"The death of Tsar Nicholas II of the Russian Empire is a horrible event indeed. I've always had respect for the Russian nation and its people for many reasons, which is why I would like to publicly announce that if his death is found to be an assassination by some rationalist or terrorist that I will join the Russians in any conflict against the nation that had sent the man to kill the great Tsar. I would also like to announce that I will personally be attending the funeral of the Tsar." -Speech by Woodrow Wilson
Inside the white house Lindley Garrison and William Jennings Bryan where sitting at a table discussing the possibility of an assassination against the great Tsar.
"It's obvious that the death of Tsar Nicholas was not by accident, rarely do people just drop dead like that," stated Lindley.
"Yes, but was it some crazed nationalist looking to be a hero or someone sent against the Russians by a rival nation?"
"I don't know, but I'd say the most likely candidate of setting up the assassination where the Japanese. Tensions between Russia and Japan have been high since the Russo-Japanese War."
"Yes Lindley, I get that, but would Japan really put themselves in that position, I'd say that it was probably some nationalist from the Caucasus or Poland."
"Ok then, let's just hope that it wasn't anyone big who planned it, a war between two great powers could escalate into something that would bring the world to its knees."
William Jennings nods and he leaves the room, leaving Lindley there to think about possible scenarios.
