Empire of Mille-Sessau

Kingdom of Mille, Capital of Kormont

The harsh Soroyan winds were not put ill at ease by the Millean hearth, but King Allen Droulez of Mille cared little for the chill that ran along his veins. Instead, it was the wild ideas of General of the Army Staff Clement Sacrez and Sessauan Prime Minister Remy Bruneau that heated his hands. The two men twaddled behind him, musing to each other in that sloppy Sessauan that perpetuated itself in the north. King Droulez stifled a choking cough, cupping his mouth with jewel encrusted fingers.

"Mon roi?" Minister Bruneau asked, setting his cup on the table and approaching.

"It's fine," the Millean King huffed between lungs of air. "Just that damned draft."

General Sacrez quickly shut the window, shutting out the harsh Western winds. Turning back to the King and foreign minister, he tugged at his long bushy beard and quickly changed the subject. "It is not unfeasible, my king. Though I wish to see it reach the ears of the counsel of the Sessauan Throne."

"The young Emperor Millot has great ambitions but little to add when it comes to counsel," King Droulez added. "He wishes the expansion of the empire at any expense."

"More important I think is the Sociatatem issue," Minister Bruneau said, swiping his cup from the table and draining it's continents. King Droulez moved to the window, peering idly out to the sleeping city. Even in his old age, he had not foreseen a Millean assimilation within his life time. Yesterday he fought to keep his sovereignty, and now he fought to expand it. "The Etellians are weak. They are a lazy bunch."

The Palace of the King of Mille, 1905

General Sacrez tapped at his chest and motioned to the nearby serving girl for a refill. "It's not the damnable Etellians I worry about. They sit in hand with the Kalpians, fiercely militant." Sacrez's words trailed off as the girl filled his glass to the brim.

"Are the Kalpians so fierce? They seem more inclined to shoot one another as much as they would shoot another," Minister Bruneau said, his lips curling into a wild smile. "King I implore you, back the Emperor and we will expand the empire two fold!"

"And what will that bring to Mille, decrepit and weak in the south, to expand the Sessauan land to the north?"

"To be noted I think, the flat plains of Etellia, easily defended!" General Sacrez added, the remnants of wine dribbling down the corners of his cheek.

"Prestige. Trade. Living space. Where the Sessauans leave, the Milleans can inhabit. Sign your consent and you will walk hand in hand with the emperor into a new age of greatness." The Minister held the pen out, but in the glimmering light of the roaring fire it seemed more a sword. Tomorrow was January 2nd, 1905. It was to be his 72nd birthday and 50th year as the King of Mille. There would be few more opportunities for greatness.

His signature hadn't looked so precise in decades.

The World, circa 1904

SEPTEMBER to DECEMBER

SEPTEMBER

September 1st: The governments of both Empire of Zellonia and Empire of Sumaya disregard the Treaty of Winterhold to continue fighting. Sporadic gunfire in the previously established demilitarized zone begins with light artillery bombardments from both sides.

September 2nd: The Anvegadian submarine U-01 leaves Winterhold in the early hours of the morning and set sail toward Faresia.

September 4th: A major factory complex completes production in the Kalpian Republic. It begins hiring new employees and is expected to start operations within the month.

September 5th: A group of Sumayan submarines leave their pens at Davao and Suma to head northeast.

September 7th: The Grand Railroad in the Empire of Anvegad finishes. The first fully connected railroad in the world, it is a model for other nations in the world, and the citizens of Anvegad see their years of hard work paying off. A citizen can now take a train from Windel in the south all the way to Summerwall in the north in about 12 hours, a feat that would take days in an automobile or on carriage.

September 8th: An armaments factory opens in Evanston, Zellonia. This factory begins hiring workers and will begin operating next month.

September 9th: The Sumayan 9th Army (150,000 Regulars, 150 L Model 2's) under Batari Gunter starts it's advance. The Zellonian Colonial Army does not offer resistance, falling back along the roads.

Advance of Gunter's 9th Army, September 1st-9th, 1904

September 10th: Honneria denounces the Kingdom of Soroya. "While Survaek steals our land, the Sociatatem steal our pride!". In retaliation, Honneria requests a Defensive Alliance with the Empire of Zellonia. The Soroyan Foreign Minister is expelled from Honneria and it's embassy closed.

September 12th: The Khernikovian Empire signs the Declaration of World Renewal, joining the Imperial Restoration.

September 13th: The ZRS Newton, while patrolling in the East Zellonian Sea is struck by a torpedo from the RSN Suma, at 11:51. By 13:01 the ZRS Sea Gord, another Zellonian cruiser in the area approaches, but does not begin rescue operations for fear of the Sumayan submarine still being in the area. Rescue operations do not begin until 18:59. 71 Zellonian sailors perish and the ZRS Newton is lost.

Path of the ZRS Newton (CL), the day it was sunk, September 13th, 1904

September 14th: A minor industrial factory opens in Empire of Anvegad. This factory starts production immediately, with the Department of Labor assigning workers from the region to work.

September 15th: Admiral Louren Nijerees, put in charge of the Soroyan First Transport Fleet, makes the first grievous mistake of the war by ordering the fleet together. While they do escort several vessels at a time, the majority of escort ships often depart for Faresia without any escort at all.

Between 08:53 and 11:19, the Anvegadian submarine U-01 sank the Weinreich, The Berg, and The Mirre, a total tonnage of 385,000.

September 16th: The Northern Army Group (175,000 Regulars, 5,000 Professionals, 37 Type 85 Battalion Guns) commanded by Major General Lang Shao-Ren of Xian moves north into Basai territory. Initially ordered to move along whatever roads were available, the troops were distressed to find that Basai was almost entirely rural, without any tangible roads in sight. This decreased morale, but General Shao-Ren ordered his men on through the rural territories north on it's way too Sagon, the besieged capital of Basai.

September 18th: Blueprints from Sikea, Soroya to the frigid north of Kienne, Aontas is intercepted by unknown agents. The blueprints are not recovered.

September 19th: The Grand Survaek Empire finishes a Trade Agreement with the Imperial Restoration member the Kingdom of Sorena.

September 20th: 40,000 Regulars finish their training and join the Empire of Sumaya.

September 22nd: The Zellonian submarine ZRS Sea Death successfully identifies over fifteen enemy warships loitering in the Bay of Suma. After eight hours, the submarine leaves station to report back to Sucre. Submarines take shifts watching the enemy fleet, which seems satisfied not leaving the bay.

September 24th-29th: The Northern Army Group of Xian meets the Yamaranese 12th Army (275,000 Regulars, 9 Type-86 Cannons) just outside the Basai town of La Xuyên. under Lieutenant General Sato Sawajiro. The Battle of La Xuyên lasted five days.

