Personality
As one who claims to be a member of the mythical race of Fairies, it's no real surprise to hear that Tael is most definitely among the strangest individuals currently employed on the Tychon. Despite her strictly monotone and indifferent mannerisms, her behaviour has a strangely "Cat-like" quality to it, embodied by her irritating habit of falling asleep in strange places.

When questioned about this, she claims that she does it in order to "increase my appeal", but anybody even the least bit familiar with her can tell that it is mostly unintentional.

She's prone to mocking others, but almost completely avoids any criticism directed towards herself, showing a nearly comical amount of arrogance for one of such small stature and childlike demeanour. When it comes to her magical talents, she likes to act as if the only reason she provides any assistance at all is because "She feels like it", and not out of any sort of necessity.

At her core, she is in many ways a cruel, but also unfathomably empathetic person. While she prefers to hide behind a blank expression and tone, she feels deeply for any who are experiencing hurt or anguish, and will often do whatever she can to assist them (in her own, indirect manner.)

When it comes to a crisis, she is an extremely level-headed and surprisingly reliable person, which one might not assume from her given how she acts during times of relative peace. She prefers to be alone, but will band up with or stick around others if she either is interested in them, or if there is a general need for her to assist in some way.

Bio
Hailing from the Astarte Clan, most of Tael's earlier life is not exactly well-known, and her involvement in this campaign would be difficult to explain to those who do not understand her unique heritage.

However she may look, she is most definitely a certified and powerful Magic-user, one whose abilities and connections were enough to land her a ranking position on the Tychon. She has an interest in what lies beyond her simple home city in Atrea, and has likely joined with the crew of the Tychon in order to achieve some, unknown goal. It's worth noting that she is an independent Mage, not affiliated with the Order or the Guild alike.

It's a bit of mystery how a Mage with seemingly little background in the magical community managed to land such a position, or how they managed to become as powerful as she, but this is likely due to some unknown connections between the Astarte Clan and certain magical organizations.

Equipment
  • A simple, evidently hand-crafted bag of sorts, containing personal items and certain favoured items (A blanket, a periscope, a flask of alcohol, a pack of cigarettes, a lighter, assorted basic snacks and a change of clothes.)
  • Several books, of no particular worth save a single romantic novel that might assist in miscellaneous romantic affairs.
  • An ornate, extremely sharp dagger, possessing a four inch blade and accompanying sheathe. Hidden at all times.

  • Highly skilled Mage, capable of using a variety of magics and counter-magics with or without the assistance of tomes. Due to her wide knowledge base, multiple varieties of magic are available to her, making her quite versatile.
  • Has an understanding of romance unlike those of common men, and is able to provide effective romantic advice to all but the most hopeless cases.
  • Basic understanding of a lot of things, including the application of basic medical techniques, navigation, mathematics, culture, psychology, hand-to-hand combat, military strategy, logistics, diplomacy, astrology, herblore, alchemy, architecture, fishing and puzzle-solving. Basically, she reads a lot, and knows about a lot of random shit.

Personality
Lazy, unmotivated and terribly malicious, Charlotte is the very definition of a person that is hard to get along with. She doesn't much care for the needs or wants of others, and prefers to service her own desires rather than go along with whatever those around her have planned. To those around her, it might seem like she's almost incapable of motivating herself to do anything. One might wonder how she has ever gotten anything done, or how she even managed to complete her schooling.

In truth, when she becomes completely devoted to achieving something, she is almost guaranteed to succeed just through sheer force of will and effort. At these times, she will stop at nothing to achieve her goals, thinking that
"There's no point in doing things half-way."

Outside of these rare incidents, she is quite a care-free person, simply following whatever whims or wants she happens to be feeling at any given moment. Surprisingly (given her otherwise calm demeanour), she's very easily provoked, and tends to hold grudges for extended periods of time once slighted.

Similar to her approach when motivated towards a goal, she refuses to go half-way with her relationships. Whether it's disliking somebody to the point of hatred, or even becoming as close as lovers with somebody she's just befriended.

Such is her nature.

Familiar
Shaman, her specially bred magic raven. Was her Mother's companion first, before being passed on to Charlotte. He is from a particular breed of intelligent, magical Ravens native to Australia. Having been paired with a Wizard for his entire life, he is fully capable of speaking fluently and is often able to offer helpful insight into any given situation, due to his unique perspective.

Special Stuff
Being from Australia, where there has never really been a major Dark Arts crisis, Charlotte's early access to Dark Arts knowledge gives her an inherent edge over many British Dark Wizards. Her father (and indeed her entire family), is very well established in Australian Dark Arts culture.

She was taught the Dark Arts alongside her traditional magical education, and in comparison to the pathetic collection of remaining Dark Wizards in the western world, she could be said to be in a completely different league.

She's no Voldemort, obviously, just her high Dark Arts affinity and actual education in the field puts her on an imbalanced playing field relative to British practitioners. Importantly, she is capable of preforming what is considered an Illegal curse in the duelling world, the Strangulation Curse, as well as the completely Illegal Unforgivable Curses.

Among them, she possesses the most affinity for Cruciatus, although she is more than capable of preforming the other two if necessary.

Her creative abilities are higher than most, and her devotion to the creation of imaginary worlds has left her proficient in the arts of daydreaming and improvisation. She is, however, a troublesomely free-spirited girl, who insistently puts herself at the forefront of any group or situation. Her inherent strangeness possesses a certain quirky draw to it, which she uses to gather others around her and take charge. She rarely looks before bursting headfirst into danger, often relying on those around her to keep her out of trouble.

Rather than seeking the One True Outcome, she is the sort of person who will look for innumerable possible solutions to the same, simple problem. She likes to do her own thing, move at her own pace, and reject whatever predetermined "Truth" is present in any equation.
