Gearing up to get started with one or two new threads!

Bio

As a role player, I like to play my characters in a way that enthralls others. If I can make people care about my character and what happens to him/her, then I feel I have succeeded. My play style is very much about having fun, but its also about challenging others to make choices and grow their characters.

I am a military member without many ways to outlet the stress of life, so I come to role playing to get away and get lost in the worlds we create. I love to write and I have been doing it for years. I'm not afraid to hop into a super serious, super in-depth thread, nor am I afraid to take part in your typical high school RP. If it interests me, I want to jump in and start driving the story.

I've been a big fan of the game Destiny for almost two years now (since beta), and I've always though it wold make a great role play on many fronts. From combat, to politics, to even slic of life, I think Destiny has the potential to be a well-rounded, casual roleplay. If anybody is interested, I'm preparing a plot as we speak. I have been writting a fan fiction for a few months now that you can read on my dreamwidth profil solo_player.dreamwidth.org

The fan fiction follows my Titan and Warlock in an episodic-style story where different pieces are coming slowly together. This rp will move faster, especially with other people involved! I'm excited to see if there's any interest, and I'll be editing in character sheets and a simple outline of the setting.
Fantasy rp's are a little hit or miss for me, but I'm interested enough to want to know more.
@POOHEAD189 very nice signature gif by the way ^.^;
*peeks head in* did somebody say zombies?
Sounds interesting. I'd be inclined to learn more.
For a long time, it was only whispers. Unsolved deaths, bodies that were never found near the base of Mount Fuji, places were people strangely disappeared. These things were accepted as mysterious normalcy for a long time..

.. But you can't keep anything secret for long. In America, a man was said to have been crazed by drugs. Bath salts was their claim, at least I think it was. He ate a person's face and was detained, never to be heard of again. The story of Hannibal the Cannibal in movies and books was a big hit. It was all here and there. Then, all at once, the secret broke out. Rumors of a group of people who are other people. At first, people called it a cult. Some didn't believe in their existence at all. You know how it gets. Social media is the world's parliament, but they couldn't ignore Tokyo.

They called these people "Ghouls".

I was ten years old when the largest known group of ghouls was exposed, as well as a worldwide organization that had been combating them for many years. The Aogiri Tree was what the ghoul coven called themselves. They were forever hunted by the Commision of Counter Ghoul. I know, sounds like a bad translation. It's Japanese. Literally translated, it reads "Ghoul Countermeasure Bureau". The ghouls called them "Doves". I'm not sure why. I guess it was easier for them to say.

The CCG infiltrated Aogiri headquarters and battled the legendary ghoul known as "Centipede" for the shape of his ghoul organ, his Kagune. See, ghouls have these... tails I guess you would call them. They all look different and come from different parts of their backs, but they are all deadly in their own way and every single one takes on a different form. Thus ghouls are given nicknames since they have made a point to always wear masks to hide their identities. See, most ghouls look just like anyone else. In the movies, a vampire or werewolf are easy to spot. Remember Twilight? She basically knew right away. It's not that easy. Your best friend could be a ghoul. Mine was....

.. Anyway, after that, ghoul covens started popping up in every country. Here in the states, we have the Hive, and they have proven the strongest group of ghouls the world has ever seen. They don't attack and raid like covens in Japan or Germany. They play the political game. Their anonymous leader, known as Queen, has been making movements in the government and social media. They attack if threatened, but mostly keep to themselves, but the American branch of the CCG is not so calm. Armed with the American military standard, they have raided many ghoul hideouts, but the Queen and her lieutenants have never been found.

Surprisingly, there aren't that many more deaths than usual. It's known that ghouls can survive about a month on one feeding, but people are still antsy. Me? Oh, I'm just telling the story. Look, a while back, the ghouls were overcome by something no one expected. Internal conflict. The tumors tell of a small group of people who showed up out of the blue and began to combat them, and the CCG alike. Hey said the fighting was "unbalancing natural order" and that they sought to fix it all. Yeah, see! I knew you'd want to hear about it. And I have all the details. Ready? 'Kay, listen....

