What if Lacey was a Chinese orphan who was suppose to be a Red Assassin, but she was adopted by an American man. The Red Assassins later kill this man, so Lacey goes bats*** crazy, kills the Grandmaster, steals the Red Laces, and is out to f*** s**** up. Maybe she has a sister that is in the Red Assassins and is on a relentless quest to 'rescue' her from that life. She doesn't care about anyone else, and doesn't care who lives or dies.

Anyone can take up the mantle of Red Lace if they acquire the Red Laces.

Lacey Lee is now a Chinese female belonging to the Red Assassins, an ancient order of (exclusively) female assassins who spread across Europe to Asia. The Grandmaster wore the Red Laces and acquired legendary powers, but the Red Assassins are no more and now Lacey has the Laces. She is using her newfound powers to take revenge to the people who killed her sisters.

So she's not a Ninja and does not use katanas, is female, and is Asian (Chinese).

It as written rather quickly, and the descriptions are lackluster for now but I will fix it later. On a schedule.

Lee wasn't suppose to relate to a Japanese surname anyway, I just thought it went good with Lacey... 'Lacey Lee'.

Never played Dishonored. Time Travel is something far, far, far off, like if it was going to be a very special event (last resort sort of thing).

I'll have to rethink this though, it's looking a lot like a character named Elektra. Let me think on this for a while.

EDIT: And Lacey's not Asian. I sort of want to go with my standard hero... an assassin-like guy who relies on stealth and gadgets.

How's that? I'll change the katanas in a bit into something else... maybe she could just be trained to use a variety of weapons. Swords, daggers, knives, etc. Or maybe a pure martial artist, no weapons? Her powers come from the Red Laces, which are long laces you tie on your wrists to unlock those powers.

That phasing power might would allow her to teleport her teammates through barriers in the future... or even 'phase' them through time itself.

Appearance: Red Lace is an Asian female. In her normal appearance she has clear skin, dark brown eyes, and black hair. When she enters Red Fury her hair becomes fiery red and her eyes shine bright blue. Her attire is the same as the picture linked above. She has a red ribbon tied in her hair that seemingly vanishes while in Red Fury, but returns when she settles back down. She also wears the Red Laces on her wrists.

Powers: Some powers are 'trained skills', meaning she acquired them herself. Other powers are only possible through Red Fury, which greatly enhances her skills and abilities.
Phasing - While in Red Fury, Lacey can instantly teleport to a nearby location, so long as that location is visible to her beforehand. She seemingly vanishes from sight, only to reappear in another location. With time, this power could prove to be extremely useful.
Red Lightning - A new ability Lacey has learned, Red Lightning allows Lacey to emit red electrical energy from the tips or the fingers to shock, stun, and sometimes incapacitate her enemies while in Red Fury. It can also overload and recharge electrical devices, machines, etc. Being a new ability, this can tire Lacey out quickly, so she has to learn to maintain it first.
Red Summoning - Lacey can seemingly form weapons out of thin air. They can range anywhere from swords, bows, chakras, throwing knives, and more. She utilizes an assortment of weapons by using this ability and can alter them at will.
Enhanced Perception and Sensory - Red Fury allows Lacey to see faster than others, as if she is always one step ahead of her opponent. She is able to accurately pinpoint where the next strike is coming from and where it's headed. She can also see the trajectory of projectiles, sense her surroundings, and more. Her vision is also greatly enhanced. These are NOT superhuman levels.
Enhanced Speed - In Red Fury, Lacey is able to move at lightning-fast speeds. She strikes quicker than you can react, runs quicker, climbs quicker, etc.
Enhanced Reflexes - Lacey's intense training has honed her reflexes to the point where they're nearly superhuman. She does not require Red Fury for this to be active.
Enhanced Hearing - Lacey is able to hear extremely well, and does not require Red Fury for this. This is a result of the intense meditation, concentration, and focus Lacey uses while on her missions.

Skills:
Martial Artist - Lacey is an experienced martial artists. Her main strengths lie in her lightning-fast, relentless assaults.
Acrobat - Lacey is an acrobat, able to free-run, climb, leap, twist, spin, and flip with ease.
Trained Warrior - Lacey is capable of using traditional weapons (swords, bows, daggers, staffs) with great effectiveness.
Assassin - Lacey can be quiet, subtle, and is extremely cunning and sneaky.
Knife Thrower - Lacey is a capable knife thrower.
Agile - Lacey is very agile thanks to her lithe body build.

Equipment/Resources:
Red Laces - A Red Lace is a legendary artifact from China, and only two are known to exist - both of which are in the possession of Lacey. They appear as standard, long, 5 foot laces, but they hold a magical energy inside. This energy binds them so strongly they cannot be ripped, torn, burned, or stained. They are nearly impervious to damage. They originally belonged to the Grandmaster of the Red Assassins, an order of exclusively female warriors, but Lacey stole them after murdering the previous Grandmaster. The Red Laces imbue the user with the ability to unleashed the Red Fury, which grants the user amazing powers and abilities.

