Even though lesbian means they're attracted to females rather than males, people I know generally thought it was pretty hot when two chicks was together.

And then they'd bash pretty discriminately on gay men.

PS: How is indiscriminately a word but discriminately not?
Originally named the Faintly Gallows, and then rebooted on another forum as the Hallows Inn, I realized another RP exists (or existed) on this site known as the Hallows Inn already. Therefore, I'll need a new name.

This would be a classic roleplay: a collection of various characters meet at an inn and embark on several adventures together. But it's one of those dark, low fantasy, dung ages type of settings. It has some dark undertones, horror elements, some mystery, superstition, urban legends, and the like.

It centers around an inn, which I need a new name for. This inn sits in the center of a small town known as Blackwater, protected by a palisade wall, which sits in the center of a dark forest known as the Darkwald. I expect dark, shady characters like bounty hunters, assassins, thieves, thugs, scumbags, mercenaries, etc, but I'll allow other characters as well. Magic isn't as common amongst the populace in this roleplay, and is usually reserved for specific evil/selfish beings. If you do use it you're known as a sorcerer or sorceress.

There's no specific or set story set in place. I expect the players to develop their own stories and each of you participate in them for whatever reason. You have a problem, you need help, you recruit local adventurers at the inn. The beauty of it is that you can jump in and drop out at any time.

One thing that has been well received is Jaque, an eccentric man who travels through town every now and again and sells strange and mysterious trinkets that the characters can buy.
Rejected for being a lesbian? Isn't that usually a plus?
I'm a horrible GM for several reasons.

When you GM you need to make absolutely sure you're committed to it (and that goes for RPing too). Are you just going through a short 'fad' that will vanish from your mind in a few weeks? I'm the type of person who sees Transformers, Lord of the Rings, or Star Wars and suddenly want to make an RP based on or inspired by them. But a week later I realize I kind of don't want to host a RP about them. This is my biggest weakness. I get caught up in the hype and then the hype dies down and I'm caught being a GM. Nothing like joining a fun RP when the host suddenly disappears. I've done this a dozen times, even here on these boards, and I know it's annoying.

The next thing I'm going to tell you kind of goes hand in hand with commitment. Make sure you're going to have time to do it. Gonna work a lot of overtime the next few months? Going on a cruise? Going away for a while? Make sure you at least tell people before you do these things, or wait till they're over and then host the RP.

Have a clear vision. You say you already got your world planned out pretty good, and that's a start. Make sure you know where you're going with the RP, otherwise you'll end up making stuff up on the go and it'll feel convoluted. If you have a good idea in mind of where the RP should go, specify to the players what type of characters you're seeking. You will end up getting some very creative, interesting characters, but they won't fit in the RP. Don't be afraid to tell them they can't join. Better yet, simply offer them suggestions that might make their character work in the RP.

Like I said, I'm a pretty terrible GM. But I'm improving. I've been carrying a RP of mine called 'The Hallows Inn'. since 12/14/2014, which is now 6 months. That's amazing for me to do. People are still highly interested in it as well. But it is on the BattleOn! Forums.
go sit with the cool kids next time you're in class

then come back and tell the rest of us losers what its like to be in the upper echelons of society
If you allow your character to be faulty, it shows realism. When someone swings a huge warhammer at you, you can deflect it with your shield, but make sure you let them know it staggered you and made you take a few steps bacl. This way it lets them know you're willing to be 'real' with it, and it might make them be 'real' with you when the time comes. That's what I gathered from experience.

Also, just explain what your character is doing, and what they intend to do. Never say that the hit connected, because this borderlines on bunnying. So after your character staggered back from the axe's blow, you lunged forward with your sword and aimed for the opponent's heart. You didn't stab his heart, you just aimed for it.

But sometimes you need to point out why they can't succeed. You may say something like: your character took advantage of the heavy warhammer's slow speed and lunged for the opponent's heart as he readied his next blow. The person may or may not agree with this, but everyone knows warhammers are heavy, and even swinging sledge hammers in real life lets you know it takes a lot longer to pull them into another 'attack position'. So you have the right of realism on your side then.

This one time I created a character called a Ziori who used an array of weapons and experience to combat his foes. Another guy made some sort of over-powered flying reptile-merman hybrid who carried a trident and could control lightning and the ocean. We despised each other before the RP even began, so we started planning the ultimate battle. I would have had to travel across two seas and travel a continent to get to his domain, but boy was I ready.

I was going to flee into a nearby cave and let him follow me in. That would have negated his abilities to use lightning and the ocean, and flying around in a cave would have proved cumbersome. All he would have had was his trident. And we all knew my arsenal and skill in combat would have overcome his skills with a trident. I had a shield, a retracting spear, and two shortswords at my disposal.
Here's an idea that follows 3 storylines which are suppose to eventually converge.

It is called 'Alpha&Omega', and is a sci-fi roleplay set in the far future. The Alliance has occupied much of the galaxy and passes laws and regulations that allow them to maintain a strict hold over their domains. Then there's the Federation, who despise the Alliance and wish to remain independent, but they banded together once before to stand against the Alliance.

There's a planet called Corvais, and it is rich in resources and is very important because its system acts as a gateway to either side of space; it is like Constantinople/Istanbul in space. The Alliance and Federation fought over Corvais long ago in what is now known as the 'Corvais Wars'.

About 1/4th of the galaxy is known as 'Deadzone', which no one controls and is only partially explored. This is where thugs, slavers, gangsters, mercenaries, and other vile beings make their home.

The three stories are:
1. Omega Squad: Group of rag-tag bounty hunters, thugs, assassins, and criminals who try to stop 'something' in Deadzone. Custom characters.
2. Alpha Squad: Highly skilled advanced team of veterans. Colton is the squad leader, has a jetpack, likes to use pistols and assault rifles. Lex Stratus is a scout, is intelligent, and likes to use a semi-automatic scout rifle. Wolf is a mute and likes to use sniper rifles, but he's also an expert martial artist and collects knives. Finally, Rigs is the heavy weapons specialist and demolitionist.
3. A Council in the Alliance that tries to stave off a war between the Alliance and the Federation, debating and arguing with each other. They can call in their assets: Alpha Squad, to handle specific situations. They also hire Omega Squad to deal with matters within Deadzone. Whatever they agree on is what Omega Squad and Alpha Squad end up doing.

My teacher was a drill sergeant and he always told us Marines are 'first in, first out'.

That's about as much as I can tell you. I'm to scrawny to join the military.
Sorry guys, I forgot to mention you have to start with 50 of each resource.
Welcome to v1, the basic, bare-bones version of the game. Anyone can join in at anytime!

But first, fill this sheet out:
Company: Name of your business.
Cash: $5000
Production: Pick Oil, Steel, or Power. You will produce +5 units of this per turn. The other two resources will decrease by 10 units every turn. You need to maintain all 3 resources in order to stay in the game. You begin with 50 of each.
Price: Pick anything you want, so long as it is dollars. No cents allowed. This is how much money people will pay per unit.
Oil: 50
Steel: 50
Power: 50

The game starts in Janurary, 1900. Every turn is one month. If you want to join, just post the app. After every turn you may change your price, as well as tell me what resources you wish to purchase, how much of that resource, and from who.
