Personality: Shizune is probably...older than she looks. She's been around longer than most, and has seen her fair share of despair and triumph. However, over time she has grown into a peaceful and generally caring individual, one who has only recently considered returning to her old lifestyle. She is known for keeping a calm, controlled smile at all times, even when faced with insurmountable opponents or heart-rending despair. Such is her strength of spirit, and her confidence in her own abilities. While once she would have deplored the idea, she has grown into quite a skillful talker and deceiver, skills that helped her obtain and keep a position of great power within her village even after she had passed the prime of her life. Using this, she kept on protecting the village long after she cast off her blade, until eventually the world fell apart around her.

The woman who was once known as a peerless warrior has grown a pacifistic nature over the years, as a result of the losses she has experienced along the way. She should be content with sitting in her home, watching out the door while the world passes by. Yet, somewhere inside, the warrior's spirit fights to break free and burn once again. When the time came for her to die, she did not find herself simply accepting her end like she thought. Instead, she fled the village she had protected her entire life, fled for allies she didn't even know existed. When she heard that a rebellion was beginning, she agreed to provide her wisdom, but felt compelled to offer them more. The younger shinobi have never known her name, and she hopes they never again have to, but there will come a time when she has no choice. She fears that she will never be able to return if she crosses this line, and rightfully so, as this choice will certainly be the one that leads to her long story's final conclusion.

Description: An extraordinarily powerful mix of Ninjutsu and Kenjutsu, which revolves around reversing the power of an opposing ninjutsu in the form of a massive, destructive maelstrom. To execute correctly, one must first create a whirlwind around their sword, pouring a great amount of chakra into this whirlwind alongside the blade itself in preparation for the force it will be unleashing. Then, when an enemy uses a particularly destructive ninjutsu of specific varieties, the user leaps directly into the attack, striking into the center of the technique, and causing the whirlwind around their weapon to surround it. If timed correctly, the whirlwind can theoretically redirect the destructive force in whichever direction they choose, amplifying its power greatly while also enhancing it with the power of wind.

Weakness: Extremely draining. Situational. Difficult to execute properly. Doesn't work on all techniques. Risky.

Description: A deadly sword technique known only to a very select few, all of whom are considered masters of Kenjutsu. Yet, despite its extreme difficulty and the huge amount of training required to master it, the Swallow Reversal is an absurdly simple technique. Consisting of three, accurately targeted slashes preformed in quick succession, the Swallow Reversal has been said to be "Virtually unavoidable", as any attempt to dodge one of the three slashes will almost always result in being struck by the others. The true secret of this technique is in the speed, which transcends the speed of ordinary techniques, allowing all three slashes to be preformed at nearly the exact same moment.

Weakness: Can be blocked, interrupted or otherwise intercepted. Extremely tiring to use. Requires even terrain, sure footing and a specific stance, along with an ideal distance from the user's opponent and a general lack of obstructions preventing all three slashes to be executed.

Personality:
Despite one's first impression of her, Kazuko isn't exactly the peaceful type. She's just...apathetic, at least mostly. She's never really been interested in much, and she's not all that good at showing her emotions or expressing herself, leading to an overall awkward time around other people. Because of this, she prefers to do her own thing most of the time, unless she feels there's some logical reason she should get involved. That isn't to say she doesn't have emotions, she just doesn't really express them outwardly save through monotonous, almost sarcastic outbursts. Possesses a bit of a sadistic streak, which pairs up well with her occasional desire for monetary gain and relatively low risk of mercenary work. Whatever gets her moving has to be good, right?

Absolute Apathy Field, as she calls it, is a trait possessed by Kazuko's chakra that causes it to act like an extremely resilient barrier, layered less than an inch across her entire body. While not flawless, this results in her possessing dramatically increased physical and spiritual resistance compared to ordinary people, especially so for the physical side of things. This by no means makes her indestructible, however she is able to easily shrug off any low-level attacks and even brave higher, A-Ranked attacks with significantly diminished risks. Certain techniques, particularly Spatial Ninjutsu, Sensory Ninjutsu and Barrier Ninjutsu, all have especially diminished effects on her, as her personal barrier's interference disrupts their careful precision. Additionally, her barrier provides her with virtually no defence against Genjutsu, making her an extremely susceptible target for mental attacks. If it is somehow broken or disabled, rather than simply pierced, her natural barrier will regenerate to full power in roughly ten seconds.

Effect: A simple defensive barrier that is easily deployed, even with no resources or on the field. First, the user must section off the desired area with some sort of physical marker, such as drawing a circle or line in the dirt. Then, by binding a Barrier to this boundary, Kazuko can create a surprisingly effective defensive field that remains for minutes after she has stopped supplying chakra.
Weakness: It is actually possible to simply break the boundary, such as through kicking the dirt circle. Additionally, while it can be quickly deployed, it isn't so quickly that she can do it easily while on the move.