Xian Major General Shao-Ren ordered to find the enemy in a Decisive Battle, committed the majority of his soldiers to battle here, benefiting mostly by the Shogunate's lack of firepower here. The battle was a deliberate bloodletting, with General Shao-Ren of Xian and General Sawajiro being men of the defensive end of the battle, not the offensive. On September 24th, General Shao-Ren ordered three regiments up the right, intending to drive the Yamaranese line back. Of the 9,000 Xian troops that took part in the battle, only 3,500 survived after being repulsed.

The intended offensive on September 26th after a day of inactivity on the 25th was held back by heavy rains and probing artillery barrages. The inexperienced Xian Army, bringing only an additional 5,000 Beishan Type 95 rifles, were dismayed to learn that after heavy artillery bombardment and discouraging rain that 12,000 rifles had been rendered inoperable, and thus 7,000 fit soldiers were without a weapon.

On dawn of September 27th the Yamaranese launched an offensive, throwing 20,000 men against the Xian center. Eight hours of repeated charges, led by whistle blowing lieutenants on the sloping Basai plains just miles south of the town of La Xuyên turned much of the countryside into a pockmarked war zone. "They are breaking through, we are undone!" One sergeant famously yelled, but it wasn't to be so. When the day was done, the Yamaranese Pocket threatened the Xian line for only three hours until fierce close quarters fighting saw the Yamaranese charge peter out.

Battle of La Xuyên (Stalemate)
CASUALTIES
-- Xian: 14,642 (26,642 rifles lost)
-- Yamarano Shogunate: 22,853 (27,523 rifles lost)

September 30th: The Soroyan First Battle Fleet makes contact on the horizon several hundred miles west of Faresia with an Anvegadian Fleet. With a pre-dreadnought, armored cruiser, light cruiser and six destroyers, it was significantly more powerful tan the Anvegadian Second Fleet, comprised of only a single pre-dreadnought, heavy cruiser and a destroyer that was misidentified as a light cruiser.

The Soroyan First Battle Fleet, with explicit instructions to attack straggling ships, the fleet was toward back south, headed around the coast and made port at Flulin.

OCTOBER

October 1st: After a month of renewed hostilities, the Empire of Sumaya has captured over half of Zellonian Sarelia with less than a 1,000 casualties. Batari Gunter's 9th Army has been slowed to a crawl in the west. Without infrastructure or roads, the Sarelian jungle, not Zellonian soldiers, is the reason for the slow progress.

Sumayan intelligence reveals that the Zellonians have fled all the way west to the regional capital of Memoth. Zellonian colonials, realizing they were abandoned, began to welcome the Sumayans with hot tea and free tobacco. Sumayan soldiers find the diamond minds west of Hollan abandoned.

Progress of Gunter's 9th Army, October 1st, 1904

October 2nd: The Kingdom of Soroya finishes a production order of 20,000 Bursk Mark IV rifles. They are distributed to the soldiers immediately.

October 3rd: 50,000 Vulcaine II Mark II's finish production in the Deltoran Republic.

October 4th: Without numerical superiority, the Xian-Yamaranese Front between Xian settles into a silent deadlock. Night patrols become common, and even when enemy patrols came across one another, they often simply let one another pass. Both Faresians, only great attacking charges would be countered aggressively.

October 5th: The Grand Survaek Empire finishes colonizing the wild desert region of Zaba. Rich in aluminum, tungsten and oil, the Empire forces a great many to migrate their families to the region so that it may begin exporting the resources there to the great inlands of the Empire.

Survaekom citizens migrating to Zaba, circa 1904

October 8th: The Anvegadian submarine U-01 sinks the Soroyan merchant ship, Turge, carrying 56,000 tonnes of ammunition and food to Soroyan ships.

October 9th: The Empire of Anvegad finishes a production run of 1,000 HVL-02 machine guns.

October 10th-14th: Operation Sideswipe; a Zellonian invasion of southern Sumaya, begins. The Zellonian 6th Fleet under command of Admiral Tavington set sail from Sucre and landed at Memoth, which was now only being defended by 5,000 Zellonians and 60 Torran-85 light guns to defend it.

The Zellonian 6th Fleet was comprised of the light cruiser ZRS Quaid, which was the flagship of Admiral Tavington, and the eight destroyers Revenge, Deathhead, Velius, Zell's Ambitions, Virtue, Famine, Crossroad and Home. Attached to the 6th Fleet were eight transport barges loaded with 35,000 Zellonian Regulars and 110 Torran-85's.

The Fleet set sail from Memoth and headed south, but encountered no resistance from the Sumayan Navy. The Quaid and the destroyers Revenge, Famine and Crossroad bombarded the city of Davao for seven hours, killing several hundred civilians and soldiers. The city was defended by only 5,000 Sumayans and 2 L Model 2 cannons, both of which were destroyed in the bombardment.

Several miles west, the Zellonians began to disembark, and the much smaller Sumayan Army Garrison was powerless to stop it. 35,000 Zellonians successfully disembarked, and by nightfall the Zellonian 6th Fleet had pulled back from Davao to port at Memoth. The Battle of Davao was bloodless, lasting only fourteen hours on the 13th and into the morning of the 14th. The Sumayan garrison, heavily outnumbered and outgunned, surrendered.

Battle of Davao (1904)
CASUALTIES
Sumayan Empire: 1,095 men (3,905 prisoners of war). 5,000 rifles. 2 L Model 2 Light Artillery.
Zellonian Empire: 1,653 men (1,761 Mannicher/85 Rifles)

October 15th: The Crozier Expedition returns to Deltora. The Makitori Islands are revealed to be rich in precious stones, and on it's eastern islands to have plentiful iron ore deposits within it's lone mountain range.

October 16th: The Soroyan submarine SRF Merel, sinks the destroyer ANV Warhammer in the Survaekom Inland Sea.

October 17th: The Zellonians at Davao fortify their positions. Without further orders from Zellonian High Command, they are left to simply entrench and hope for reinforcements.

October 18th: After appointing General Reiner Engelhardt as their new Chief of the Army, the Kalpian Republic immediately ordered new prototypes for Heavy Artillery (1905) as well as Trench Warfare (1905).

October 19th: The Anvegadian Home Fleet scores the Great False Victory, a great embarrassment to the Soroyan Second Battle Fleet. The fleet, sailing east from Fort Talip was intercepted by the Anvegadian Home Fleet, sailing south from Wendel.

The Anvegadian Home Fleet was composed of only a light cruiser and a pair of destroyers, but with explicit orders to attack single or unprotected vessels, the Soroyan Second Battle Fleet, with two pre-dreadnoughts, a pair of cruisers and two destroyers, turned back west and headed for Fort Talip. The Soroyans it seemed, were not interested in pitched battles.

