Otto huddled next to the little fire that he and 'Leon' managed to start up. He had unstrapped his sword and sit it nearby, so that the heat of the flames might free it from its icy scabbard. He was able to get a better look at the man before him, casting him short glances.

Prussian, the Teuton mentally noted. He was not sure so sure earlier, but seeing him now, he was very certain. The question was whether or not he was friend or foe.

Had Leonid looked up he would eventually see the Knight glaring at him. "Does it not bother you, Leon, that you were going to kill Prussians?" Otto was testing him. "You never thought about joining the Prussian Confederates?" In truth, Otto didn't know whether Leon was a Prussian auxiliary, or part of the union plotting against him. If he was friend, then all was well. Otherwise... well, Otto had no reason to kill the man just yet.

Deeper in the cave, in a dark alcove yet unseen by the two men, something else waited... watching... preying...
I really like your character's background @bluetommy2, just two things:

-While it's not a big deal, when you post this bio in the Char sheet, change 'Empire' to Republic, as it is currently ruled by the Senate and not an Emperor.

-Maybe go into a little more depth about your force. Are conscripts lightly armored, medium armored, heavily armored, what kind of weapons do they use, what is their primary purpose, etc. Same thing with the other units. This helps me gauge their effectiveness in the role play when they're used for a specific purpose.

Once you do this, you can post in the character tab, cause I really like this bio.
XANDERII

The Rise of Scipius

This role play will take place in Archon's Pass, which serves as the only viable route through the Charon Mountains. Pushing in from the west is a mighty army led by the dreaded General Scipius. Scipius intends to cross the mountain pass and wage war on the eastern world. Opposing him is a makeshift alliance of various kingdoms. Unfortunately, the easterners need time to prepare and assemble an effective fighting force. To buy them some time, they have each sent a token force to Archon's Pass, who must defend it for as long as possible.

You will be playing as a general for the Alliance. You and your soldiers must meet with the other commanders and discuss strategy and tactics in the Camp Phase. During the Battle Phase you will attempt to defend the pass from Scipius' army, who will make daily assaults. Scipius will have built fortifications on his side of the pass and they will be impossible to breach, and his numbers are infinitely higher than your own, so your only option is to defend the pass as long as you can until you're forced to retreat. Archon's Pass itself is a large, elevated, flat valley located between two very high mountains. It is wide and long enough that two armies can maneuver with tremendous ease.

The role play takes place in an 'Ancient setting'. There are no knights, no steel plate armor, etc. Your inspiration should come from the Roman Empire, Ancient Greece, the Persian/Parthian Empire, Celtic and Germanic tribes, Egypt, etc. Magic is not allowed.

I want to try to keep the world's lore a little vague and obscure. It is analogous to our own, however, with Scipius and his legions being directly inspired by the Roman Republic. Archon's Pass would be located in an area like the Alps, and it is the 'gateway' to the rest of the world in the eyes of Scipius and his superiors. For a long time, the Republic has been confined behind the Charon Mountains, but as Scipius has defeated the Republic's enemies there they now look over the mountains and plan to conquer beyond. Almost a century previous to this event, a man known as Xander (analogous to Alexander the Great) conquered much of the known world, but his death brought about the fracture and eventual fall of his empire; no one else has come close to achieving what Xander did, but Scipius is intent on doing so.

Cool.

I'll be shopped no tomorrow but I'll try to get an ooc up on the weekend.
This roleplay was inspired by The Rise of Domrius, one of my favorite roleplays of all time. It will be almost identical, with a few changes (most notably my own characters and setting).

The premise is simple. A great general has risen in the west, and his name is Scipius. He marches his legions to Charon Pass, which serves as the only possible route through the Charon Mountains. It will take some time before the eastern nations can muster the full strength of their armies, so they have sent small detachments to Charon Pass in an attempt to stall Scipius' legions. Ultimately, Scipius will prove victorious, but the Allies must hold out for as long as possible to ensure the east can mobilize an effective response to Scipius.

Everyone will create a character and will be in charge of up to 500 soldiers. Your character and their background, as well as the composition of their army, will be decided by you. However, you should keep in mind this takes place in an ancient setting, so you should take inspiration from Ancient Greece, the Persian Empire, Ancient Egypt, Celtic and Germanic tribes, etc. Scipius and his legions are analogous to the Roman Republic, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't shy away from having a Roman-themed character and army; I will accept any Antiquity-themed character and army. Magic is not allowed.

The RP is divided into two main phases. The first is the Camp Phase, wherein you and your allies will convene at the strategy tent and listen to your scouts' information. Next, you can discuss potential strategies and tactics. Finally, you will elect a Grand Commander, who officially decides how to fight the battle.

The second phase is the Battle Phase, where the Allied army will deploy against Scipius' legions according to the Grand Commander's orders. The Allied commanders must fight off Scipius' army to the best of their ability. After each battle, the Allies will suffer casualties, and receive fatigue and morale penalties (which affect future casualties and fighting efficiency).

You will need to give a good description of your soldiers. What kind of armor they wear, their weapons, their training, their purpose, etc.
I am checking back in.

I won't post first cause I am not confident to start us off. I would prefer OP start us off!

Heads-up, I work Monday-Friday, and I ain't free till the late afternoon, and even then get busy mostly.
Name: John Rumby
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Bio/Personality: John was born in a small town south of the City, off a dirt road, raised alongside his younger sister, Sarah. His father worked a weekend shift in the factory, but was gone throughout the week maintaining his 'illegal business'; he used money from both sources to support his family. John went to a small school and was always quiet and reserved, and was very protective over his little sister on the playground. Derek 'Tommy' Thompson was John's first friend, and remains his best friend to this day. Derek's father worked for John's father, and John's mother often babysat the two boys - so their bond has always been strong.

Growing up, Tommy always admired Sarah, but never made it apparent to John because he feared it would hurt their friendship. In their teens, Tommy started to get more involved in the Rumby crime business. John may have followed in his father's footsteps, but at his mother's behest, he was denied the opportunity. Instead, his father got him a job at the factory. Nevertheless, Tommy started to learn the tricks of the trade, and went off on his own at times to start his own illegal operations; needless to say, John was asked to help out, and he did so. But John never joined Tommy's little crime ring officially, however, as he respected his mother and did not want to go against her wishes. John has always been close to his family, and while his father was constantly away, he had to be the man of the house.

A few months ago, however, Mr. Rumby and his gang - including Tommy's father - was gunned down in cold blood. The exact circumstances are unclear, but the entire Rumby Mob was wiped out that day.

Angry, and seething with vengeance, John Rumby has come to the City to find his father's killer. Tommy is to busy dealing with his own operations, but he gave John as much information as he could, and is willing to give him more if he finds anything else out. But no one else knows this - as John has come to the City seeking employment, and wants to gather information about his father's killer.
Appearance

Other: John's not a criminal. Or at least, not in any real sense. He has helped Tommy on numerous occasions with odd jobs - but he's never done anything serious. That said, he's not exactly good in a shootout, probably not to accurate either; he hasn't had to much experience shooting guns at all. He also has no contacts in the City, so he has to start from scratch. He doesn't have much money, and has absolutely no assets, and not even a car - or weapon. There's nothing particularly special about him. He's just a young man who's way in over his head.

John's main reason for being in the city is to find employment, build a network of contacts, gather information about who killed Mr. Rumby, and eventually exact vengeance - when the time is right. He will befriend anyone he needs too, and betray anyone he needs too. If he survives all of this, he might even try to rebuild the Rumby Mob.
