsible for all conceivable forms of profitable crime. Slave trading, weapons trafficking, bounty hunting, smuggling, extortion and more.

The Sith Triumvirate, an uneasy alliance between the last three known sith lords, has resorted to a brutally effective shadow campaign against the republic. No longer being capable of waging open warfare against the galactic republic, the sith lords Traya, Nihilus and Sion instead conduct themselves in the shadows, orchestrating conflicts to cripple the republic from within. All the while, vicious Sith Assassins spread throughout the stars in the search for the last remaining Jedi, seeking to destroy the order once and for all.

You are not a Jedi or a Sith, however. Caught in the middle of their schemes and wars, you find yourself simply trying to survive. Trapped on Nar Shaddaa, which has come under the brutal control of the Exchange, you make your way in life however you can. You are not a hero, but you are a survivor.

Accepting a job from the Exchange, voluntarily or not, you will soon find yourself catapulted down a series of events that you could never have foreseen, events that may change the face of the galaxy forever.

Hi there!

As you can perhaps tell from the little taster above, I'm looking to create a harsh star wars roleplay about survival. It will explore the often unseen criminal underbelly across multiple planets, and while our story begins on Nar Shaddaa, it will not end there. Expect to visit well-known planets and locations from the movies, and some lesser known systems too as our characters make their way through an unforgiving galaxy. We'll explore the consequences of the war between the Jedi and the Sith. Maybe your character supports one order, or perhaps views them both as being as bad as each other. Either way, their constant wars have left the galaxy reeling and allowed for violence and lawlessness to prosper. Character development, and the relationships our characters have with one another, will be central to this roleplay. Actions do have consequences however, and characters can die, so please keep that in mind!

Your Character
The character you shall create will be caught on Nar Shaddaa, which is currently under the strict rule of the Exchange, and you find yourself unable to leave. With a refugee crisis from a war only a few years ago that split the galaxy (the war between Revan's Sith Empire and the Republic), millions remain displaced and the Exchange has taken advantage of the situation to ruthlessly extort refugees, controlling the traffic in and out of the Nar Shaddaa. Whether your character is a smuggler, bounty hunter, gun for hire, or anything of the sort, is entirely up to you. How they managed to find themselves at Nar Shaddaa also is up to you. Our story begins with these characters accepting employment from the Exchange, with it being one of the few ways you can leave Nar Shaddaa without paying an extortionate fee. This job will involve hunting down an inexperienced Padawan, with all Jedi carrying massive bounties set by the mysterious Sith Triumvirate, on behalf of the Exchange.

Choice will be a major feature of this roleplay, and there will be a large deal of freedom and flexibility in the story. Perhaps the Hutt Cartels get wind of the bounty, and offer you a larger payment, should you catch the Padawan. Such a decision would surely anger the Exchange, but denial would undoubtedly pit you against agents of the rival Hutt Cartels. Or perhaps your characters take pity on the young, lost Padawan.

Whatever their choices, this will mark only the beginning of the story, and our characters will be forced together for their own survival. Across the galaxy, you can expect encounters with the Hutt Cartels, Exchange, the Galactic Republic, Sith Assassins, corrupt politicians, innocent victims and perhaps even a Jedi. Though I do emphasise, this story is not about the heroic deeds of the exemplary Jedi, but it is instead about a group of morally ambiguous characters trying their best to do right by themselves, and survive.

tl;dr
A harsh and group-focused star wars roleplay with a great deal of freedom in group decision making that explores the darker side of the star wars universe. Focus on character development and relationships between the group. Fun. Casual advanced standard.

Cheers for reading! Feel free to drop any questions, and hopefully your interest too!
Placing down some interest! I think I'll write for Ser Criston Cole.

Tentatively, I'll say that I may also write for Prince Lucerys Velaryon, but yeah. Still not sure on him.