October 21st: Zello-Kalpian Colonial Crisis: Zellonians along the eastern shores and Kalpians cutting their way along the heavy jungles in the west have finally met at an impassé. While neither nation had a formal claim to the area, neither nation obviously intended to release the area, rich in both steel and rare materials.

Both Kalpia and Zell must choose how they stand on the issue:
* [Press the Issue]: This claim is ours! We will not relinquish our claim and will back it up militarily, if it comes to it.

* [Split the Claim]: There is plenty of land to be had, and it can be split without bloodshed. If they press the claim however when we suggest splitting it, we may lose our spot.

* [Back Down]: We will not go to war over resources in a far away land. If we back out and they attempt to press the issue however, we will look much better in the eyes of the international community.

October 23rd: The Sumayan submarine RNS EXpat sinks the Zellonian freighter Milo in the Vicarri Sea.

NOVEMBER

November 1st: The first troops from the Anvegad Empire arrive. The Faresian Expeditionary Force (70,000 Professionals, 20,000 Sirilt/99 Rifles, 50,000 Armory Rifles, 50 Light Artillery, 50 Heavy Artillery) under command of General Viktor Ankudinov. They begin entrenching at the border between Soroya and Anvegad, placing 1,000 of the HVL-02 machine guns.

November 2nd: The Kingdom of Aontas finishes colonizing it's first overseas territory. The Feratsu Islands, An abundance of rare stones are discovered on the island. The Protectorate of Feratsu establishes it's capital at Dumaguete.

Emperor of Aontas?
With the recent colonization of Feratsu, and by extension, the 55,000 Feratsian natives on the island, several minor politicians close to King Matthias are egging him on to accept a Coronation as Aontan Emperor. The event, while changing little about the government would give Aontas some much needed prestige in a year where it's ideological allies are close to falling apart.

* [Crown Him Emperor Matthias Frederik of the Empire of Aontas, King of Feratsu]: Aontas' has taken a step into the greater world by expanding it's territories into Faresia. King Matthias, now an Emperor, stands with no equals. Our population will rejoice and praise his lineage.

* [Nothing Has Changed]: Matthias is a King, and will remain so. Instead we will dedicate our time to formulating a policy of education as well as development plans for the Feratsians. This education plan will help normalize their culture, allowing for us to employ a stronger colonial garrison and possibly better income from the colony in the future.

November 3rd: The troops under General Jan-Bart Van Heun of the Soroyan Colonial Force begin entrenching as well. With only 20,000 Regulars, 500 machine guns and 50 Light Artillery, they are much less suited for defensive combat. Without a decisive naval battle, the troops under General Jan-Bart Van Heun prepare against the Anvegadian Expeditionary Force.

November 4th-26th: Batari Gunter's Sumayan 9th Army reaches the city of Memoth, New Zellonia. Defended by a meager garrison of 5,000 soldiers and 60 Torran-85 cannons, the Siege of Memoth doesn't last. The Zellonian 6th Fleet left port and bombarded the shores, but were sufficiently ran out of ammunition and had to return to Sucre after only an hour.

Gunter ordered the town bombarded, and from November 5th to the 12th, the Sumayan artillery guns ran hot, tearing into the town. Civilians were the primary casualties, with Zellonians hunkering in hastily dug foxholes and trenches. On the morning of the 12th, after a sustained barrage, the Sumayans charged, bayonets fixed. The Zellonians however, surrendered after little fighting. Governor of New Zellonia, Richard Nagel, signs the unconditional surrender, as the Zellonian Colonial Command staff had been killed during the fighting.

Siege of Memoth (1904)
CASUALTIES
Sumayan Empire: 3,112 men (3,112 rifles, 13 L Model 2 Light Artillery).
Zellonian Empire: 994 men (4,006 prisoners of war, 60 Torran-85 Light Artillery)

November 28th: The Republic of Deltora finishes colonizing the untamed Makitori Islands. With a native population of over 100,000, it is rich in gold and iron ore and will make a fine addition to the Republic's colonies.

November 29th: The Republic of Deltora finishes research on the Madsen machine gun. Easily broken down into two components, with a water cooled barrel, it is the most advanced machine gun in the world. It will be available for mass production next year.

November 30th: After initially anticipating an attack, the Anvegadians go on the offensive. 10,000 Professionals of the 1st Avenhold Guards and 10,000 men of the 9th Summerwall advanced piece meal under constant barrage's from batteries of Prince Ozo’s Artillery Regiment.

Soroyan machine gun position, Soroyo-Anvegadian War, Faresia, 1904

Ordered only to conduct light skirmishing or raids on enemy positions, General Viktor Ankudinov of the Anvegadian Expeditionary Forces bombarded the enemy for hours, advanced under withering machine gun fire them promptly retreated. While both sides referred to it as the Battle of the Middle, neither side lost more than 75 men and thus the battle was written off.

Soldiers on both sides dug trenches. The guns grew quietly. The sun watched over men with disinterest and the flies crept across the flesh of those unfortunate enough have crossed the eye of a machine gunner or in the range of an exploding artillery shell.

DECEMBER

December 2nd: The Kynatsu Island chain is successfully colonized by the Kalpian Republic. The population there is around 12,000, but with very prominent diamond mines in the thing Kynatsian jungles, Kalpian industry is expected to infest the island within a few years.

December 7th: A minor machine parts factory opens in Anvegad. This factory begins hiring workers and will begin operating next month.

December 31st: The Kingdom of Aontas finishes developing it's own hand grenade, the Skaftgranat MK I. It will begin production immediately.

The World, circa 1904

MAY to AUGUST

MAY

May 2nd: A major factory finishes construction in the Chatara province of the Kingdom of Aontas. It begins hiring workers and expects to begin operations in the fall.

May 5th: Soroyan Colonial Crisis: Recent Survaekom documentation suggests that both Faresian colonies of Soroya should belong, de jure, to the Xian Republic. There are even reports by Survaekom archivists that older Soroyan treaties with the Yong Dynasty may have stipulated that the territories be temporarily leased to the Varians, not annexed outright, and that these leases have expired. The Xian Republic is the clear lawful successor to the Yong Dynasty for the purposes of international law, and therefore it has an inviolable right to the return of one of these foreign-occpied territories in full, while the nation of Nakashisaki has a claim on the other.

While Nakashisaki has requested the immediate return of the Soroyan territory, Xian's response is uncertain.

Soroyan Colonial Crisis (1904)
The Soroya's have two separate decisions to make: one regarding Soroyan Faresia based in Kedris and one regarding Soroyan Faresia based in Flulin.