Fire and Ice: The Ghoul Wars

Cain listened to the words the girl spoke. He was confused. Why was the man's fear or anger relevant? It didn't make sense. He was a potential threat. Now he was not. In Cain's mind, that was all there was to it, but to the girl it was much more. This didn't make any sense.

"Then someone who is afraid and angry is not a threat?" He asked, searching for the truth of what she was getting at. But she wasn't done. She went on to explain how he was not intimidating, but he was. He had not changed appearance. He had not done anything out of his own normalcy. That was who he was, and yet she was claiming he had two different, distinct faces.

This caused him pain. It was a pain he did not understand. He did not want to frighten the girl. He had to make her safe. This did not compute. It was an irrational thing to consider not wanting to frighten another. What possible gain would be achieved in being conscious of her fear? And yet he could not bring himself to allow this to happen in the future. This... surprised him.

He looked down at Amuné, thinking of her as having a name for the first time, and was unsure of how to reply.

"My name is Cain." He said simply, reaching out and summoning the same obsidian glass flower he had two years prior.

Cain allowed the girl to lead him away from the frozen man and child. He replaced the knife as he sauntered along with her. The height difference mean that, despite the quickness in her step. His own lanky figure casually strode.

They were a sight to behold. A royal girl in command of a monster. Cain thought back to the night before, when he had been charged with this task. The employer remained in the shadows, but addressed him formally, his voice echoing off the decorated mansion walls of velvet and mahogany. "Find this girl, and bring her to me safe and sound, but do as she says. You will be her faithful dog of sorts. Fate will bring the two of you here again." His thoughts of this were brief and cold. They're analytical and emotionless.

His thoughts returned to the present. Anger. That was an emotion he could recognize. Fear, he could detect, but hers was a strange combination of the two. It was then that he realized that emotions were like strokes of a blade. You can make hundreds of strikes and only make one wound, but that wound is drastically different than that of a single blow. Yes, his research was paying off.

"Where are you taking me, child?" He asked without the faintest of true inflection. The crunching of dirt beneath his boots were more human than his own voice.

The man let out a boisterous laugh, unable to contain himself. He laughed at the display of authority from a little girl. Cain did not understand this. She was superior to him. In the clan, such behavior was punishable by skin hooks, which didn't sound as bad as they really were.

Cain took and replaced his mask. Once it was on, he stood slowly and deliberately while turning to face the man. He slapped his hands together in the 'Ne' handsign and incantated, "Shadow style, Veil of Atu." He said apathetically. A sphere of blackness surrounded them all, blotting out the sunlight and encasing them in total darkness. This was where Cain always had the tactical advantage. Once the veil was up he formed the 'tatsu' and casted another spell, "Dragon style, Sight of Ardious." His eyes changed, not that anyone could see. As he held up a half-tora with one hand to hold the two spells, his eyes changed from metallic nickel to firey orange and red with a slit pupil. He could now see in the dark as if it were day.

Cain darted behind the man and placed a small, four-inch bladed knife that he had been hiding in his sleeve. It was one of many blades on his person. The edge was so sharp, merely touching the man's neck skin, opened a hairline wound. He spoke one more word, with absolute calmness, "release." And the blackness and dragon eyes were dispelled. The entire maneuver lasted bout eight seconds.. which was slow for him.

The peasant man stood frozen in fear and disbelief. It was likely he had never seen serious magic before, let alone the kind that Cain had created himself.

"Ah." Cain realized, "Yes I understand now." He said, lifting the blade from the man's neck. He stepped around the man. The color had rained from his face, and his eyes were wide. Cain stopped in front of him, and put he blade up to his throat again, but more in a pointing manner than an offensive one. Still, the point of the knife drew blood as the ex-assassin turned his view away from the man to address the little girl. "This is 'surprise', yes?"
