Something like that. With Autotomize, Monado can make himself weightless (Autotomize raises the users Speed stat 2 stages while lowering their weight 100kg. Honedge only weigh 2kg) so that should help. Monado also has his own attacking move (like Fury Cutter). So if Lupus told him to, he could ready one in a battle so that he could use it by swinging Monado

Lupus could hold monado in his mouth for combat

or lupus could use scratch the do a front flip and swing monado into something or wield it in his teeth...

so monado would use its moves to help lupus ?

I was kind of hoping that we could ignore the Pokedex entries, because quite frankly, some of them don't make any sense (ie Cubone's; according to the 'Dex, every single Cubone wears the skull of it's mother. Not only would this mean that laying a Cubone egg somehow killed the mother, but that newborn Cubone somehow found their dead mother and took off their skull to use as a helmet. Not only that, but since the species of a Pokemon is determined by the mother, that would mean the the Cubone evolution line should be extinct due to the decreases in Cubones being born.)Speaking of Cubone:As for how he would wield Monado; I'd say using him as a tail flail could work (Monado could hold onto Lupus' tail with the hand part of his sash and Lupus could just swing him around)

hey card How does the wielding of Honedge work? (plus lupus can't wield it properly unless he evolves)

because this pokedex entry slightly scares me.
Apparently this Pokémon is born when a departed spirit inhabits a sword. It attaches itself to people and drinks their life force.

"Well er Thank you Wilow" Lupus said as he slowly Walked inside Looking at the array of shelf's each one in pristine condition each book seemed like a trove of knowledge that he had never seen. His eyes wide with awe Lupus walked inside. He noticed the messy desk and smirked. it seemed the Braixen had been doing research. Lupus looked inside a empty room it had a bed thats for sure it seemed like a guest room. Lupus made a mental note to remember where it was. before leaving it in one piece. he didn't want to break anything after just getting inside the guild. Lupus Made a unexpected growling noise "So hungry" he said to almost anyone or anything that would listen. as he made his way back to the others.

"hey Sharp-sword" Lupus said looking at the honedge. "want to work together on the first adventure we go on?" Lupus asked. The sword seemed powerful enough. Sharp even. Honedges where powerful Pokemon that's for sure Lupus stomach growled again louder then before.