Fate of Soroyan Faresia (Kedris)
* [Lease the Colonies Again]: We will pay the Nakashisaki government for another 100 years on the lease, enabling us to retain our colonial holdings. The Nakashisaki governments request $55,000,000,000 be paid for the lease to be renewed.

* [We Will Hold the Colonies at All Cost]: Paying for land that has belonged to Soroya for 100 years is ridiculous. If Nakashisaki wants the land, they can come and take it! Nakashisaki will not respond kindly.

* [Return the Colony]: The lease, being up, will be rightfully returned to Nakashisaki. This will prove to be a great blow to our prestige, but this will avoid both great financial cost and war. This will decrease tension in the world by 8%.

Fate of Soroyan Faesia (Xian)

* [Negotiate with Xian]: The Xianese have not yet given their monetary offer to continue leasing the Flulin territory. Our delegates are currently en route to Beiqling to negotiate the terms of renewing the lease.

* [The Land Belongs to Us]: There will be no negotiations. The colony belongs to us, and ancient treaties have no authority over us.

* [Return the Land]: The Xian can forego the negotiations. We will return the land in exchange for a Defensive Alliance with them, strengthening autonomy in Faresia and our political ties in the region. This will decrease tension in the world by 10%.

May 9th: The Winterhold Conference ends with the Treaty of Winterhold (1904). The stipulations are the following.

Sarelian Archipelago, circa 1904

May 9: The Army of Mille-Sessau conscripts 120,000 young men into military service, citing concerns over the security of its borders. However, without rifles to equip them with, the Army designates the hastily-trained soldiers as reservists.

May 15th: The Empire of Anvegad finishes construction on a minor factory in the Emphyra province and is expected to be open next year.

May 19th: Erwin Osgood is killed while experimenting with his Flyer in the Kingdom of Aontas.

May 22nd: The Tarikhate of Serranthia colonizes the island of of Kalafas.

May 25th: The Kingdom of Soroya finishes the HNS Vulture, a Pre-Dreadnought that was ordered in 1902. With war against the Yamarano Shogunate and the Anvegad Empire set upon the nation, several admirals have suggested seizing the vessel instead of letting it sail for Honnerian waters.

The Pre-Dreadnought Question
* [Seize the Vessel]: War is upon us and every ship is required, especially a pre-dreadnought. We built her, and she's ours. We will pay Honneria back for her purchase when we can. Honneria, however, may be upset.

* [Send Her to Honneria]: Honneria paid for her, and she is theirs. The ship must be sent on it's way.

JUNE

June 3rd: Three submarines laid down earlier in the year, the Phila,, Suma, and Expat are finished by the Empire of Sumaya.

June 7th: The Empire of Sumaya finishes preliminary infrastructure efforts in colonizing the Mataku Islands and the first city is established there, the colonial capital of Tabu.

June 19th: An order of 1,000 Cruska Guns finishes it's production run in the Kingdom of Soroya.

June 24th: The Kalpian Republic's delegation to Colonel Visguth walked the line, and it was exactly what he didn't want to hear. Being told simply what they knew he wanted to hear turned Visguth sour. He ordered the Glorious Kalpia movement a farce, and denounced the Kalpian President as a boot licker to the Sociatatem. In a plea to the Kalpian Army, Visguth asks for others to mutiny as well.

He is arrested by the Kalpian authorities.

JULY

July 1st: A submarine laid down by the Tarikhate of Serranthia is finished and available for service.

* [Appoint General Reiner Engelhardt]: Age 70, Engelhardt is a professional and 40 year veteran in the Kalpian Army. He is pro Imperial Restoration and believes that Kalpia must expand if she is to survive in the 20th century. (Receive 2 Free Random Army Tech Upgrade and 30,000 Professional Troops as free troops.)

January 2nd: Approximately 7,000 soldiers of the Empire of Zellonia are immediately ordered from their posts in Hollan, New Zellonia toward the Sumayan border. Without preparation or mobilization, the soldiers are barely able to finish their breakfast before they head down the road toward the border. A declaration of war reaches the Sumayan Empire just hours before.

January 4th: The Republic of Haegye sends out a request to purchase 20,000 rifles from any nation that will sell them. They will pay $5,000,000,000 for them, so long as they can be shipped across the Vicarri Sea, since the Haegyean Navy was a brown water fleet.

January 7th: The Grand Survaek Empire finalizes a trade agreement with the Khernikovian Empire.

January 8th-21st: What begins as minor shoot outs along the entire front turns into a meatgrinder just west of the town of Rappang. The Zellonians pulled their light artillery up and battered Sumayan positions for three days before assaulting through the heavily foliage. The Battle of Rappang lasted 13 days. The Zellonian vanguard was beaten back, but they were far from beaten.

While they would initially make good time, the inclusion of the pre-dreadnought SRF Reijmink, who could only make 16 knots, slows them down significantly, adding several days to their arrival time.

February 21st: 20,000 regulars of the Sumayan Army finishes training.

February 22nd: The Second Battle of Sagoon starts, with 75,000 fresh Yamaranese Shogunate troops attacking 55,000 troops of Basai. Fighting for their families and lives, Basainese troops fight and die in their own capital.

APRIL

April 1st: An attempt to colonize the western shores of Faresia by Royal Soroyan Expeditionary Corps goes awry when patrolling Yamaranese Navy destroyers Kiko and Sato stop the ships long before they can disembark. Boarding and realizing the Soroyan's purpose. They intern the sailors and tow the ships back north. The Soroyans lose over $30,000,000,000 in potential colonial assets.

April 3rd: The Kingdom of Soroya begins construction of railroads in the territories of Ekon and Ayas. They are expected to be finished sometime in 1906.

April 5th: Anvegado-Soroyan Colonial Crisis: While the Soroyans had met with sour luck along the northern Faresian shores, their attempts to colonize the southern shores met with a political backhand from the Empire of Anvegad. While neither nation had a formal claim to the area, neither nation obviously intended to release the area, rich in both steel and rare materials.

Both Anvegad and Soroya must choose how they stand on the issue:
* [Press the Issue]: This claim is ours! We will not relinquish our claim and will back it up militarily, if it comes to it.

* [Split the Claim]: There is plenty of land to be had, and it can be split without bloodshed. If they press the claim however when we suggest splitting it, we may lose our spot.

* [Back Down]: We will not go to war over resources in a far away land. If we back out and they attempt to press the issue however, we will look much better in the eyes of the international community.

April 19th: The Soroyan Second Fleet arrives in Flulin with 30,000 Bursk MK IV Rifles, 1,000 Cruska Machine Guns and 50 light artillery. Without a sizable port however in the Kedris region, they have no way to unload the equipment safely. Without specific orders, the Second Fleet sails up the Xian Channel and begins unloading on the Eastern Shores of Kedris.

