Greetings fellow dreamers roleplayers! Allow me to introduce myself, I am That Guy and I am here today with an original story that is chock full of lovecraftian horrors, strange lands, a blind sorcerer, and a gunslinger samurai. I am sure some of you are reading the above text and thinking I am nuts. I'm sure some are reading it and are intrigued. To those who have decided to continue reading, thank you. Before I begin explaining the plot, I just want to say a few things. Not rules, just important things you should know:
All that being said, I'm a pretty nice guy and I'm pretty easy to get along with. Now that I got all the boring stuff out of the way, it's time to get to the meat and potatoes of this thread. If you are interested in hearing more, please PM me. Now, the plot goes a little something like this:
As long as your character can remember, they have been experiencing the same visions. Dreams and nightmares don't quite explain it. One can often sense the difference between the dream and reality. These....visions don't feel like dreams. They're too vivid, too strange, and sometimes too horrifying to be a fantasy or even a delusion. It's like seeing through a one way mirror. Seeing to a world that can't exist and can't see or hear you. A world of gods, monsters, and utter madness.
For years your character has gone to therapy, trying to make sense of this 'land of two moons', make sense of this 'shadow man', and of this insanity that haunts your dreams. You keep telling yourself you're crazy, you hope you're crazy at least. Deep in your gut however you sense these visions are real. At the end of every dream, a voice calls to you. It's distant like a memory. 'The Spire is waiting and the Dreamer must awaken' it said.
One night however, she experiences a new vision that stood out. It felt more like a warning than a normal vision. Like a glimpse into the future. The sky was swirling like water in a drain and flashing with lightning. Sky red as Hell itself. At the center, the Spire; a massive structure made from stone black as ebony and covered in strange carvings beyond number. A structure more massive than anything that could ever exist in our world. The Spire began to crumble and the ground began to shake, pieces of the struce crashing into the earth below and sending tremors for miles.
A great darkness began to loom on the horizon, a darkness that grew closer and darker. As the dream ended, two things stuck out. First was the voice. It was like a whisper now, weak and even more distant. 'Find the Tower of Magnus, Dreamer' it said. Finally the end of the vision. As the looming darkness swallowed the light, a massive gash cut through the sky. As the darkness began to leech it's way into the Gash it became apparent what could be seen on the other side, a blue jewel in an ocean of darkness. Earth.
- This story is rated M for mature due to blood and gore, language, alcohol use, tobacco use, and all that other adult jazz that makes us feel all warm and fuzzy.
- On an average day, I can post about two to three paragraphs per post. However on a good day I've been known to post 5 to 6. I usually match what you post me, so the more you give me the more I will give you
- Please, please, PLEASE put some effort into what you post. I understand writers block and I understand not being able to respond but please don't give me barely a paragraph of I give you 3 thought out and detailed paragraphs. It's very frustrating and it's a good way to lose me as a partner.
- Understand that I am currently confined to my phone for the time being so my posts may come in slowly. Understand as well that I have a fiancee AND a full-time job. I will try to post at least once every day assuming I have time.
- I don't require those who RP with me to adopt multiple characters, however being able to play multiple charactersis a definite plus. For this story I will be playing at least 4 main characters, do with that knowledge what you will
