David followed Cordie, keeping an eye on her but making sure that he didn't smother her. He'd learned that despite what they said and did, some girls didn't want help. David blinked as a boy waved towards them. He gave a little grin and waved back.

"Like I said I can see the dead...and somtimes...well everyone dies, even the wicked, they become demons; it's not something I want to deal with right now." She said rubbing her temples. "I'm going to go to the campfire." She said taking a deep breath. "Maybe if I'm around enough people they'll leave me alone." She said as she took a step, wobbling as her vision became spotty. "okay maybe I'll stay here for a second." She said taking a deep breath and leaning against her horse.

David looked on, preparing to help her if she fell again. "Okay, take the time you need."

"Demons." She said taking a deep breath. "I...I need to go to sleep." She said slowly standing up and groaning. "How hard did I hit my head?"

"De . . . mons?" muttered David. "That sounds bad. Anyway, you hit your head pretty hard. If you need to sleep, go ahead; I'll make sure no one disturbs you. We can talk about whatever happened later, if you want."

Meruin nodded. "If it's fine with you, I'll be going to my room. I have a good feeling about something . . ." And with that, the little magician went to her place.

Once there, her face flushed with excitement and her whole body trembled. She took slow and shaky steps towards a certain area of her room. There, perched reverently at the corner was a book that was larger than Meruin, her most prized possesion: Her Grimoire.

Meruin opened it, stared for a good few moments, then screamed uncharacteristicly in a high pitch of utter joy.

Sol grinned, "Well it's a pity to end such a good fight without a climatic finish but it is your choice. Match over victory for Tyler congrat-" Sol's speech cut off as Tyler coughed up blood and fell to the floor, Sol quickly went over and do a quick check on his vitals, he seemed to be fine, just exhaustion. Luckiliy Sol knew where everybody's dorm room was so he picked up Tyler and started to head over to Tyler's room. "Good match Meruin, I'm sure you'll be more up for it later in the year."

Meruin sighed. "In the firsst place, I was not a fighter - research and discovery were my main goals. I've no interest in a ifght that does not further that. I've discovered something new, and I'm uninjured; in a way that practically makes me the winner."

Meruin shook her head. This was going on for too long. While she enjoyed it at first, the feeling was gone. Sighing, she dispelled the mist. She turned towards Sol. "There's no point in contining this. I have better things to do, so I forfeit," she said blandly.

Cordie didn't move, actually her horse just stopped all together. Her head twitched three times, her eyes rolled back into her head, and she slumped, sliding off her horse, her head hitting the ground with a sickening slap.

David's eyes widened before he disappeared from the top of his horse. He grabbed Cordie gently, but firmly. "Hey! Hey! What happened! Dammit, respond!"