April 21st: The Sumayan Empire finalizes a Defensive Alliance with the Empire of Anvegad.

April 28th: The Kalpian Republic calls a temporary halt to the fighting in the Zello-Sumayan War to host a peace conference. Zellonian and Sumayan delegates were summoned to Winterhold in Anvegadian Sarelia. Anvegadian and Soroyan delegates, having territory in the region, were also present.

Conference of Winterhold (1904)
A member of the Sociatatem, the Kalpian Republic, has called a halt to the fighting in search of a peaceful resolution. The assembled delegates may vote on one of the three possible solutions. (Each Delegate has 3 Votes. The first vote is worth 3 Points. The second vote is worth 2 Points. The third point is worth 1 point. The top 3 Issues will be put into effect. All 3 Delegates get 3 votes and may vote once per issue. If either Sumaya or Zellonia disregards the treaty, then the Delegate nations will gain a CB on them.)
DELEGATES: Soroya, Anvegad, Kalpia.

* [Establish a Demilitarized Region]: The war must be ended and a demilitarized zone must be established between the two nations. With an establishment of a demilitarized region under the autonomy and control of the delegates for a minimum of 24 months, neither of the involved militant nations may enter this region until the allotted time is up.

* [Conduct an Investigation]: Due to high tensions in the region and allegations that both sides caused the conflict. Our own investigation must be allowed to be conducted to find who is truly responsible for the aggression in the region.

* [Disarmament of Zellonia]: The Empire of Zellonia must disarm it's colony and may be allowed to have no more than 10,000 soldiers there at any time and no more than 1 Armored Cruiser and a total of 5 ships at any time.

* [Disarmament of Sumaya]: The Empire of Sumaya must immediately disarm it's army to half it's current strength and it's aggressive policies must be immediately curbed.

* [Recognize Sumaya's Claim]: We recognize Sumaya's claim to the island. A war for conquest on this island is not considered against the ideals of the Status Quo. The war may be continued.

* [Recognize Zellonia's Claim]: We recognize Zellonia's claim to the island. A war for conquest on this island is not considered against the ideals of the Status Quo. The war may be continued.

As the pre-eminent military nation in all of Varius, their leader, a Colonel Vasguth sends a letter to the Kalpian President, stating: "The strong arm of the Kalpian Army has been jailed in a cell of appeasement, and you are the warden."

While not inherently violent, they immediately ransacked the Erimarsh Palace and put the Mayor on house arrest. The 17th Army Garrison demands promises of Kalpian nationalism or the immediate dispersal of Kalpia's current cabinet.

KALPIAN ARMY MUTINY (1903)
-- [Listen to the Commanders's Grievances]: Invite Colonel Vasguth to Mistburn and listen to his appeal. As a service man of more than 25 years, Vasguth is a traditionalist and member of the Old Guard. Vehemently opposed to the Sociataetm, listening to the cries of a hawk may reflect poorly on our ideological allies.

-- [Disband the Garrison and Arrest the Traitors]: The Old Ways have gone. We have pledged ourselves to the Sociatatem. Colonel Vasguth and his men are traitors to the state. They will be arrested, tried and executed for their attempted.

-- [Send a Delegation to Negotiate]: To act too hastily may end in ruin. We must act cautiously here. A delegation of several politicians and loyal army officers may get Colonel Vasguth to stand down without bloodshed.

Captured Zellonian Dissidents
-- Try and Execute Them: In accordance with our law, these vigilantes will be tried, convicted and sentenced to death by our choice. The Zellonians will know that violence will be met with violence.

-- Extradite them to Zellonian Sarelia: As civilized men, we expect the Zellonians to punish their own. We will negotiate the transfer of these men back to Zellonian authorities in Hollan and expect that they be punished for crossing into Sumayan territory and killing our citizens.

-- Release Them: Needless lives have been lost on both sides of this petty conflict. Their blood lust has been sated, and these men will return to Zellonia, and Sumaya will face no further criticism.

November 24th: 22,000 Yamaranese troops move against the Basai 12th Army north of Sagoon, Basai and begin the Battle of Sagoon

August 27th: The Deltoran Republic officially signs the Treaty of Sikea (1901), becoming the fifth nation to make a pledge of democracy, freedom and self-determination to the world by joining the Sociatatem.

August 29th: News of the expansion of the Sociatatem is lessened when King Kazimierz Piast IV of the Sorenan Kingdom forces the resignation of Prime Minister Prime Minister Stanisław Mendelson. Though considered to have handled the Sorenan Crisis well, a growing group of militants in the government, led by King Kazimierz were disappointed that Sorena did not press further claims with Survaekom support.

SEPTEMBER

September 1st: The Empire of Anvegad finishes a trade agreement with the Faresian Yamarano Shogunate. A heavily militant nation based on the Warrior Code of Fusan, the Yamaranese appreciate the opportunity to begin trading with a Varian nation.

MAY

May 1st: The Sorenan Conference ends, though much to the chagrin of several that attended. Most nations, in favor of maintaining a conflict that seemed inevitable, voted to return the land to the Sorenans where it rightfully belonged. Aontas Foreign Minister Jacob Halsley attempted to negotiate an arrangement that better suited the Kalpian Republic but was rebuffed by the Soroyan and Survaek ministers who wished for a quicker, though less efficient resolution.

The land was ultimately returned to Sorena, with the Kalpian Republic feeling betrayed as the conference closed. Tensions were high within the Sociatatem following the conference, but as Soroyan Prime Minister Kevin Notles made known after the conflict: "It is a victory for peace."

May 4th: A production order of 10,000 Sirilt/99 bolt-action rifles finishes in the Kalpian Republic. Still a superb rifle, it is no longer considered the best in the world; surpassed by the Deltoran Vulcain Mark II and Soroyan Bursk Mark IV rifle.

JUNE

June 4th: Even in the aftermath of the Zello-Kalpian Colonial War (1901), tensions in Zellonian Sarelia remained high. While the Kalpians had been largely pacified and only barely retained their autonomy of their Sarelian colony, Zellonia instead realized it's problems had only just begun. The Sons of Sumaya had been a group of native Sumayans seeking greater independence for decades. It was the atrocities of the Zello-Kalpian War that brought Sumaya's attention to the fold.

The Sons of Sumaya staged a rather audacious attack on the new Zellonian city of Hollan on June 4th, 1903. Using mostly stolen Kalpian Mariust/98 rifles, they attacked patrolling Zellonian columns and killed civilians at will.

June 5th: A marching Zellonian Royal Army platoon engages a group of the Sons of Sumaya in the jungles east of Hollan. Their training was superior but the inferior Zellonia breech loading rifles made scoring victories even harder. The skirmish at Holland scares the local population and puts the entire colony on edge.

