Don't worry, I also keep busy working 7 days a week.
@UnendingEmpire: Glad to hear it.

@Lord Pie: If you want to support Hojo you can, but I think more people are going to lean more on defeating him. Hojo is the 'Dong Zhuo' of this roleplay (Dong Zhuo being part of China's Warring States, not Sengoku). I will check out Samurai Adams, thanks for the suggestion. Also, in this roleplay, the Kaiyu Emperors did not delegate nearly as much power to their Shoguns like their Japanese counterparts did; the Emperors in this roleplay made a lot of the decisions themselves, which is why the Kaiyu were so greatly appreciated; in the absence of an Emperor and an heir, all power has been delegated to Shogun Hojo (as per general law), so at this point in time the hierarchy would be switched so the Shogun has more power, but generally the Emperor would have not delegated as much power to him so I wrote it as you saw it; as soon as Ina Kaiyu reveals herself (which probably won't be soon) then more people are going to be inclined to listen and support a Kaiyu heiress instead of Shogun Hojo (or whatever other popular leaders rise up afterwards); it is the simple fact that she is 'royal' and the common people would much rather follow her than anyone else, despite her being 10. It's like if a great King disappeared for a few years, then suddenly returns, more people will probably be inclined to rejoin him.

Like I said guys, this is still up in the air; got some stuff to work on before I host it, you know how it is.
I encourage such a thing!

Yeah, Samurai Warriors 2: Empires really got me hooked on the whole Sengoku thing, but I've been having a stint with it, Dynasty Warriors, and Drift off of Transformers 4.
Keiji and Ina will begin the game alone and have no allies at first. So long as she survives, the storyline will follow her journey from a naive 10 year old girl to a clever and deadly opponent. Keiji begins as her captor but his presence will have a profound effect on her. Once she is revealed, your ninja could dedicate their life to her if he makes his way to her.
This does not take place in Japan, Shogun Hojo is not affiliated with the Hojo Clan of Sengoku (it was a placeholder name anyway), and Hanzo Hattori would not have existed in this universe.

If you want to be a ninja, do you think you'd be more interested in being the personal assassin of a daimyo/samurai/ronin, or do you think you would want to be part of one of the many secretive clans located throughout the land? Or would you want to be a lone wolf with your own agenda?

This roleplay draws heavily from the Warring States period in both China and Japan (Japan's Warring States Period is also known as Sengoku). The setting and culture draws heavily from feudal Japan. It will take place on a fictional island-nation, much like Japan, and will have romanticized elements, and will chronicle the series of conflicts that erupt as the land is thrown into chaos. Expect lots of drama, diplomacy, warfare, ninja, espionage, deception, and samurai.

Note: This roleplay is quite a ways from being finished; I need to come up with more names, learn more about feudal Japan, and draw up a satisfactory map. I am not using direct traditional Japanese names for various reasons.

Brief Story
For centuries, the land has been ruled by the benevolent Kaiyu Clan. Unfortunately the entire Kaiyu family has been massacred by a group of unknown assassins (ninja)... with one exception: Ina Kaiyu. Ina Kaiyu is the youngest daughter of the Emperor Kaiyu, and she is only 10 years old. Her body was not found in the aftermath of the killings and many witnesses describe a young girl being taken away by a 'red demon' (who is NOT working for the ninja).

In the absence of the Kaiyu line, and with the lack of any official heir, power has been seized by the tyrannical Shogun Hojo. Hojo maintains a firm grasp on the imperial forces still loyal to the empire, along with incredibly capable warriors to lead them. His tyrannical rule and general infamy amongst the peasants is certain to incite rebellion. This is where you come in.

This roleplay mostly concerns the many Daimyo, who are suppose to swear allegiance to the Shogun, but that presents a problem: your peasants do not like Hojo and will revolt if you remain loyal to him; your only option is to brace for revolt or listen to your people and secede from Hojo's tyrannical rule. You and the other Daimyo's need to a secure an alliance quickly and take down Hojo together. After he is dealt with... that's where the real fun begins, as you're going to be faced with the question of who should be the next Shogun - or even Emperor? This will lead to necessary diplomacy and potential wars.

Other than being a Daimyo, you may be a Samurai - an elite warrior who has sworn allegiance to a Daimyo; you will lead your Daimyo's army into battle (armies are largely made up of peasants, with Samurai leading them as lieutenants and generals). You may defect at any time you want, even become your OWN master and lead your OWN forces and may even be the Shogun or Emperor some day!

Other than a Daimyo or Samurai, you may be Ronin: a masterless samurai. Ronin do not owe allegiance to anyone, and they may lead small forces into battle depending on if they have gathered followers or not. Ronin may be hired as mercenaries or can even devote their allegiance to a Daimyo if they wish. Other roles are also allowed, such as ninja and apprentices (and anything else you can think of).

There's also a wildcard in this roleplay: Ina Kaiyu. Ina's only 10 years old, but the fact that her last name is 'Kaiyu' is an incredibly powerful asset. Simply revealing her identity will cause hordes of peasants, ronin, samurai, and even daimyo's to flock to her side, as every peasant in the land wants the Kaiyu's back in power. If Ina was to be killed, that person would draw the ire of almost everyone in the land. Whoever gains Ina's loyalty, whether by force of refuge, has an enormous advantage. The problem is that Ina is currently missing and no one knows where she is at.

