Project Name: Achilles Appearance: Programming: Achilles is unique among modern robotic warfare in that he is controlled by a highly intelligent sentient AI. This AI has been modelled after the human brain, with vastly improved computing capabilities and logical faculties. This allows it to adapt to it's opponents on the battlefield, rapidly learning new techniques and tricks. It is capable of emotion, to an extent, as a necessary side effect. It is capable of all human emotions, but they are suppressed and overruled by it's most prevalent trait - loyalty. Nothing will cause this robot to betray those it considers it's allies. Materials: Modern robotics is a mixture of bio-engineering and conventional cybernetics. The AI, memory and processing power is held within a central 'brain', consisting of superenhanced biological tissue, a mass of receptors forming automatic links similar to grey matter. It's circuitry is similarly biological, allowing for rapidly adapting and regrowing links - even in a state of near destruction Achilles can continue to function. It's armour plating is formed from carbon-tubing enhanced with cyclical ions. In effect, it's a layer of reinforced diamond with the capability to put itself back together, scratches and holes rapidly closing, provided they're small. Larger quantities of damage can only be repaired using advanced machinery. Physical Capabilities: The Artificial Muscle used in the construction of Achilles consist of a variety of layered Nylon strings with electro-sensitive synapses, which grant it the strength of 50 men. It can tear apart steel with it's bare hands, and crush a man's head with ease. It's heavy armour prevents it from moving around at an optimal pace, but it can still easily outrun a human. Weaponry: The Achilles can utilize a modified version of almost any conventional infantry weapon. However, it's increased strength allows it to utilize the Magstorm, a specialized railgun with a rotating barrel. Using high-powered electromagnets, the Magstorm fires AP rounds at Mach 3, allowing for a perfect storm of destructive capabilities. It uses massive amounts of ammunition, carried on the Achilles' back, but it's offensive capabilities are worth the cost.
Alright, throwing up a char.
@thewizardguy You mean when omega's champions destroy the multiverse? Okay. Gotcha.
Yep. I created a situation in which you people have no way out, faced with literally impossible odds. And hell, even if you were to find some creative solution, I'd just invent a counter anyway. I mean, as we all know, impossible odds are impossible, and are never ignored in favour of awesome. That's why in HCL the big bad is never defeated, and the good guys always lose. Your constant bickering is beginning to annoy me, if you don't like how I'm running things go join another rp, or take over, or whatever, but stop throwing around baseless assumptions like they're worth something.
Voidwalker A child, or at least that is what an observer would have surmised. To truly judge the being's age was almost impossible, even simply by physical standards, as it was covered in warding runes writ on paper. Bound to a low-hovering platform, covered in paper, only a single bright yellow eye visible through the layer of parchment. And yet, it's soul was the most abstract sight of all. Distorted and twisted, as if it had been mangled and left to fall to pieces, and yet somehow functioning optimally. Bright purple portals appear over the muzzles of turrets, beams of hellfire and bullets are simply absorbed, as within instants the army's numbers are decimated by their own attacks. Demons are ripped to pieces, as the undead find themselves teleported away constantly, portals opening at hundreds of different locations simultaneously. Soon, undead and demons alike rain from the sky, smashing against the hard rocky surface of this world, reduced to little more than pools of blood. Bahamut Tall an imposing, a massive figure clad in red metal. An armour similar to that associated with ancient Samurai, a dragon mask obscuring the figure's face. A proud stance, and wings formed from flame, a burning halo adorning it's head. It radiated sheer power, with an air of natural authority, as if all those present were subordinate to it through their mere existence. It's power felt divine, implying that, much like the Clone Emperor, it was a God. As a tank dropped from the sky, the size of a house, this figure simply points upwards. A massive beast, long slender and red, shoots from the ground in front of it. A long dragon in the chinese style, over 12 meters in diameter, grasping the tank in it's jaws as it shot upwards into the sky. Instead of hitting the ground, it was thrown far up into the air, as giant teeth began piercing it's thick battle armour. Shaking it's head, the dragon was already ripping apart this tank. Cosmos Tall and fair, the image of human beauty. The body of the former Eclipse, now animated by a much darker mind. Cosmos smiles, the fairness of the face making it seem almost benign. Two great wings extend from his back, a twisted halo hovering over his head. Still there was the illusion of divinity, the tattered remains of the selfless virtue that had possessed this body's previous host. But now, it was nothing more than a tool for the ever-adapting Cosmos. The field of nagation was a rather simple enchantment, consisting of a reality-solidifying energy that instantly repaired the rips in reality the moment they were created. It was a simply matter, then, to turn it against it's creator. Cosmos needed not to unravel the strings of magic, but rather changed the weave, added a new pattern. An exclusion clause, to be precise. All portals formed by the Omegans would be fine, and yet any portal formed by others would be closed. And it was an even simply matter to remove the off-button, feeding it directly into the power source. Two more Omegans simply stood in the shadows, watching the battle unfold. Their forms were obscured, their auras hard to pinpoint, but there was no doubt they would be equally powerful to those who were already now ripping apart the forces sent against them. There would be no escape, there would be no victory, there would be no mercy. So why wouldn't they take their time? 5 chuckled, lightning gathering around it as it approaches the leaders of the opposition. Eruka, Ozzy and Lisa. Already, he had killed two of the Chosen, and he was eager to add more heads to his collection. "This is the true assault, the doom you shall face. This time, all of you will die." And with that, the android shot to attack.