June 29th: Completion of territorial control in Serranthia by the Soroyan Kingdom completes. The region between Soroyan Serranthia and Deltoran Serranthia long held the name Hamasi, an ancient Survaekom term that complimented the region on it's rough terrain. The port city of Kuli was founded on June 1st, 1903 and the first vestiges of government made itself known. An abundance of oil as well as silver deposits were found in the region proper.

JULY

July 2nd: The Zellonian Empire finishes development on it's own bolt-action rifle, the Z-95. Less sophisticated than it's contemporaries, the Zellonians are excited to be producing their own weapons now.

July 14th: A trio of factories set to churn out steel and process consumer goods finishes work in Aontas. These are the first efforts for industrialization in the regions of Chatara, Torrik and Aonthall.

July 19th: Workers in a factory in the Deltoran Republic go on strike.

July 20th: A great statue dedicated to the victory over Honneria in the quick war last year begins work in the city of Wadke by the Grand Survaek Empire.

July 27th: Research and development on handheld explosives is completed in the Grand Survaek Empire.

AUGUST

August 2nd: 10,000 men of the Kalpian Republic join the army. Professionals, they are well trained in the use of the Sirilt/99 and the FT-19 as well as all available military doctrines.

August 6th: A small factory complex in the Kalpian Republic finishes construction and will open its doors next year.

August 8th: The Kalpian Republic unveils it's new rifle, the Rudiger/13. Kalpia again proves it's mettle in military firepower with a rifle accurate to 150 yards with very little sway. Production is now available. Also unveiled is the Eckehard 7.5 cm gun, the most advanced light artillery gun in the world.

August 9th: In a rousing speech to her people in the capital of Tong, Sumayan Empress, Queen Sinta renounced the claims of the Varian powers on Sumaya and instead pledged to take back the island, by whatever means necessary.

August 11th: Another 10,000 men join the Zellonian Royal Army, but without rifles they simply join their reserve garrisons.

August 15th: The Zellonian Regulars strike back at Sumaya. They send out 7th Special Attachment Force deep into Sumayan territory, terrorizing the locals at night. The Zellonian force, about 350 in total hunt down and eradicate a Sons of Sumaya camp, killing all 700 of them in a vicious crossfire.

August 18th: Zellonian King Theodore the Second speaks in Evanston about the recent tensions in Zellonian Sarelia. "While uncivilized they may be, pacification of these miscreants is a necessary evil to bring culture and education to their lands. Should they be unwilling to submit, it will be brought to them with force."

- Resources do not stack. Instead, like budget they are simply slotted.
- Example: If you have 2 Steel Resources in your nation, every Turn you have 6 Steel Available.
- Trading Resources: You can trade Resources for other Resources, or GNP for Resource Use.
- Example: Etellia trades 1 Available Steel to Murenheidt for 1 Available Precious Metals. This requires a Trade Agreement!

THINGS YOU CAN DO:
- Convert Major Factory: A Major Factory can convert and increase one selected Resource Type that you own by 2. It will not produce GNP.
- Convert Minor Factory: A Minor Factory can convert and increase one selected Resource Type that you own by 1.
- Deficiency: If you don't have enough Steel to build a unit or building, it builds at -50% speed.

PREREQUISITES:
INDUSTRY
- Major Factory: Atop of it's GNP cost, it will now cost 5 Steel, 3 Precious Materials.
- Minor Factory: Atop of it's GNP cost, it will now cost 2 Steel, 1 Precious Materials.
- Railroads: Atop of it's GNP cost, it will now cost 3 Steel.

NAVY
-- Submarine: Atop of it's GNP cost, it will now cost 1 Steel.
-- Destroyer: Atop of it's GNP cost, it will now cost 1 Steel.
-- Light Cruiser: Atop of it's GNP cost, it will now cost 2 Steel.
-- Armored Cruiser: Atop of it's GNP cost, it will now cost 3 Steel, 3 Rare Materials.
-- Pre-Dreadnought: Atop of it's GNP cost, it will now cost 5 Steel, 5 Rare Materials.

JANUARY

January 5th: Military theorists in the Deltoran Republic finish their theory on the idea of Mass Assault. With an enemy stuck in a line of long trenches, a concentrated attack is the best way to remove them. Though costly, it is currently the only effective manner in which to uproot an enemy in their defensive positions.

January 9th: Only days after the completion of their Mass Assault doctrine, the Deltoran Military unveils it's new bolt action rifle, the Vulcaine Mark II. With a smooth bolt action system, a seven round magazine and easy to break down and clean, it's currently lauded as the most sturdy and precise rifle anywhere in the world.

January 11th: Only days after the unveiling of the Vulcaine Mark II, Soroyan military theorist Jackson Hearst and Byron Zackwell of the Soroyan Royal Engineers reveal the Bursk Rifle Mark IV. Though a later rendition than the Mark III, it maintains a five round magazine. Deltorans abroad claim the Vulcaine is superior, while Soroyans instead laud the quick firing action of the Bursk Mark IV.

January 16th: Thirty thousand men commit an oath to Volkov and the eternal Empire of Anvegad. Highly trained, they join the ranks of a previous chosen few among some of the fiercest fighting soldiers in the world.

January 21st: Fifty-one soldiers of the Kalpian Occupation Army are ambushed 12 miles south of Ladd. They are attacked and killed by members of the partisan group the Sorenan Free Army. In retaliation, General Ludwig orders a dozen houses alleged to be hiding partisans along the road. Several photographs are taken, but Ludwig--a proud member of the Kalpian Army--does not react.

FEBRUARY

February 2nd: Already having done extensive work in the field of operational military doctrine, the Soroyan Military Command finishes work on divisional commands for mass assault, allowing for greater probing attacks to find weaknesses in enemy positions before committing to the assault.

February 9th: The Kingdom of Aontas respects and upholds both international peace and security as well as natural law, and its fundamental principle of the sanctity of life. To this end, His Majesty's Government formally denounces the inhumane actions of the Grand Survaek Empire during the war with Honneria, specifically the summary execution of the so-called 'Golden Guard'. The Kingdom of Aontas demands that the Grand Survaek Empire launch a full inquiry into the incident, involving international observers, and expects adequate disciplinary action to be taken against any commanders found to have led their subordinates to commit acts contrary to the code of war. Until this inquiry is completed, the Kingdom of Aontas announces a partial embargo against the Grand Survaek Empire; no goods of any military utility may be traded by a Aontan either within or to a citizen of the Grand Survaek Empire, and imports from the Grand Survaek Empire are banned entirely.

February 19th: Lessons learned from the Survaekom Conquest of Honneria revealed great discrepancies in Survaekom battle tactics. Examinations in Honnerian defensive fighting positions revealed stunning details about the manner in which trench warfare was conducted. General Pjjokhat and Hjarkin revealed what observations they made. Survaekom trenches, although an exact replica of Honnerian trenches, get the job done all the same.

