Everything was set. Her family. His family. He'd even helped her parents finish the decking and the gazebo last week. He had all the food ready, everyone was laughing. He'd passed by each couple and each friend, making sure of speak to everyone. Today needed to be perfect. David frowned and looked at himself in the mirror. He still had bags under his eyes. Maybe he was working too hard. But there was no way for him to stop, not with everything he needed to do.

He gave a short sigh and washed his face. David headed back out into the crowds and hurried round to find his girlfriend. He spotted her briefly and chose to move towards her father. Of course, he'd already planned everything with them. Motioning towards him, David climbed into the gazebo and called for everyone's attention.

"Hi. Er, hello." He coughed a little and felt his throat clench. He wasn't a public speaker, never had been. Out of comfort, he placed his hands together and began to ring them slowly. "I guess it seems random to call a party like this for no real reason. Aside from my parents anniversary, of course." A few people laughed. Daniel gave a nervous laugh and his hands began to move faster. "I should cut to the chase and ask my girlfriend to join me." He smiled towards her and gestured her to come closer. "It's been four and a half years since we first met. I guess if it hadn't been raining that day, neither of us would be here today."

He pulled his hands apart for a second and slipped a hand into his pocket. "You've been my one concern and my one thought for the past four and a half years. A lot of people have said we moved far too fast and I won't deny I agreed from time to time. Despite that, were still here." He took hold of Jennifer's hand and squeezed it gently. With a nervous sigh, he dropped to one knee and opened the box he'd been holding for some time. Inside sat the ring Jennifer had once shown a friend; David had spent months tracking her favourite ring down and found a copy in Italy. "Jenny, you're the love of my life and I ask you one question. I just hope the answers yes."

Perhaps it had not been part of his plan. Yet the instant he knelt down, a somewhat familiar face passed into the crowd. Tall, tanned, and smart. A vibrant military uniform passed into view, standing out in the see of black and white.

Hope Mahz isn't stressing over stuff
"Psst!"

"Psst!"

"George!"

"Oy, dickhead!"

"What?" George groaned, turning from his transfiguration notes.
"What you think of all this muggle murder crap?"
"Jesus, I know no more than you."
"Yeah but your Dad-"
"He tells me Jack. Just leave it."
"I heard he's a purist, trying to purify the Wizarding race."
"Jesus, that's lame."
"Proper mean streak."

"Travers! Avery! Nott! Be quiet!" All three boys dropped to silence, Traver slipping a copy of the Daily Prophet into his pocket again. "I expected more from you, Nott. It takes a lot to be an Auror. Concentration is key." George immediately rolled his eyes and continued to make notes. He didn't need that kind of pressure. He wasn't even sure he wanted to be an Auror. His passion was duelling, always had been. There was a possibility he could join a professional team, play against people of his own skill level. Yet not with his dad on his back.

Class ended soon enough and all students quickly packed their belongings, making their way to the door.
"George, it is still your passion, correct?" The professor asked, expecting him to nod. Of course he did. "May I suggest you focus on your studies this year. You're father may be Head of that department but it doesn't just take name alone. Winning the cup this year may also help." Again, George nodded.

He gave an almighty sigh and headed out into the busy corridor. It was only September but he already hadn't least three places on the duelling team to fill before Halloween and homework to finish. Let alone anything else.

Hahahhahaha, they never will be.
Shae waved a hand towards him, quickly shifting it to appear as if she was brushing her own hair. It was ironic, yes. Incredibly. She remained in the room for a moment longer then left, angry and frustrated. Her dad had more experience than most people for the job. She headed downstairs and picked up her bag, passing a glance towards the Shinigami who'd pretty much just made himself at home. Rolling an eye, she headed back upstairs, pushing open the door to her room.

"I can buy more." She commented, quietly. The last thing she needed was anyone catching her talking to thin air. She shut the door and dropped her bag onto the bed. It wasn't a comfortable feeling. The guilt had managed to stay away but yet the feeling of pure hate and annoyance towards the man who'd chosen his. Twenty-seven year old son with no real experience over a man who had more than thirty years of experience and a high patient survival rate, third highest in the country. She slumped down into her chair and stared at the wall for a moment.

The temptation was there. She stood slowly and moved over to the tv, switching it on and choosing to seat herself on her bed instead. A hand drove into her bag, pulling out the books she needed for homework. She didn't need to think about it anymore. Yet there it was, wedged in the middle of her maths book. She shouldn't. She had no reason to. None at all. He was the second wealthiest man in the city and the hospital's largest donor and sponsor. Yes, it would reach the news and hell, it would be revenge, but what for? Her dad was still a doctor, still one of the best. She stared at the cover for a moment. A long minute passed before she slipped across the room for her laptop.

She searched quietly before finding his name plastered at the top of the hospital home page. She'd not noticed the pen still in her hand until she subconsciously clicked on the lid. A few moments passed. Then a few more. Perhaps even ten minutes of simply staring at a name. She wouldn't get caught. The man was nearly sixth years old.

Akane Kurogane

The name stayed in her head for some time. Turning backwards and forth. Eventually, after a some of ten minutes, she'd scrawled his name into the pages of her new book. Upon realisation, she tossed the book across the bed and slumped down once more.
Cashews are from fruit. Yeah..
Don't worry, I'm looking forward to this.
I'll be as patient as need be :)
((Welcome back.))

She really was exicitable. George almost leapt out of his seat when she screamed some rather angry distaste out loud.
"It flies by." He stammered. They did have an entire country to cross, on a steam train. He'd heard muggle trains were faster, but there was something spectacular about steam powered trains. Perhaps it was the magnificence. "You've got a whole year ahead of you, more things than you'll ever imagine." If Hogwarts was really as wonderful as he'd been told, then things were really going to take off, he couldn't quite picture it in his head.

His own parents- well, his mum would already be home and his father would be fully aware of his sons new attendance to the school everything started at. His stomach turned at the thought. Both his parents had been Slytherin's, his grandparents and his cousins; at least most of them. He didn't need to be related to his death eater father in any other way, he shared a name and some hair, that was all. He didn't want or need to share a house.

He watched her amazement for a second and smiled. Deffintely muggle born. He couldn't wait to see her face when they finally arrived. She was entering a whole new world and nothing was ever going to be the same again.
"Some of them are nice. I've had banoffee pie more than once." He added, rolling up his sleeves. "There's plenty of sweets like this out there. Liquorice snaps, candy wands which produce sparks when you use them. They're not harmful, just fun." George , despite having forced himself out of his comfort zone, was feeling at ease. Sadie could quite well be a friend by the time they got off the train.

He quickly laughed.
"It's a lot like muggle snap, the cards just explode randomly. Makes the games a lot harder. Especially when you're trying to match a pair and this whole deck goes up." He smiled.