((There are no caves! This is an underground military base!)) Slowly, a face begins to emerge from the white globe, bearing characteristics beyond those of a human. With every slight shift of angle, a new face is revealed, every shifting of the light unveiling another layer of features. An impossible appearance, eyes replaced with a simple blackness, filled with the cosmos. Simply staring into those eyes, a reflection of the universe could be seen. And as those eyes stared out, they saw all. Not the tiniest lifeform, not the most insignificant shred of magic could escape from their gaze. "THIS PLACE IS UNBALANCED. A NEW BALANCE MUST BE ACHIEVED." A droning voice, projected directly into the minds of those present. Like an explosion of psychic communication, it was deafening despite never striking the target's ears. There was no emotion, or at least none that could be recognized within the human spectrum. It simply projected power, purely and truly. Mithias finds the only exit to be a massive steel door, blasted open at the centre. Still, glowing remains of molten metal drip from the edges of the hole created by Vajira. And yet, even as Mithias watches, the metal seems to start floating upwards, and then slowly away from him. Then, within moments, he finds his feet slowly lifting from the floor. Looking around, it became clear that everything and everyone had started floating - Drac doing so of his own volition, on a blanket of red and green energy. It was not that they were being pushed, or pulled. Rather, gravity had simply been nullified. "BALANCE SHALL BE RESTORED" The air and ground shake and shiver, as pulses of energy run through the very fabric of reality. Slowly, everything begins falling apart on the molecular level, stone separating itself into a fine mist, metal dividing itself into a gas. Only the magical aura of those present prevented them from undergoing the fate that was rapidly spreading through the centre of the planet. Soon, the entire structure would be broken apart, reduced to it's most base components, physical laws suspended in favour of Shiva's will.
I reserve all rehashes of the entire thread until the end of the campaign.
Alright, let me place all the peoples. [Center of the Planet] A Daemon, an immensely powerful godlike being consisting of pure energy is emerging from an alternate reality. The holes between reality are being created by Genocide in order to bring about the end of the Multiverse. Genocide has used the hole to escape, presumably to go open another one at some other location or to make this hole bigger. Either way, bad things. Characters: Asura Kishin (In the process of porting out), Drac, Bug, Mithias. [Swamps of ?????] Far off in a distant universe, a group of people has been stranded in a swamp, protecting a being called the Dark One. This being is supposedly one of the Seals of Omega, and Genocide plans to use it somehow to free Omega (the Primal of Destruction). Cosmos, who had been sent after the Dark One, was recently defeated here, but he is not as dead as they suspect. Characters: Bloodseeker, The Dark One [Ozzy's Realm] Seeking to avenge some insult to his infernal clientele, the demon lord Ozzy has drawn 5 into his personal hell-dimension. However, for unknown reasons, the entire army of Omegans has emerged to destroy Ozzy and his realm entirely. Here, the remaining members of Omega's Chosen are about to be revealed. Characters: Ozzy If you want, I can give you a list of what characters belong to what roleplayer. Currently, Teo is heading down into the center of the planet, I would presume, so if you make a post placing you there you'll have arrived. I'll wait until you post to make my post.
I realize that Fury hasn't showed up, my point is simply that everything appears to be slowing down. As such, I was advising that Fury or something else interesting should occur, in order to grab people's attention. For risk of this roleplaying dying an untimely death. If it is necessary for logical consistency, timeskips may occur to move us towards this situation.
No problem, this just seems to move more slowly than I'm used to in Free. We've got some really nice material though, and I quit like the situation as it's playing out.
@Wraithblade6 Eh, I'm half-expecting Mathew to die anyways, at which point I'll just make me a CS for Lucy, and initiate operation Wipeout (which is a real thing, and not a bluff). Also, you do realize that modern nuclear weaponry could annihilate pretty much 80% of Brittain, right? And the radioactive fallout would kill anyone in the remaining 20%. That gives any nuclear attack a fairly good chance of destroying wherever Camelot is, or at least anything even remotely close to it. In any case, the point is moot. Oh and Grey, you have complete permission to kill off Mathew if you think that's the logical thing to do.