Weaknesses: Lacey prefers to fight in close-quarters and confined areas where she can easily confuse her opponents and use her surroundings to her advantage. She suffers in open-areas, especially when she is facing ranged attackers. Any speed-hindering powers can greatly limit her skills, as she puts so much emphasis into her speed. Lacey also has problems of fighting as a team, preferring to run solo, and this attitude can jeopardize an entire mission.

Psychological Profile: Lacey is a relentless assassin with one goal. She is determined to accomplish that goal, and will not hesitate to take down anyone who gets in her way. She does not care about anyone else, she doesn't care who lives or dies, and she doesn't much care if she's the cause of any problems. All shes cares about is killing the Red Assassins.

That being said, she is more than willing to work alongside anyone who is also fighting the Red Assassins. In fact, she doesn't mind working alongside anyone, as long as they have the same enemies, although she may appear somewhat bossy. She doesn't like taking orders from anyone else, but as time passes she may learn to obey her superiors.

Biography: Lacey Lee was born in China, and both of her parents were Chinese. Her mother was part of a seclusive organization known as the Red Assassins, an order of female warriors following ancient traditions. Around age 2, both of Lacey's parents were murdered by an unknown group but Lacey was spared. Originally, the Red Assassins would have rightfully claimed her, but a traveling American social worker spotted her and adopted her.

The American moved back to America where he would raise Lacey as his own. Lacey lived a normal American life, but her adoptive father enrolled her in a martial arts academy where she learned basic martial arts skills. Lacey thought it was a bit 'cliche' but she enjoyed it. At one point in her life, while being bullied, she used her skills against an older boy and ended up breaking his arm.

When she turned 16 years old her adoptive father was murdered by the Red Assassins. Lacey had fortunately evaded the attack but she feared for her life and so hid as best she could. For three years she lived as a lone wanderer, a thief on the streets. In those three years she studied, researched, learned, and investigated as much as she could about 'those in red'. She also trained herself in martial arts, becoming stronger, faster, and better with each passing day.

At age 19 she was ready. She made herself known, and the Red Assassins came for her. Instead of killing her, however, she was taken into their fold. She was flown to China, the headquarters of her secretive enemy. There they explained to her the ancient heritage she held in her blood, her true destiny, and promised to set her back on the 'right path'. It was there she learned of the Red Laces, worn by then then-Grandmaster of the Red Assassins. In a surprising and stunning move, Lacey dismembered the hands of the woman, stabbed her in the chest, and picked up the Red Laces. The Red Assassins looked on at her, in disbelief of what had happened.

Sliding on the Red Laces, Lacey grinned and challenged the Red Assassins. One by one, the entire royal guard was defeated, as none could best her while she wore the Red Laces. She killed them all, burned down their hideout, and fled the scene of the crime. This rocked the entire Red Assassins organizations, now spread out around the world. For the next 5 years she could hunt, track, and kill every last Red Assassin she came across, completely oblivious to everything else in the world.

Her signature red ribbons on her wrists flow in the air, displaying an elegant and beautiful side to the fierce and deadly strikes she delivers with her weapons. An experienced acrobat, improviser, and martial artist, there are few who could match the cunning of this dangerous redhead.

I may be able to make a woman character, cause Will is probably better suited for my other superhero RP I may join.

She'd be a sort of martial artist type of woman. I don't want her to be a carbon copy of Black Widow. Might name her Red Velvet.. or Red... something. Something with Red in it. Red will be her trademark color. Long red hair, pale white skin, bright blue eyes, red suit... may use swords, not sure yet. I don't get to superhero-y with my superheroes.

I want to make a character, but I want to run it by you first. My character has no superpowers, but he has an indomitable will, and in a way you can consider that a superpower. It's sort like Tony Stark; he has no superpowers, but you can assume his intellect is technically his superpower. Let's call this character Will for now.

So this character is a crimefighter. He has no superpowers, he's never actually been taught to fight, he isn't trained to use weapons effectively, and he doesn't even consider himself a superhero, just some guy trying to stop crime in his city.

I have been wondering if it would be okay for Will to always get his ass kicked. Like, he tries to fight, and he may get some punches in, but he's more or less just cannon fodder who gets his ass beat in every confrontation throughout the roleplay. He might get better later, but his theme is that he always get his ass beat.

He has an indomitable will (his name, Will, is a play on this). This means he refuses to give up, it's against his nature. You can beat him to a pulp, shoot him, stab him, break his bones, gouge his eye out, throw him off a building, but he won't stop trying to do what's right. He'll get up and keep fighting, even if it means he's just going to get his ass whooped again. The only way to stop Will is to either knock him unconscious or kill him.

That same indomitable will means he can resist any sort of mind manipulation, he can withstand intense amounts of pain, and he is relentless in his objectives.
