Katherine Argall

Height: 163 cm (5’ 3”)

Weight: 58 kg (127.9 lbs)

Name: Katherine Argall (AKA Kathy)

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Species/Race: Human

Powers:
1. "Floor Tilting" - The only ability Kathy had back in Athalia Academy. She can walk on any surface that can support her weight. Ignoring the laws of physics (mostly gravity), she redirects the influence of gravity towards the surface she is walking/standing on, enabling her to walk normally on virtually any surface. Anything she can carry with her normal physical strength can also be taken with her (i.e. if she’s holding something, then the object will experience a gravitational pull towards the surface Katherine is walking on instead of towards the actual ground). Further details available on the wiki.

2. "Weight Alteration" - An ability discovered during the last 5 years since Athalia’s initial destruction. She can adjust the weight of an object she comes into contact with; making it heavier or lighter at will. It must be an object she can actually gasp (meaning this ability is impossible to use on liquids or gases), and her ability is maintained only as long as she remains in contact with the object. When making the object heavier, Kathy herself only feels the original weight of the object while her ability is in place. Therefore, no matter how heavy the object becomes she will be able to lift it provided that she was able to lift the original weight before the Weight Alteration. In reverse, when she makes an object lighter only Kathy will be able to feel the change (meaning she can lift objects that would otherwise be far too heavy for her), while others will continue to feel the original weight of the object.

Weaknesses:
1. "Mono-tasking" - Her abilities cannot be used simultaneously. She can either redirect her own gravity at her feet, or ignore gravity while lifting something with her hands. Not both at the same time.

2. "Zero Tolerance for Sourness" - She cannot deal with sour food. It’s to the point where she can’t even drink orange juice without cringing.

3. "Defying Density" - Despite the fact that the human body is supposedly less dense than water and, therefore by theory, should float... Kathy sinks down to the very bottom of the swimming pool.

4. "Passive" - She hasn't fixed her tendency to want to run away from problems or conflicts if she can rather than to face them head-on.

5. "Mortal" - She is just a human being and lacks the advantages other species may have.

6. "To Be Revealed"

Personality:
Generally a friendly and approachable person. She has a bad habit of over-thinking and ends up seeming to be dazed at times. She likes to take things at a leisurely pace and is fairly good at keeping herself calm. On the rare occasions she becomes ‘excited’ (good or bad), she can quickly calm herself back down. Katherine loves simple interactions and small talk with others, but is not comfortable with giving advice for problems or becoming involved in conflict. Not being comfortable with it doesn't mean she won’t, however, it does mean she’ll hesitate to become involved and will look for alternative means if at all possible. She feels no shame in running away (literally) from her problems when needed.

She loves people with a good sense of humor, even though she’s not very good at telling jokes herself and sometimes misses subtle humor thrown in by others from time to time.

Also... "To Be Revealed"

Background: Born to an average middle-class family, Katherine’s ability was discovered during her crawling stages. After an initial panic-filled event where were parents were attempt to lure her away from the chandelier and back to the ground, her entire home was made ‘Katherine-proof’: filled with furniture with rounded edges and randomly places soft cushions in every room (in case she fell).

She was home-schooled for kindergarten and the beginning of elementary, until she was sufficiently old enough to gain the trust of her parents to hide her ability. But in all honesty, what child can resist showing off to her friends? Some children thought her ability was cool, but others shunned her for being different. The worst reactions came from the teachers and parents, they regarded her like some sort of strange creature they were afraid of getting close to. She tries not to let her past bother her, but even now she’s quite sensitive to nicknames like, “Spider-woman”, “Fly girl”, “Possessed freak”, and etc…

plz visit the ooc frequently theo

if you don't come back sometime i will leave just because i'm theo-sick

Ha-ha, not sure if a now-outsider should be intruding in on an RP's OOC but... I'll try to ensure that you don't leave out of theo-sickness. xD See you NK, I'll miss your unique characters and awesome shipping support~! Oh, and your drawings and... -List gets too long to bother typing. Lol.-
Hi everyone,

I think this is a fairly good time to say my farewells since my character is not engaging anyone in the IC and I won't hold anyone up. I'll really miss everyone that was a part of the old Athalia, and I think it's a real pity that I haven't been able to RP with the people that joined in starting with the reboot.

In short: Thank you for the fun times. And good-bye! I sincerely hope that this RP goes on for a loooooooong time and that the remaining RPers have a lot of fun!! ^^
Just peeking in to say that I'm still around and alive. I am in the process of writing out a post... But I'm just waiting for the right timing to get back into the IC.

You mean from the previous day? I think that would be too confusing to throw in a Carmen post after I've done two Vikki posts from the present day. I'll check it out though.

At some point we can do a flashback collab to finish their conversation if you'd like.

