Global Earnings Report

Total Sales for first Global Earnings Report

Though it single handedly destroyed the Asian platforming market for the next decade, the Great Swindle of early 2091 turned Phoenix Rising Entertainment into a superstar literally overnight. Similarly, while making huge strides in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Cognitive Robotics woefully underperformed and lost substantial ground in the market. Similarly, Tidal Enforcement was seen as the smallest fish in a big North American pond and investors quickly sent their investments to other more lucrative tracts in the Security and Weapons industry.

Persephone Station

North American Market
  • Weapons manufacturer Fairview-Clearweather Manufacturing introduces the FCM-101 Assault Rifle to the market and immediately begins production of it to meet demand. The weapon sells fantastically, selling nearly 5,000,000 units at a total net profit of $25,000,000,000.
  • An attempt by Tech-Comm to introduce a breakthrough in the Media sector amounts to nothing at a cost of $50 Billion.
  • Dreamcloud introduces DMC News into the North American market at a price of $3.
  • Dreamcloud purchases 2 Million Shares of Helping Hands Industry for $22.09 Billion.
  • Election Campaigns in the North American Union get underway with the nationalist and protectionist America First Party seek to regain power, while the progressive Alliance for Equality seek to maintain the status quo. Campaigns are expected to end in Fiscal Quarter 1, 2091. Given the current food shortage problem, prospects for the America First Party look promising, while the Alliance for Equality are campaigning on the strength of the current economy.

    Polling (Election Chances)
    - America First Party: 43%
    - Alliance for Equality: 38%

MegaCorporation Actions

1. Design Product: Select one of your Industries. This will generate a new product. It's Rating will be [Current Industry Level] + 1d99, with the 1d99 adding to the two decimals of the Rating. The rating system determines a products initial Popularity and Sales Modifier.

2. Produce Goods: All Industries generate their highest rated product. Production is [Baseline Production] x [Production Facilities] + [Heavy Manufacturing Bonus].

3. Expand Department: Select a Department. Pay $50 Billion + X0 Billion (X being the current Rank of the Industry) to upgrade it one level. Minor Industries cost 10% less.

4. New Department: Select an Industry. Costs $50 Billion. May now pursue Design Products, Produce Goods and Expand that Department.

5. Buy/Sell/Issue Shares: Choose a Public Corporation and select an amount of Shares to purchase or sell following it's relevant cost or price. - If you own at least half + 1 of a corporation available shares, you may begin a Merger or Acquisition of that corporation. You may choose to Issue any amount of Shares (Millions). This will decrease the Stock Price considering, as well as your ownership percentage of the company.
- Shares purchased cannot be sold until they have been owned for two fiscal quarters.

6. Corporate Espionage: Conduct one of several forms of corporate espionage.

7. Bid/Sell/Lease Land: You may Bid on a Land Plot, Sell a Land Plot, Lease it to a Megacorporation.

8. Introduce/Product: Select a Market. Determine selling price for viable products and Maximum Percentage of Product Allotted (What percentage of your product you'll sell into the market). Price is set when using this action from $0.10 to $20 as the maximum. Optimal price for 100% is based on Total Demand divided by Total Supply divided by total active competitors multiplied by [Product Exclusivity Modifier] selling in that space in that Fiscal Year.

9. Attempt Breakthrough: Select a Primary and Secondary Industry of yours. You may spend increments of $50 Billion to increase the Die Roll Modifier by 1. On a 1d6 roll, you will achieve a breakthrough on 5-6.

10. Deploy Asset: Plays an Asset Card. If unchallenged for the reminder of the Year, this will take effect at the beginning of the next year.

INDUSTRIES

[Unsaturated | Competitive | Saturated]

  • Artificial Intelligence: The utilization of machine intelligence that can not only replicate tasks already accomplished by humans but rather adapt and learn from them has nearly no limits. That being said, A.I. is stupendously expensive.
    - 2 of 18 Active Competitors (11%)
  • Weapons: Development of small arms as well as Mobile Frames, vehicles and technologies for combat applications is nearly endless. There is never a soldier that isn't looking for a new shiny weapon or a war for him to go die in.
    - 1 of 18 Active Competitors (5.5%)
  • Pharmaceuticals: Never have there been more illnesses that customers need to take care of. Researching new products will keep our customers alive and buying!
    - 1 of 18 Active Competitors (5.5%)
  • Finances: Financing is neither new or exciting. It is however an easy way of making money by lending funds to other corporations at a nice interest rate.
    - 3 of 18 Active Competitors (16.5%)
  • Cloning: An industry all it's own--though pairing well and often crossing into Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, "RepTech" is considered the "Technology of God," whereas growing human bodies is the trade of the day.
    - 1 of 18 Active Competitors (5.5%)
  • Space: Lunar exploration is gearing up on a whole new level, as are space walks and deep space exploration.
    - 3 of 18 Active Competitors (16.5%)
  • Virtual Reality: Dubbed the Second Universe, Virtual Reality is on the verge of existing with it's own infrastructure, economy and politics.
    - 3 of 18 Active Competitors (16.5%)
  • Cybersecurity: Cybersecurity is both the first offensive and defensive weapon in a megacorporation's arsenal. Protecting against black hat attacks might be the difference between sinking and swimming.
    - 3 of 18 Active Competitors (16.5%)
  • Security: Private Military Corporations legalized under the International Military Privatization Act of 2077 have turned every street walking mercenary into a soldier of fortune.
    - 5 of 18 Active Competitors (27.7%)
  • Media: While the only product they sell is information, media is absolutely necessary for selling your product and making the customer your friend.
    - 4 of 18 Active Competitors (22.2%)

World Event: Famines Strike North American Union

By the end of June, incoming shipments from South America and Africa had slowed.

It's easily forgotten how much of a house of cards we live in. An intricate and interlocking web of networks and trade deals, all a single click or hiccup away from collapsing. Today, something definitely fell through. Things didn't really start to hurt until July--the shelves had been emptied long before that, but it's not until you've got nothing that you realize that your neighbor isn't the enemy, it's those who put us into the position anyway. Some say it was climate change: overworking the environment caused minuscule changes in the climate that caused crop yields to fall. Others believed it was the profit motive. Why sell to the Union when there were more mouths to feed with bigger wallets in Europe and Asia anyway?
Johannes Mahster, Journalist for the Chicago Exclusive

- Demand for Entertainment and Electronics decrease by 20%.

  • Tech and transport giant SH Holdings enters the transport market in the hotbed of East Asia--bolstered by the Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shangzhou super highway. The SNR was dropped into the market but at $2,000,000 sales were.. good, but left a bad taste in the mouth of the designer who felt they were being taken of by a lack of competition in the market. "A nine hundred percent mark up," one talk show host lamented. Intending to sell 20 million units, SH Holding found themselves selling only two million, for a total of $40,000,000,000.
