Today's the first time in a long time that I've felt empty. Not even sad or tired, just empty. This quarantine is getting to me more than I thought.

@Jessica Bunny: You live in America! College is optional (and expensive) and around you is opportunity. I believe you can make it!

Yay people! This should be enough to get things started. I'll have the OOC up soon.
@Rune_Alchemist
I'm going for a rather traditional stance on non-humans for this one. That is, they aren't necessarily evil, but they're certainly chaotic, since their morality is incomparable. The relationship they have with humans are either as familiars (again, in the traditional sense, not the master-servant one) or adversaries. Of course that isn't to say that you can't have an inhuman character, it's just that most of the time non-human characters already have magic they're contented with.

Most likely characters that aren't human are changelings or demi's. Then again, it also depends on the kind of creature, since some of them are rather human like in lore. You should probably PM the details.

"The term begins on the Spring Equinox (That's March 20 in mundane terms! See you're learning already!), please take care to arrive by 12:30 AM - yes you read that right, AM, as in, Ante Merediem, as in before midday, as in before dawn!

"Once again, thank you for choosing B.U.M., and may you live in interesting times!

Magic exists. Magic is mysterious. Magic is attractive. Magic is powerful. Magic is all of this, and more.

But above everything, however, magic can be studied.

And that is where the Breakfast University of Magic comes into play. It is one of hundreds of secret schools scattered throughout the globe, and also among the foremost, perhaps even the best. It's Founder and current Headmaster, at least, is unrivaled among mages, and among the archmages, first among peers, and he has been for seven hundred years.

The University is an alliance of different schools of magic, all dedicated to fostering the potential of the magic users who walk through its hallowed halls. Although, rather than a conventional school, it is more akin to a huge research laboratory with occasional lectures. Fights are also more common and accepted than what would be permissible at mundane universities - it has to be, otherwise combat oriented magic users would wreck the place going mad from boredom!

Anyone can be accepted here, but not everyone; the standards for acceptance into the University mean that at the very least, some measure of control has been attained. It does not accept complete novices.

OOC

Magic Ranks - Mages are classified according to power, control, and their singularity - that is, the percentage of people that can replicate magic similar to theirs.

CS

Field Trips - Only Novices and above can go on school field trips. Some locations may require you to be at least Journeyman rank, and sometimes with a Masters permission or presence. Field Trips are usually undertaken for the purpose of gathering materials, study, or experience. Locations include the likes of the realm of the Fae, Atlantis, and Tartarus. Requests for a field trip must be submitted through the Department of Academic Affairs with at the signatures of at least three participants - you are not allowed to go on a field trip alone!

Welp, that's everything until the RP proper starts, then I'll add more. In short, it's a kinda sandbox-y magic Roleplay, with an emphasis on adventure and concepts.

Interested?

Meruin, upon finding a nice corner to settle in, had fallen asleep. And as her master could attest to, she was a very, very heavy sleeper. It could even be said that Meruin sleeping was a magic in and of itself - it was nearly impossible to wake her up if she decided she did not want to.

What did this mean, in the grand scheme of things? It meant quite simply that she had fallen asleep through all the chaos going down below the island. That was not to say she was unaware of what was going on; even asleep, a small portion of her awareness was kept on the waking world. The only reason she did not go down to join the others was simply because it was not to her interest. Why would it be? She had seen Heartless before, and even more than that, she had seen creatures far worse than they, with all their basic attributes pronounced to their furthest.

The moment the Headmaster stepped into the hall, however, Meruin's eyes blearily opened, and her eyes found the man quickly. If he was here, it was time to get up.

Picking up her luggage - which consisted of a single back filled with papers - she silently moved to join the rest of the students, looking for the most part an uninteresting, uninterested, and tiny waif of a girl.

She sat down, crossed legged on the floor. This had the unfortunate effect of lifting her skirt and exposing racy black lingerie, but from the look on her face, Meruin hardly cared.

Meruin paid attention to the Headmaster, mentally jotting down the rules, before frowning at the third one. She was hoping to conduct experiments in the confines of her room. Nothing big, and only slightly dangerous (then again, when was magic ever not slightly dangerous?); to be limited only to a certain room was constricting and frankly annoying. She decided to talk with the Headmaster about this later. It would prove problematic otherwise.

The other rules were of little note, as they were somewhat expected. Still her interest perked at the demonstration of the uses of the 'Training Room' - constricting it may be to only be able to use her powers there, but she could thing of a million different uses for the applications of the room. It was really very impressive; especially its ability to endlessly supply the users with stamina and energy. Oh the things she would do . . .

After the demonstration, the Headmaster stepped forward once more, and all but asked them to introduce themselves.

The first one to do so was a necromancer by the name of Kaito Chigusa, accompanied by Raz the shapeshifter. The summoning of the dragon, while impressive, was a bit clumsily done - no surprise, considering how difficult it looked for him.

Next was a boy named Zyxon. His ability to manipulate fear was nothing notable, unless there was a deeper mechanism behind it that could bypass her potential defenses.

Third was a literal airhead named Devonis, who thoughtfully used his time to flirt with a student by conjuring a vision of him in the room. Why though?

Fourth was a golem . . . it was literally just a golem. It could blend into the shadows and manipulate fire . . . but it was a golem. What was a golem doing on stage? Where was its creator? Was it a sentient golem? If it was sentient what was it doing here at a school?

Meruin shook her head. No use over thinking it. She get more opportunities to observe the creature, so long as they were both inside the school.

Deciding not to waste anymore time, the diminutive girl stepped past the others, walking towards the front of the stage. Green-gray eyes swept past the crowd, analyzing them, evaluating them. Everyone was probably expecting something, any kind of display of power, but the Headmaster never did say that they had to show their abilities, correct? Still, it would probably be rude to them so . . .

Meruin conjured a small glowing ball of light in her hands, letting it float up feebly before disappearing. Her face was as blank as ever, but she seemed unusually pleased at her display.

"Meruin Hazy," she said, and mulled about what to say next. The Headmaster did instruct them to say a bit about themselves, something they wouldn't mind sharing. ". . . all my undergarments were chosen for me by my Master. I don't usually wear them," she said with a shrug. Afterwards, she stepped down and returned to her seat.
"Yeowch!" yelped Solomon as a burning sensation erupted on his hands. Despite the pain, he held on to the egg, not risking dropping it lest it prove less sturdy than it looked. He felt a rush of energy surge through him, and he exhaled in awe.

Turning his head as Charles clapped, he nodded, following him back to the field. The mage gave them a quick rundown on how to take care of the eggs and Solomon wished he brought a notepad with him. Looks like he would be spending a lot of time with it then, despite the incubators they were given, and he began wondering about the nature of the bond he had formed.

His next words, however, caught his attention. Elemental Magic training. For the . . . what time this day, Solomon began grinning wide and excitedly. Before that however, he showed them around, stopping finally at their rooms. It was comfortable looking, to say the least. Solomon put his egg into the incubator and flopped into his bed, savoring its fluffiness.

"Uuuh," he moaned contentedly.
@Maria 127 Pretty much anything except racing games. Although RTS and MOBA's are my most frequent. I'd play more FPS's if I had the money to afford some of the newer ones.
My bad.

My gaming fingers are itchin :3