Effect: A mildly powerful barrier technique made extremely effective by its uniquely versatile range and quick deployment relative to other Barrier Ninjutsu. After preforming the prerequisite handseals, Kazuko creates a miniature barrier inside of her eyes and projects it to wherever her eyes happen to be focusing at that precise moment. Using this, she may rapidly protect herself or others against multiple projectiles across considerable distances, so long as she has the awareness to react.
Weakness: While technically quite potent, Kazuko's poor situational awareness and attention span make it purely situational. Additionally, the constant hand seal requirement means that she can hardly preform other techniques while using this one.

Weakness: Only works on Barriers that Kazuko is actually connected with. Naturally, the chakra cost is relative to the strength of the affected barrier. Also, this kills the barrier.

Effect: A simple, practical technique based on a seal present on both of Kazuko's index fingers. The seal is set to project a miniature barrier of varying strength and size, for many purposes.

Effect: Within a specified area, the user forms a weak, localized rainstorm which serves to mark any living being within to everybody nearby, as well as disrupting Spatial Ninjutsu and other methods of rapid transportation (i.e Summoning, Body Replacement, Body Flicker.) Those marked, friend or foe, will be easily sensed even to the most inept or untalented sensors.
Weakness: Draining for no good reason. Double edged sword. Requires constant care.

Jarless Myriane Ashgold The Jarless of Ashfall sat quiet in her seat, watching the proceedings of the Jarlmoot with what seemed to be an air of musing cheer. This was her first Moot, and also her first time meeting most of the other Jarls sitting around her. She returned whatever greetings she received with smiles and gracious words, but otherwise kept to herself, learning more about the Jarlmoot with each passing pleasantry. She had a good idea of each Jarl's character and mannerisms, if only through brief observations and the words of others. The Monk, Otrygg, made some interesting speech about the state of the kingdom and the need for a new king, and at the mention of kingship, the Jarl of Tyr stood and put forth his name for the Crown. There was some talk of agreement with his claim, until the Jarl of Coldmarch brought up an important point.

War.

Henrik's reply was one that even Myriane expected, and she was about to begin speaking when another of the Jarls raised their voice above the rest. The old, withered Jarless of Hjalder's Vale took a stand. She spoke with a clarity unexpected from one as old as she, and by the time she had finished, none could miss the wisdom contained in her words. This time, however, the young Jarless wouldn't let her chance to speak fly from her hands. Without missing a beat, she directly follows up Eyildr's comments by clearing her throat and moving to stand. Slowly and deliberately, she rises gracefully to her feet, her voluptuous golden curls (and other endowments) bouncing subtly as she comes to a respectful standing posture. When she opens her mouth, the voice that rings out through the hall was carefully filled with a song-like mixture of charm, mirth, and maybe an unnoticeable lining of Magic.

"Wise words, oh Jarless of Hjalder's Vale... as expected of one with your greatness of years. Now, if I may, I will take my turn to speak." On this note, she allows for a moment of silence where somebody may object to her presence there. It was a clever timing, as the age of the woman who had spoken before her served to further amplify her appearance of youth and beauty in their eyes. She continues, blue eyes tracing the faces of each Jarl sitting in attendance...

"It is a great honour for me to speak be able to speak here today, at this most important of meetings, to discuss the crowning of the very first King in my time as Jarl. I have listened to Jarl Henrik's claim to the crown, and have heard many tales speaking of his strength, and of his loyalty to the late King."

"As Jarless Eyildr has spoken before me, our King need not merely be strong, nor honourable or loyal. The King of Norsia must show sound judgment, they must be able to fight for the safety of the realm without succumbing to his fancies, or to his bloodlust. So, has Henrik shown us he is able to make decisions, knowing that the fate of the entire realm may rest on his shoulders? I believe that he has, spoken right before us today!"

"Gothra, who we gracefully allowed to share our peace, seethes in spite for the very vows which saved them and their people! Even now, the flames of revenge burn hot in their hearts as they glare lustfully at lands that are rightfully ours! War is a horrible, dangerous thing that bends the hearts of sane men, and what better evidence of this than this treachery? Gothra hides behind a deception of peace, while they truthfully gather their forces in preparation to break their vows. Caution should always be shown in times of war, Jarless Eyildr speaks the truth, so we must be prepared to protect the safety of the Kingdom when our enemies join banners against it. Henrik has already spoken his true judgement, he has said that we must protect what is ours, and stand up against the Gothran threat. This is why I feel that Jarl Hendrik of Havarr has shown all he needs to be a strong, just King. Now..."

Ending her speech, Myriance redirects her attention directly to the prospective King. She meets Henrik's eyes when she speaks to him, letting her nearly flirtatious feelings of respect pass unseen by the Jarls gathered around them-

"Jarl Henrik Havarr of Tyr, I believe that your words are as true as your merits. I support your claim to the Crown, and with me, you have all of the support Ashfall has to offer. I have but one request, and that is that I may receive a place in your council in exchange for my fealty to your Lordship. While I am new among your ranks, and lacking in the respect or experience of the others in this Moot, you will find that I am quite capable at what I do, and that I will not betray your expectations if given the opportunity. That is all I have to say, so at that, I will take my seat-" and so she did, leaving the Jarls to discuss her ambitious request. She did not expect her proposition to be accepted, but she needed whatever potential chances she could make for herself, if she was to earn the respect of her fellow Jarls.
