This is going to be the story of Aleks the Great, a hunter from a place called Ruthia. It will be about how he became a great warrior and a great leader for the Ruthians. If you are Mongolian, I am not trying to be mean please; your ancestors were cool too, and I will make a cool character for you also, but right now they will influence the bad guys.
Chapter I: Aleks Musters Some Men
The story starts at this little inn located somewhere in a dark forest. It's made of wood, probably what you would imagine a Medieval Russian inn would look like, but this isn't Russia. Anyway, there's some mean looking guys in here, with thick fur coats; they look like the kind of guys who would carry axes around for protection and to cut down trees if they needed to for some reason. But these dudes are just farmers, and they come all the way to this inn because their wives are usually looking for them and those women are to scared to come in to these dark woods (bears might maul them, that's one reason the men probably carry axes). They can come here to get drunk and have fun after a hard day's work at their farm.
The door slowly opens and out main character walks in. His name is Aleks. He's like these other guys, real mean looking with a long black beard, rough facial features, and that kind of stuff. He looks like a stereotypical Russian warrior, like Medieval Vladimir Putin. No one notices him at first, and he walks over to the bar. "Hey bartender, I need some beer," he says casually, cause he drinks a lot of beer and talks to a lot of bartenders.
"Okay, here's you some beer," the bartender says, passing him a full mug of alcohol. Our hero flips the man a coin for payment and then chugs the beer down pretty quickly. He slams the mug hard on the wooden surface and burps very loudly. This burp gets the attention of everybody, cause it is pretty loud and burping that loud means you're probably pretty manly and so that's why everyone looks.
Aleks starts to talk. "I just now saw some horse archers," these horse archers are like the Mongols, but they're not like Mongols, "and they killed some kids, so they're evil. We should kill them!" The mean Russian-looking people slam their fists down and get fired up, but they're not Russians they are Ruthians. "Get your axes," these guys probably do have axes, so that's why Aleks says that, "and get on your horses, and we will go kill the horse archers. I know where they're at."
All of the men get up and pull their axes out of their coats. Some are bloody cause they killed bears on their way to the inn, or sappy cause they killed trees on their way here. They follow Aleks outside and get on their horses. These are farm horses, but they're well-conditioned cause the Ruthians are big brute men and so they have to be able to carry them.
The posse follows Aleks quickly through the woods and finally they all go to this little road. "Come on, they're over here," Aleks commands them, and they listen, cause he's not wearing generic stuff like they are, and they know he's the real deal. Some smoke is seen and Mongolian-like laughter can be heard and so Aleks and his men creep along the trail until they are within range.
The horse archers look like Mongols, but they're not Mongols. They have Mongol-looking armor and weapons, and they're eating some stolen food and pushing some Ruthian women around.
"Kill them all, no mercy, except for the women, because they are Ruthians," Aleks commands, clearing up any confusion. In the heat of battle you probably can't tell whose man or woman, so he needs to say this.
The mounted Ruthians charge from their hiding spot near the trail and straight to the horse archers. The horse archers see them and try to get on their horses but many are cut down when the Ruthians hit them with bloody and sappy axes. "Take that you horse archer man," they yell. They then say "these are Ruthian women, not horse archer women".
This one guy rides past a sack of bread. "And this is my bread," he says. He's probably telling the truth, cause this farmer is a bread maker and he makes some good bread and this fine looking bread is probably his. His name is Gordo, and he is good at cooking, and he will be Aleks' cook for now on.
Oh no, one guy gets up on his horse and gets his bow, and they're good at being horse archers. Fortunately, one of the farmer-Ruthhians goes "hunh" and throws his axe at the horse archer, killing him instantly.
Aleks himself slams his axe so hard on a man's head it splits the helmet and cracks his skull. "That's what I call a good kill," he says.
It looks likes all the horse archers are dead, so the Ruthians regroup and see that they suffered no casualties cause they snuck up so good. "Let's cut off their heads," Aleks said, "not because we are barbarians, but because we need proof that we killed horse archers," this is true because how else will the noble in chapter 2 know they killed these guys? So the lop off the heads of these men and put them in sacks and also put the women on their horses and they ride to town. It is important that do not ride by their inn, because the women might tell their wives the location, but bears would eat them anyway, which is also a bad thing. Aleks picks up a really beautiful women.
"Thank you," she says, "they were about to do bad things to us, but you guys got here just in time." She's going to be a main character starting in chapter 2.
The posse rides to town, like I said, and they will meet a noble who will appear in chapter 2, and he is pretty major at the beginning of my story. So right now our main characters are Aleks, his cook Gordo, the woman that Aleks just saved, and the noble in chapter 2, and probably the axe-thrower.
Comments post below! Chapter 2 maybe tomorrow.