Ah, no... Never mind then. I'll figure something out.
Hm. DP, will you post as Carmen anytime soon or should I just skip over to the next day so I can bring Kathy over to the inn to join everyone else again?
Kathy smiled as she received the third hug of the day, and yet another warm welcome by a familiar friend. Wrapping her arms around Carmen as well, though keeping her grip slack enough that the skylark wouldn’t have trouble moving away later, she returned the embrace until the Carmen stepped back again. “Ah, well,” She raised a hand up to the back of her neck in a sheepish manner. “I wasn’t too certain I would be able to make it back to see you either. But… I’m really happy I could make it, and to be able to see you again too.”

Hearing a sigh, she turned to face Criston again and waited until his announcement ended. She looked a little troubled as the white-haired lad was approached by others wanting their questions answered, her own having long been forgotten since they joined up with Carmen. ”Um… Have you been keeping in contact with any of the others?” She asked, looking to Carmen. ”Like… Well, just everyone in general…” Apparently the years hadn’t taught her to be more smooth with her words. There was one specific person she wanted to ask about, but after so many years of being out of touch with everyone she knew at the academy she couldn’t bring herself to show such blatant favouritism.

((I'll be moving onto the next day in my next post! ^^;))
CLICK!!

Pressing the button, she took a shot of everyone currently at the inn. Kathy had just started to roll the film to the next window, preparing to take at least one more photo out of habit, when someone called out her name. Barely having enough time to see Criston run up to her, he suddenly caught her by surprise with a hug. "E-Eh? Ah, yeah, I'm fine." She stammered out. Managing to find a proper reply despite how surprised she was by the friendly greeting. The possibility that they would welcome her back hadn't been entirely lost on her, but...

At any rate, she was delighted to receive such a warm welcome and almost wanted to jump for joy. Literally. But following her gaze down to his hair, Criston managed to get her to focus on a different topic of conversation before drew more attention to them both. The second time she managed to hug him back, laughing when he continued to speak without a long enough pause for her to respond back. Then hearing the familiar names, her eyes opened wide as she stared back at him in confusion.

"Criston, wait!" Grabbing onto his sleeve, she quickly followed after him and asked, "You mean you don't know how the two of them are? They didn't stay with you and Maria?" Kathy had no idea what to make of this new piece of information. Actually, she'd been hoping to ask Criston about their whereabouts and ask how they were doing. Not the other way around.

Drawing near Carmen and a girl with black hair tied up in a ponytail, she gave them a sheepish wave in greeting. "Hey." She glanced back and forth between them, before facing the unfamiliar girl and adding, "I'm Kather- I mean, Kathy. Though Carmen probably knows that already. It's nice to meet you." Turning to Carmen, she hesitated for a moment. "H-How have you been?" She asked, smiling broadly despite the butterflies in her stomach. As she waited for the skylark to respond, she noticed a young man with a rather stoic-looking expression put a hand on Criston's shoulder before walking right on by. "Oh, as popular as ever I see." She thought aloud.
Kathy raised a hand up to the door as if to knock, but managed to catch herself at the last minute. 'It's an inn, not someone's room.' She reminded herself. Still, it felt oddly inadequate for her to simply stroll in to join with the group that was undoubtedly gathering just beyond the doors. She wondered if bringing a gift would have made things less awkward. Like a cake, or a box of muffins to share. Or it could have drawn less-than-necessary attention to herself... In short, there was probably nothing she could do to ease the feeling of stress rising up inside of her other than to simply walk right in and get it over with.

So she did just that.

Giving herself a few slaps on the cheeks, she put a faint smile on her face and entered the building. Her eyes scanned the crowd, taking in quite a bit of detail at once. Much too her surprise, she saw more unfamiliar faces than ones she knew. But the biggest surprise for her was what she felt: relieved. Rather than guilt or the nervousness that had been gnawing away at her only a split second before, she was incredibly relieved and happy to see her friends alive and well (as far as she could tell at any rate).

Carmen was, as always, a sight for sore eyes and easier to spot than most. And... Was that really Criston beside her? She was pretty sure that his hair was as long as hers now. She stepped away from the door to prevent herself from becoming a potential traffic hazard. Sticking close to the wall, she stayed out of the way as she continued to scan the various faces there.

The wide grin that had been making its way onto her face faded a notch. Surely this couldn't be everyone? There were so many others that she had expected to see there. Optimistically hoping that they were still waiting for others to arrive, she raised a camera up to take a picture of the gathering in front of her. Not the one she actually used for her trade. It was just a cheap disposable camera she had purchased along the way just for the occasion. Everything seemed to be going peacefully so far, but if this crowd was anything like the one back in Athalia... She didn't think the scene in front of her would remain so for much longer.
