Refuge of the Forgotten

Rayon yelped in surprise as the temperature suddenly dropped around him, and Riley gripped threatening spikes of ice while facing him. Not understanding why he was reacting that way, Rayon panicked and his invisibility instinctively dropped, only for it to be replaced with another ability, one most suited for fleeing: Flight.

The boy shot up near eight meters into the air, flailing his limbs like a headless chicken as he did so. "Don't hurt me don't hurt don't hurt me!" he squawked, literally hanging in the air while curling into a defensive ball. "I was just curious, that's all!"

Unnoticed by everyone, Rayon's attention was fully on the group as they argued. His eyes were transfixed on their weaponry, their abilities, and he began wondering if any of them could teach him. They all looked so cool! He wondered if he looked as cool while he was flying, or maybe when he shot out his laser beams. In any case . . .

"Hey, hey guys can you teach me how to use a bow! or a gun! or that ice thing!" he suddenly shouted excitedly. "Those weapons looks awesome! I wonder if I can get my own?"

While he was shouting and waving his arms expectantly in between Ephraim and Victoria, he'd forgotten one thing: currently, he was invisible. Among all his divine abilities, invisibility was the one power that kept acting up. Unless he was using another power, he would suddenly and randomly turn invisible, sometimes it even happened while he slept, resulting in people jumping on him sometimes. Invisibility was both the blessing and curse of Medjed, the most obscure of the Egyptian gods; unlike Rayon, however, Medjed knew how to use that obscurity to his advantage. Rayon couldn't do much but whine about it.

Of course, in his excitement, he had no idea he was invisible right now, so the most anyone could tell he was there was a disembodied voice right in front of Victoria.

In Character Premise

In this world, everyone is unique (of course, that raises the argument that if everyone is unique, then no one is, but that's for another time . . .) and the uniqueness of every person is usually attributed to one thing: talent. No matter how well one argues, it is a fact that everyone possess a innate sense of excellence at a particular field. For some, in could be something relatively normal, like sports or mathematics; for others, it may be more specialized. All that matters is that you and everyone around you is indeed good at something. There comes a point in time where those talents have a chance to be nurtured and enhanced. This could happen at the gym, or somewhere online, where you find the one place your talent truly shines. Sometimes, this place is a highly sophisticated place that takes some searching to find, but sometimes, it could also be a highly normal place, like school for example. At school, there are many chances for talent to develop. Sportsmen join varsities and creativity is nurtured in similarly artistic societies. Here, you could cultivate the talent you possess to extraordinary levels! Why, you may even bend the laws of physics one day! Haha, of course, that's going a bit to far . . . or is it?

There is a certain school that for some reason or another, gifts all the students under its building with abilities far beyond normal logic. The teachers are of course, unaware of this, and the students themselves have made it a point to keep them uninvolved. All major activity is done by night, and powers are not to be used during the day - those are the two most ironclad rules among the countless other unspoken ones. This certain school has been divided into five factions (six, if you count those unaffiliated with any faction) based upon the rulers of the school: five students who through effort or luck have become the most influential and powerful personalities on campus. Everyone has their own agenda, and the school itself is rife with mysteries and unsolved puzzles - most especially the recently discovered underground entrance that no one has yet dared to open.

What happens next is up to you . . .

Out Of Character Summary:
You're a highschooler that came to a certain boarding school, when all of a sudden you've discovered that you've developed powers and abilities! As a character, you have to navigate your way through normal life, school politics, and general chaos. Sounds fun, right? The final destination for this RP is the slow discovery of the schools secrets, all the while struggling with your grades!

Rules of the School! (IC)

• No exiting the campus without permission!

• Schooling hours start: 6 am until 12 pm, with classes resuming after lunch break at: 2 pm until 4:30 pm.
• All canteens serve breakfast at 5 am until 6 am ONLY. Students are recommended to wake-up early in order to avoid missing breakfast.

Rayon stared blankly as Ephraim gave his speech. He didn't understand half of it, but as people around him started cheering, he decided to cheer along with them.

In truth, Rayon was feeling a little down. He missed his mother, and he didn't know anyone here. It was his desire to make a friend that led him to join the crowd.

With Ephraims speech over, Rayon turned his attention to the target range. A particularly loud rattling sound caught his attention, and he watched with interest as Victoria fired away.

"Woah woah, that's so cool! Were'd you get that huh?" he said excitedly.

@Dirty Dan Sounds good. It's easy to picture intelligence = psychic powers. Although a good number of the NPC students have abilities like that. In any case, the more creative you are, the more singular your ability will be!

Medjed, the Smiter. He who flies, shoots out of his eyes, and yet is unseen. A very, very unknown Egyptian god, who is also related to Osiris. He looks like a man with a bed-sheet covering everything but his feet.

Appearance:
A black haired little elf of a boy, he has sharp eyes and dark skin. His hair is shaggy, and unkempt, not to mention long, reaching up until his shoulders. His signature piece of clothing is a light brown trench coat longer than he is, so the edges hit the ground and the sleeves are to large. He wears sandals most of the time.

Skills/Powers/Weapons:
As a child of Medjed, Rayon is blessed with five divine abilities:
1. He can turn invisible.
2. He can launch disintegrating rays from his eyes.
3. He can fly.
4. Immune to heat and fire.
5. Great strength

Strengths/Weaknesses:
His greatest strength is his list of powerful divine abilities, however, his weakness is that due to his youth, inexperience, and lack of practice, he can only use one at a time, and with a limited amount of time. Using his abilities drains his stamina quickly, and going over his limits could cripple him. Also, unless he is using his abilities, Rayon is only as strong, fast, and durable as a regular twelve year old; in other words, not very strong. He is also impatient, reckless, and prone to assumptions.

That asides, he is a very cheerful and optimistic kid, and despite how young he is, he is more intelligent than average and possesses a strong will, and drive to succeed.

He has a mother complex (in the non-sexual kind) and is very attached and clingy to women who treat him kindly; he also becomes submissive to whoever he is attached to in this manner, like a child to their mother.