Characters
Shogun Hojo [Shogun] - A corrupt tyrant who assumed control of the Empire after the death of the Kaiyu family. Hojo maintains a firm grip on the imperial forces and the skilled officers still aligned with the Empire. It will prove a challenge to take him down and so the Daimyo's need to work together to really defeat him.
Ina Kaiyu [Displaced Princess] - Last Kaiyu alive, rightful heir of the throne, and the greatest asset to anyone looking to rule the empire. Ina is currently missing, but if found she would certainly change the game of the entire roleplay. Ina has been taken captive by the 'red demon' also known as Keiji.
Keiji [Ronin - Kaiyu] - Former Ronin who offered his allegiance to Hojo, but quickly went rogue shortly before the assassination of the Kaiyu clan. Keiji is currently holding Ina Kaiyu captive and their location is not known. Keiji was once a honorable samurai, but his infamy grew after he become the right-hand of Hojo. He is an extremely skilled warrior.

Grievous Findings

As Toric made his way through the trees he began to hear faint voices. He ducked lower, almost like a wolf, keeping low to the ground and observing his surroundings. He began to draw closer, the voices grew louder, and soon enough he could smell something foul being roasted over a fire. The voices were those of the crog, a putrid race of troll-like creatures often aligned with the Iceni from the Icelands. He observed at least six: five around the fire and at least one within the makeshift tent not to far away from the fire. Tied up to a nearby tree-stump was a sickly looking beast, horse-like but with slimy, organic skin, anticipating the meal roasting over the fire.

What caught Toric's eyes afterwards was something horrific. The bloody bones, scraps, and organs of what appeared to be humans! They had been slaughtered! And eaten!

By that point Toric's muscles began to quiver with rage. All he could think of was Lily and the possibility that she was one of the half-eaten individuals now strewn around the area. He blocked the thought of it and channeled his rage into a battle cry.

The crogs began looking around frantically for the source, scrambling to their feet and grabbing their weapons. They hissed and growled as they laid their eyes upon the charging warrior. The five crogs quickly scampered towards him.

Upon closing in, Toric bashed through the crowd of enemies shield first. A few of them went stumbling back. A quick slash, a thrust, and a spinning hack quickly wounded and then beheaded one of the crogs. Sparks flew as metal scrubbed up against metal. His heart raced and his blood boiled, but he made quick work of these savages. By the time he withdrew his blade from the final crogs throat he caught the sight of the bulkier crog, now mounted atop the beast...

The Red Lady

Toric looked around frantically, attempting to find whatever was causing such sorcery. His eyes landed on a figure to his right. She seemed to have come from nowhere, draped in bright, crimson robes. Her eyes were hidden, but the tip of her nose and faint outline of her cunning grin teased what Toric thought a beautiful face. She was just as tall as Toric, but she an elegant and lithe build about her.

"Who are you?" Toric demanded. He gripped the hilt of his blade with one hand while his other was prepared to raise his shield if need be. Once before he would not have been able to bring a blade to the flesh of a woman, but his mind was not in its right place at the time.

"Not an enemy, Toric Valgard," replied the woman. "Stay your blade. Be at ease, and hear the words I speak." The woman's voice was smooth and soft, elegant and calm. It was the vocal representation of something euphoric. Something supernatural filled the air, putting Toric's mind a little more at ease. His weapons lowered to his side, realizing this woman meant him no harm.

"Well. Get on with it," he urged her.

"I know who you seek. But you're far to late. By now, Lily has been handed off at her destination-"

"You know where my daughter is?" Toric interrupted, eager to learn the location of his only daughter.

"I know many things Toric. I know that the one who holds your daughter has already made it to his destination."

"Well then tell me how to get to him," Toric abruptly replied. "Tell me!"

The woman just stood there silently, as if frozen in place. She finally spoke after a few moments. "You can't defeat him. Not you. There is but two I know of who could hope to defeat him. One would never dare turn on him, while the other... rests beneath Under Deep."

Toric clenched his hands, squeezing both shield and sword. "Damn it, woman, stop playing these mind games. Tell me where-" All of a sudden Toric became blinded. A bright light illuminated his vision. He tried to blink, to speak, to cover his eyes, but he could not move. Then the light vanished and there was nothing but darkness. A sharp, eerie, piercing noise entered his ears and there before him he could see a ruined keep. His view shifted towards one of the towering spires, almost as if he was having an out-of-body experience. Inside he could hear the sobbing of a child. As his view continued to shift he could make out the dark hair of none other than his daughter: Lily. Blood covered the floor, and she sat there, trembling in fear, lost and confused. No! All Toric could do was yell inside his head. He tried to scream, tried to fight, but nothing happened! And then there was darkness.

He felt the chilling air of Asgeir. He could smell the bodies of the fallen. Slowly, he opened his eyes. He was trembling, afraid, on his knees. "No," he said quietly. In front of him stood the Red Lady, simply observing him with clasped hands.. He mustered up the strength to call out to her. "Where is she? Why is this happening?"

The woman seemed unmoved by Toric's fierce questions. She lowered her head as if contemplating before turning around. "Seek out Moon's Landing. That is where you will find me. That is where you will know the truth. Within a moment the Red Lady vanished, as if she had never even been there.
I'd rather you guys choose a GM instead of me. I didn't host this long enough to see who would be the best. Whoever has a good plan or idea for the roleplay I would say. Someone who has seen Star Wars and Guardians of the Galaxy, or played the Mass Effect games, or someone with knowledge in science-fiction and science-fantasy,
