Growth ~ A Musician's Life

Background:

Alex was born in Ireland in the country into a wealthy family. She was the middle child of 4 brothers so she grew up tough and was raised by the eldest brother, Mal. Alexs mother and father were always out working so she never got the parental love. She kept herself occupied by learning bass guitar and writing music. Her mother died at 11 and her father remarried to an abusive woman who was horrible to them all. Alex often stepped up to protect her younger 2 brothers, now in her charge after the eldest 2 moved to England. After 6 years of this she decided that enough was enough and she took her 2 little brothers and left to go to find her older brothers in England. She has been taking care of her two younger brothers by working bartending jobs. One night at work, they were having an open mic event and her co-workers decided to push her up on the stage and get her to sing. A member of the audience was looking for talent and he thought she would be a perfect singer for a line-up he was trying to put together. He pulled her aside and offered her a contract that she quickly took up. Alex has been singing solo events mainly in bars since then. Still looking for her brothers, she thinks she may be able to get well known enough that they can find her.

total badass with a sweet side, closed off mostly from everyone, has a hankering for adventure and kicking ass, makes friends for life (not many), keeps her mind on work (workaholic) but once she's off its party time, if you piss her off you've got a black mark for life unless you redeem yourself

The soft click of heels against the wooden stairs can be heard throughout the Tavern as Alex strides down the stairs putting on her leather jacket on the way down.

"Who's the bartender around this place now? I need a good whiskey pour about now."

[Continuing from forever ago since I've been on hiatus. Bouncer's back baby!]

Alex sat up in bed and before she could even open her eyes she could smell what smelled like an amazing array of... pancakes? She could remember being so young... the apartment, her mothers sweet voice, her fathers hard appearance and soft eyes and the smell of his aftershave... She shook her head at the memories. 'just push them back,' she thought.

She rubbed her eyes and opened them to find a dark figure at the end of her bed. Startled at first, she realized it was Dorian.

"Oh, uh... Mr. Dorian, I'm sorry... I...I just needed a place to sleep for a bit. Did you..." She looks toward the extravagantly laden tray, "bring that for me?"

She didn't expect such kindness from such a mysterious and superior man, especially her boss.