February 22nd: Funded by the state, inventor Erwin Osgood begins putting together his first flyer prototypes in Koti, Aontas.

MARCH

March 1st: Pictures of the Sorenan homes burned by the Kalpian Occupation Army reach newspapers across Varius. Articles published far and wide criticize harsh treatment of Sorenan freedom fighters.

Famous picture of the Kalpian Burning, 1903

March 2nd: A trade agreement between Murenheidt and Soroya is finalized. Goods begin the long passage around Varius and through the Rochefort Passage.

March 5th: A minor industrial steel factory is completed in the Kalpian Republic. It begins hiring workers and will open later this year.

March 15th: The Deltoran Navy finishes modernizing the 1895 destroyer TPS Defiant. Modernized, it is now in line with the TPS Vigilant, packing six 5" guns in three turrets. It joins the fleet after some preliminary weapons testing.

APRIL

April 1st: The Via Eania opens for civilian use. Running along the entire Soroyan home island, it is lauded by it's modernity. Many Soroyans on the mainland are disgruntled though, feeling left out as the home island welcomes the luxuries of the new century.

A freight locomotive of the Via Eania, 1903

April 4th: 1,000 FT-18 Mark I machine guns are finished and delivered to the Kalpian Army

April 7th: Tension comes to a head in the Sorenan Corridor. General Ludwig of the Kalpian Occupation Army effectively sniffs out a large partisan gathering in the woods, about 2 miles west of Lirjdz. A force of about 4,000 Kalpian soldiers attack a ragtag group of Sorenan men and women of about 900. Easily defeated, the women and children encamped there are lined up and executed, in line of pacification of the region.

Sorenan Prime Minister Stanisław Mendelson condemns the atrocities forced upon Sorenan's living in the corridor and mobilizes 75,000 troops on the border, just south of Djuds. "Will the world watch on as Kalpians murder our sons and rape our women?" Prime Minister Mendelson announces in a speech in the nation's capital. "The world may watch, but Sorena will act."

Delegates from Soroya, Aontas, Kalpia as members of the Sociatatem rush to the Sorenan capital Kadjus. Delegates from other nations such as Anvegad, Survaek, Zellonia and Deltora are also there.

THE SORENAN CRISIS
The issue has come to a head, and Sorenan promises war if the bloodshed doesn't stop. Delegates from the Sociatatem, the Imperial Restoration and non-aligned nations have arrived to help. If the crisis is not solved, then war may be inevitable.

Nations Must Select an Option (Sociatatem and Imperial Restoration nations have extra leeway after deliberations. Unaligned nations have 1 Vote to cast. Sociatatem and Imperial Restoration leaders may cast 2 Votes).

[Side with Kalpia]: The corridor may be home to many Sorenans, but the territory is legally Kalpian. While distasteful what Kalpia has resorted to in order to cull the partisans, unwarranted terrorism cannot be allowed to be made manifest in the world. The Kalpians must expel the Sorenan Free Army and they have our support.

[Side with Sorena]: For too long Kalpia has run a muck in the corridor, killing rightful citizens in a region that has historically belonged to the Sorenan people. Kalpia's reign of terror must be stopped, unless a full blown revolution breaks out in the region. We support Sorena's Claim on the Sorenan Corridor.

[Establish Free City of Ladd]: While neither party will be particularly happy, an independent and free city can be established. While Kalpian hegemony in the area will dissipate, it's trade profits in the region will be split evenly between Sorena and Kalpia, and it's people will be free to live in peace under the jurisdiction of both nations.

[Offer an Alternative]: There are other options. Politics are not so black and white. (Only the leader of the Sociatatem and Imperial Restoration may choose this option).

April 22nd: The military theorist Hans von Lotha in the Anvegadian Empire finishes his work on the HVL-02, a fast firing machine gun. It is applauded as being on par with the Cruska Gun as well as the Survaekom Ishui Model 11 machine gun.

April 23rd: Military theorists in Soroya finalize documents on the rather evasive ideas of Trench Warfare.

OOC MECHANICS

Naval Classes (Added 10/24/15)
In the stead of singular, non-classified naval vessels, ship classes will now be added. When you wish to build new ships, simply use this form.

Ship Type: (Submarine, Destroyer, Light Cruiser, Armored Cruiser, Pre-Dreadnought)
Ship Class: (You name your ship classes. For example, Fubuki-class, Ticonderoga-class, etc)
Ship Stats: (Built to specification of the year they're ordered. List here)
Order Amount: For every amount you order, two things occur: The subsequent cost decreases, the speed of construction increases.
Ship Names: (Names of the Ships to be Completed)
Discount:
* 1 Ship: No discount.
* 2 Ships: 10% Discount / 2 Months off Construction Time
* 3 Ships: 20% Discount / 3 Months off Construction Time
* 4 Ships: 25% Discount / 5 Months off Construction Time
* 5 Ships: 30% Discount / 6 Months off Construction Time
Build Status:
* Serial: Build one after the other at the same shipyard.
* Parallel: Build as many at one time as possible, shipyards permitting.

EXAMPLE:

Ship Type: Light Cruiser
Ship Class: Dawson-class
Ship Stats: Guns 1899 | Armor 1899 | Engine 1900 | Reliability 1895
Order Amount: 3
Ship Names: Sully, Myker, Salvo
Discount:
* 3 Ships: 20% Discount / 3 Months off Construction Time
Build Status:
* Serial: Build one after the other at the same shipyard.

3 Light Cruisers would normally cost $12,000,000,000. Now it only costs $9,000,000,000 and each ship will finish 3 months faster!

JUNE

June 17th: The Kingdom of Aontas begins construction of an immense statue, dedicated to King Matthias. So large and eminent is the statue that even in it's beginning stages, artisans and observers from as far as Anvegad and Deltora journey to see the beginning of such a work. It is expected to be finished at the beginning of next year.

June 21st: Heavy dust storms delay General Hjarkin and his Second Army from being able to depart from the Honnerian city of Keyvah. They instead rest and relax for a few days. Similar dust storms further north turn the Survo-Honnerian front to a standstill. Men huddle in holes and trenches while the storms whip about incessantly. The fighting lulls.

June 28th: Inventor and theorist Erwin Osgood in the Kingdom of Aontas presents his ideas on potential lighter than air travel and presents them to a council of the Aontan Military High command for potential consideration.

JULY

July 1st: The Survaek submarine Akir has it's engine repaired and sets sail from Foedinei.

July 4th: The Survaek First Fleet bombards Honnerian positions just west of the colonial capital of Wadke. 114 Honnerians are killed.

July 16th: Twelve men of the Kalpian Occupation Army in the Sorenan Corridor are killed while on patrol. Soldiers that discover their remains believe that they were in an ambush. 40,000 strong, the KOA cracks down on travelers through Sorena and Kalpia, inspecting their papers with more scrutiny.

AUGUST

August 5th: The Survaek submarine Akir sinks the Honnerian destroyer Ostrich, 185 miles northeast of New Byrnia.

August 9th: Dust storms dissipating, General Hjarkin and his Second Army perform a days worth of exercises and marching before heading north to besiege Wadke from the south. The army heads north, while the Survaekom First Army continues it's long and dutiful siege of Wadke in the north.

August 10th: General Hjarkin receives orders from the Emperor of Survaek to resist further attacks and instead starve the enemy out.

August 11th-21st: The First Army under General Nej Hjarkin orders his men to general stations. Blockaded, the Honnerians at Wadje wouldn't be able to last very much longer. It was much to the detriment however that General Hjarkin was an immediately impatient man. He ordered on the 11th an assault along the Honnerian defensive line, spending much of the morning battering their position with 4.7-Inch Shaeyer Model cannons. The Battle of Kalas was a short and bloody affair that lasted the 11th, 12th and 13rd. Though over fourteen thousand Survaekoms died, the Honnerian defensive line had been bled almost completely dry.

Hjarkin ordered no more attacks, but on August 21st a white flag went up over the city as the First Fleet appeared along the coast. Rather than be bombarded into submission, the Honnerians simply gave up.

Battle of Kalas (Survaek Victory)
Casualties
Survaek: 14,642
Honneria: 25,653 (+29,347 prisoners of war)

Honnerian soldiers in defensive positions during the Battle of Kassi-Fi, 1902

August 25th: The First Army receives the surrender from the Honnerians, including their prestigious Honnerian Golden Guard. In the town of Wadke the Survaekom Army finds thousands of atrocities. With the enemy closing around them, the Honnerians had apparently began looting the town. Along with this, those Survaekom sympathizers were killed with reckless abandon. Over 5,000 civilians are found dead, their corpses often left in the street for all to say. When question, Colonel Korr of the Honnerian Golden Guard denied ever giving the order for the murder of civilians, but said that order broke down just before the surrender.

General Korr, and the remaining 12,543 soldiers of the Honnerian Golden Guard are sentenced to death by firing squad. The remaining Honnerian regulars are kept as prisoners of war.

August 28th: In what the Honnerians refer to as the Southern Betrayal, the entire Honnerian Golden Guard is executed. The Survaekoms referred to it as the Day of Righteous Justice. The mass graves outside of Wadke are unmarked and a foul stench lingers in the air for weeks.

August 29th: Reports of men and women gathering north of the town of Ladd in the Sorenan Corridor are reported to the Kalpian Occupation Army. They send several platoons to investigate.

SEPTEMBER

September 2nd: A patrol of the Kalpian Occupation Army comes under attack from partisans. 17 of the 30 Kalpians are killed before the partisans disappear into the woods.

September 7th: Meeting in Port Key, Anvegad, the Grand Survaek Empire and Second Republic of Honneria negotiate the Treaty of Port Key.

Treaty of Port Key (1902)
I. The entirety of Honnerian land in continental Serranthia will for once and forever be returned to the Survaek Grand Empire.

II. The Second Republic of Honneria will concede any future claim to this territory.

III. The Grand Survaek Empire will facilitate the transfer of all Honnerian prisoners of war back to their homeland no later than 1904.

IV. Any ethnic Honnerian who wishes to return to mainland Honneria or who refuses the pledge of loyalty to Survaek will be given passage back up until 1905.

V. The Honnerian government will be responsible for indemnities relating to the intentional destruction and sabotage of oil fields during the course of the war.

OCTOBER

October 2nd: The TPS Vigilant, a Deltoran destroyer that picks six 5" guns in three turret mounts, two in the front and one in the rear is finally completed. So powerful is the Vigilant that Deltoran military theorists think it can go toe to toe with some nation's light cruisers. Undergoing sea trials, it will join the fleet in December of 1902.

October 10th: At a joint meeting of Anvegadian and Survaekom officials, Foreign Minister Aedis Haerk reveals to the Anvegadians that during the Survo-Honnerian War, a Survaekom submarine searching for Honnerian merchant vessels accidentally mistook Anvegadian vessels for fleeing Honnerian ships. The Survaek submarine Akir attacked and sank the Anvegadian destroyer ANV Venom. Minister Aedis Haerk apologized on behalf of the Empire and offers $1,000,000,000 as reparations in 1904.

October 15th: A second submarine laid down by the Survaek Empire earlier this year is completed. Named Swordfish, it undergoes sea trials and will be ready to join the fleet in January, 1903.

NOVEMBER

November 11th: A destroyer laid earlier this year by the Empire of Zellonia is completed. It undergoes sea trials in the Zellonian Strait and is now ready for use. It has been named the ZNS Apollo.

November 13rd: Anti-government guerrilla fighters from Nasong cross the border into Xian and inflict heavy casualties on villages surrounding Beiqling during the night. Border patrols reveal they are simply anarchistic revolutionaries striking out against nearby Xian. Nasong does not officially recognize any guerrilla problems within it's borders.

November 20th: A submarine laid down earlier in the year has been completed and set to sea by the Empire of Zellonia. The submarine has been named the ZRS Sea God.

November 23rd: Another 10,000 volunteers complete their training for the Soroyan Royal Army. Without the rifles to equip them however, they join a long list of reserves, waiting to be called up. A large order of Cruska Guns also completes it's orders as well.

November 26th: After a long and rousing speech, Chairman Volkov of the Anvegadian Empire receives a standing ovation in the Long Hall of the capital. "Deplorable," he said, "That over 200,000 Anvegadians suffer and toil under Murenheidtan work conditions. Perhaps then, it is time we return the Anvegadians to their homeland, or bring the homeland to them."

DECEMBER

December 1st: The Kingdom of Kelric accepts the invitation from the government of Soroya to join the Sociatatem.

December 4th: Industrialists in the Kingdom of Aontas begin immense industrialization plans, they are slated for completion sometime next year.

December 9th: The Kalpian Army, still riding high from it's previous military prospects, receives a completed work on Indirect Artillery barrages from Lieutenant Krupp, an observer of Deltoran military practices in the last few years.

December 20th: A submarine laid down earlier in the year has been completed and set to sea by the Kalpian Republic.

December 29th: Stronger bulkheads, steam pipes and boiler designs have been unveiled so that future Soroyan capital ships will be much more reliable in longer sorties.

December 31st: Blizzards cover Aontas, Sorena and Khernikovia.
